Jeremías 6
1 Vete de Jerusalén, huyan para que estén a salvo, hijos de Benjamín, y que suene la bocina en Tecoa, y que se levante la bandera de Bet-haquerem, porque el mal se asoma desde fuera al norte, una gran destrucción.
Flee for safety, ye children of Benjamin, out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and raise up a signal on Beth-haccherem; for evil looketh forth from the north, and a great destruction.
2 La hermosa y delicada, la hija de Sión, será cortada por mi mano.
The comely and delicate one, the daughter of Zion, will I cut off.
3 Vendrán a ella los guardianes de las ovejas con sus rebaños; levantarán sus tiendas alrededor de ella; Todos recibirán comida en su lugar.
Shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
4 Prepara la guerra contra ella; ¡arriba! Subamos cuando el sol está alto. ¡El dolor es nuestro! porque el día cambia y las sombras de la tarde se alargan.
Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day declineth, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
5 ¡Arriba! Subamos de noche y enviemos destrucción a sus palacios.
Arise, and let us go up by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
6 Porque esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: ¡Que se corten los árboles y que se coloque una rampa contra Jerusalén; esta es la ciudad que ha de ser visitada! Dentro de ella no hay más que violencia.
For thus hath Jehovah of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
7 A medida que la primavera mantiene sus aguas frías, también ella guarda su maldad; el sonido de un comportamiento cruel y violento está en ella; ante mí en todo momento hay enfermedades y heridas.
As a well casteth forth its waters, so she casteth forth her wickedness: violence and destruction is heard in her; before me continually is sickness and wounds.
8 Corrígete, oh Jerusalén, o mi alma se apartará de ti, y te haré un desolación, una tierra sin habitantes.
Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from thee; lest I make thee a desolation, a land not inhabited.
9 Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Todo se tomará del resto que quede de Israel como las últimas uvas se toman de la vid; como cuando tu mano se vuelva hacia las ramas pequeñas, para arrancar las última uvas.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn again thy hand as a grape-gatherer into the baskets.
10 ¿A quién debo dar palabra, testificando para que tomen nota? Mira, sus oídos están cerrados y no pueden prestar atención; mira, la palabra del Señor ha sido una causa de vergüenza para ellos, no se deleitan en ella.
To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of Jehovah is become unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
11 Por esta razón estoy lleno de la ira del Señor, estoy cansado de mantenerla; que se suelte en los niños de la calle y en la reunión de los jóvenes juntos; incluso El marido con su esposa será apresado, el anciano con él que está lleno de días.
Therefore I am full of the wrath of Jehovah; I am weary with holding in: pour it out upon the children in the street, and upon the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
12 Y sus casas serán entregadas a otros, sus campos y sus esposas juntamente; porque mi mano será tendida contra la gente de la tierra, dice el Señor.
And their houses shall be turned unto others, their fields and their wives together; for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith Jehovah.
13 Porque de los más pequeños hasta los más grandes, todos están dispuestos a ganar dinero; Desde el profeta hasta el sacerdote, todo el mundo está trabajando engaño.
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
14 Y hicieron poco de las heridas de mi pueblo, diciendo: Paz, paz; cuando no hay paz.
They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
15 Sean avergonzados porque han hecho cosas repugnantes. No tuvieron vergüenza, no pudieron enrojecer de vergüenza; entonces caerán con los que están cayendo; cuando mi castigo caiga sobre ellos, serán humillados, dice el Señor.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall; at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith Jehovah.
16 Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: Toma tu lugar mirando los caminos; Hagan una búsqueda de los caminos antiguos, diciendo: ¿Dónde está el buen camino? y anden por él para que puedan descansar por tus almas. Pero ellos dijeron: No andaremos.
Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk [therein].
17 Y pongo vigilantes sobre ti, diciendo: Presta atención al sonido del cuerno; Pero ellos dijeron: No vamos a dar atención.
And I set watchmen over you, [saying], Hearken to the sound of the trumpet; but they said, We will not hearken.
18 Entonces, prestad atención, naciones, y entiendan congregación lo que hay entre ellos.
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
19 Escucha, oh tierra: mira, haré que venga el mal sobre este pueblo, incluso el fruto de sus pensamientos, porque no han prestado atención a mis palabras, y rechazaron mi ley.
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.
20 ¿Con qué propósito me llega el perfume dulce de Seba y las especias de un país lejano? tus ofrendas quemadas no me dan placer, tus ofrendas de bestias no me agradan.
To what purpose cometh there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing unto me.
21 Por esto ha dicho el Señor: Mira, pondré piedras en el camino de este pueblo; y los padres y los hijos irán cayendo sobre ellos juntamente; El prójimo y su amigo serán destruidos.
Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people; and the fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.
22 El Señor ha dicho: ¿Ven? Un pueblo viene del norte, una gran nación será puesta en movimiento desde las partes más internas de la tierra.
Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, a people cometh from the north country; and a great nation shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
23 Arcos y lanzas están en sus manos; son crueles y no tienen piedad; su voz es como el trueno del mar, y van sobre caballos; Todos en su lugar, como hombres que van a la lucha, contra ti, oh hija de Sión.
They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea, and they ride upon horses, every one set in array, as a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Zion.
24 La noticia de esto ha llegado a nuestros oídos; nuestras manos se han vuelto débiles: nos han llegado problemas y dolor, como el dolor de una mujer en el parto.
We have heard the report thereof; our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, [and] pangs as of a woman in travail.
25 No salgan al campo ni por el camino; porque allí está la espada del atacante, y el temor por todos lados.
Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy, [and] terror, are on every side.
26 Oh, hija de mi pueblo, ponte la ropa de cilicio, arrójate a la ceniza; date a la pena, como a un hijo único, con los más amargos gritos de dolor; porque el que nos va a destruir vendrá de repente sobre nosotros.
O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the destroyer shall suddenly come upon us.
27 Te he puesto como fortaleza y por torre pondrás a prueba a mi gente, para que tengas conocimiento de su conducta y lo pongas a prueba.
I have made thee a trier [and] a fortress among my people; that thou mayest know and try their way.
28 Todos ellos son rebeldes, yendo con historias falsas; son latón y hierro; todos son obreros corrompidos.
They are all grievous revolters, going about with slanders; they are brass and iron: they all of them deal corruptly.
29 El soplador sopla con fuerza, el plomo se quema en el fuego; continúan calentando el metal sin ningún propósito, porque los malhechores no son quitados.
The bellows blow fiercely; the lead is consumed of the fire: in vain do they go on refining; for the wicked are not plucked away.
30 Serán llamados plata de desecho, porque el Señor los ha desecho.
Refuse silver shall men call them, because Jehovah hath rejected them.
