Job 20
1 Entonces Zofar el Naamatita respondió y dijo:
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said:
2 Por esta causa, mis pensamientos me inquietan y me impulsan.
Therefore do my thoughts give answer to me, even by reason of mine agitation that is in me.
3 Tengo que escuchar los reproches de mi desgracia, y él espíritu de mi entendimiento me hace responder.
I have heard the reproof which putteth me to shame, but out of my understanding my spirit answereth me.
4 ¿Sabes esto de los primeros tiempos, cuando el hombre fue puesto en la tierra,
Knowest thou not this of old time, since man was placed upon earth,
5 ¿Que el orgullo del pecador es corto, y el gozo del malvado, pero por un minuto?
That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?
6 Aunque él es elevado a los cielos, y su cabeza sube a las nubes;
Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7 Al igual que él estiércol, llega a su fin para siempre: los que lo han visto dicen: ¿Dónde está?
Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung; they that have seen him shall say: 'Where is he?'
8 Él se fue como un sueño, y no se le vuelve a ver; va en vuelo como una visión de la noche.
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found; yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9 El ojo que lo vio no lo ve más; y su lugar ya no tiene conocimiento de él.
The eye which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
10 Sus hijos favorecen a los pobres y sus manos le devuelvan su riqueza.
His children shall appease the poor, and his hands shall restore his wealth.
11 Sus huesos están llenos de fuerza joven, pero caerá a la tumba.
His bones are full of his youth, but it shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 Aunque el mal es dulce en su boca, y él lo guarda en secreto bajo su lengua;
Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 Aunque lo cuida, y no lo deja ir, sino que lo mantiene quieto en su boca;
Though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth;
14 Su comida se amarga en su estómago; El veneno de las serpientes está dentro de él.
Yet his food in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
15 Él toma la riqueza como alimento, y la vomita; Es expulsada de su estómago por Dios.
He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again; God shall cast them out of his belly.
16 Toma el veneno de las serpientes en su boca, la lengua de la serpiente es la causa de su muerte.
He shall suck the poison of asps; the viper's tongue shall slay him.
17 Ni vera los ríos, las corrientes de miel y leche.
He shall not look upon the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and curd.
18 Se ve obligado a devolver el fruto de su trabajo, restituirá de acuerdo a lo que tomo; no tiene alegría en el beneficio de su comercio.
That which he laboured for shall he give back, and shall not swallow it down; according to the substance that he hath gotten, he shall not rejoice.
19 Porque ha sido cruel con los pobres, apartándose de ellos en sus problemas; porque tomó una casa por la fuerza que no levantó;
For he hath oppressed and forsaken the poor; he hath violently taken away a house, and he shall not build it up.
20 No hay paz para él en su riqueza, ni salvación para él en aquellas cosas en que se deleitó.
Because he knew no quietness within him, in his greed he suffered nought to escape,
21 Nunca tuvo suficiente para su deseo; Por esta causa, su bienestar llegará rápidamente a su fin.
There was nothing left that he devoured not — therefore his prosperity shall not endure.
22 Aun cuando su riqueza es grande, está lleno de bastimento, será angustiado, la mano de todos los malvados se vuelve contra él.
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits; the hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.
23 Cuando esté comiendo, Dios descargará su ira sobre él, haciéndolo caer sobre él como la lluvia.
It shall be for the filling of his belly; He shall cast the fierceness of His wrath upon him, and shall cause it to rain upon him into his flesh.
24 Puede ir en vuelo desde la lanza de hierro, pero la flecha de la proa de bronce lo atravesará;
If he flee from the iron weapon, the bow of brass shall strike him through.
25 Lo está sacando, y sale de su espalda; y su punto brillante sale de su costado; es vencido por él terror.
He draweth it forth, and it cometh out of his body; yea, the glittering point cometh out of his gall; terrors are upon him.
26 Toda su riqueza está almacenada para la oscuridad; un fuego no hecho por el hombre envía destrucción sobre él, y sobre él que queda en su casa.
All darkness is laid up for his treasures; a fire not blown by man shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tent.
27 Los cielos descubren su pecado, y la tierra da testimonio contra él.
The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, and the earth shall rise up against him.
28 El producto de su riqueza se perderá en el día que Dios desborde su ira.
The increase of his house shall depart, his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
29 Esta es la recompensa del hombre malo, y la herencia que Dios le ha dado.
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
