Jeremías 48
1 Acerca de Moab. El Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, ha dicho: Dolor en Nebo, porque ha sido destruida; Quiriataim ha sido avergonzado y ha sido tomado; el lugar fuerte ha sido avergonzado y destruido.
Concerning Moab: 'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo, for it is spoiled, Put to shame, captured hath been Kiriathaim, Put to shame hath been the high tower, Yea, it hath been broken down.
2 La alabanza de Moab ha llegado a su fin; En cuanto a Hesbón, el mal ha sido diseñado contra ella; Ven, pongámosle fin a ella como nación. Mas tu boca será cerrada, O Madmen; La espada te perseguirá.
There is no more praise of Moab, In Heshbon they devised against it evil: Come, and we cut it off from [being] a nation, Also, O Madmen, thou art cut off, After thee goeth a sword.
3 Se oye el llanto de Horonaim, ruina y gran destrucción;
A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction.
4 Moab está quebrantado; Su grito ha salido a Zoar.
Destroyed hath been Moab, Caused a cry to be heard have her little ones.
5 Porque por la ladera de Luhit subirán llorando todo el camino; porque en el camino a Horonaim, el grito de destrucción ha llegado a sus oídos.
For the ascent of Luhith with weeping, Go up doth weeping, For in the descent of Horonaim Adversaries a cry of desolation have heard.
6 Ve en vuelo, escapa de tus vidas y Sean como la zarza en el desierto.
Flee ye, deliver yourselves, Ye are as a naked thing in a wilderness.
7 Porque por haber puesto tu fe en tus obras y tus riquezas, tú, incluso tú, serás tomado; y Quemos saldrá como prisionero, sus sacerdotes y sus gobernantes juntos.
For, because of thy trusting in thy works, And in thy treasures, even thou art captured, And gone out hath Chemosh in a removal, His priests and his heads together.
8 Y el atacante vendrá contra todos los pueblos, ni uno estará a salvo; y el valle será arruinado, y la destrucción llegará a las tierras bajas, como el Señor lo ha dicho.
And come in doth a spoiler unto every city, And no city doth escape, And perished hath the valley, And destroyed been the plain, as Jehovah said.
9 Levante un pilar para Moab, porque ella llegará a su fin; y sus pueblos se convertirán en ruinas, sin que nadie viva en ellos.
Give wings to Moab, for she utterly goeth out, And her cities are for a desolation, Without an inhabitant in them.
10 Sea maldito el que hace la obra del Señor con engaño; Que sea maldito el que retiene su espada de sangre.
Cursed [is] he who is doing the work of Jehovah slothfully, And cursed [is] he Who is withholding his sword from blood.
11 Desde sus primeros días, Moab ha estado viviendo en comodidad; como el vino almacenado durante mucho tiempo, no ha sido drenado de un recipiente a otro, nunca se ha ido como prisionero; por lo que su sabor aún está en él, su olor no ha cambiado.
Secure is Moab from his youth, And at rest [is] he for his preserved things, And he hath not been emptied out from vessel unto vessel, And into captivity he hath not gone, Therefore hath his taste remained in him, And his fragrance hath not been changed.
12 Ciertamente, los días se acercan, dice el Señor, cuando le enviaré a los hombres que le harán volverse hasta que no haya más vino en sus vasijas, y sus odres vacíos de vino se romperán por completo.
Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sent to him wanderers, And they have caused him to wander, And his vessels they empty out, And his bottles they dash in pieces.
13 Y se avergonzará Moab a causa de Quemos, como se avergonzó a los hijos de Israel a causa de Betel su esperanza.
And ashamed hath been Moab because of Chemosh, As the house of Israel have been ashamed Because of Beth-El their confidence.
14 ¿Cómo pueden decir: Somos hombres de guerra y combatientes fuertes?
How do ye say, We [are] mighty, And men of strength for battle?
15 El que trae destrucción a Moab ha subido contra ella; y sus jóvenes escogidos han bajado al degolladero, dice el Rey, cuyo nombre es el Señor de los ejércitos.
Spoiled is Moab, and her cities hath one gone up, And the choice of its young men Have gone down to slaughter, An affirmation of the King, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name.
16 La calamidad de Moab está cerca, y su mal viene muy rápido.
Near is the calamity of Moab to come, And his affliction hath hasted exceedingly.
17 Todos los que lo rodean, den señales de dolor por él, y todos los que conocen su nombre, digan: ¡Cómo se rompe la vara fuerte, incluso él glorioso bordon!
Bemoan for him, all ye round about him, And all knowing his name, say ye: How hath it been broken, the staff of strength, The rod of beauty.
18 Desciende de tu gloria, pueblo de Dibón, y toma asiento en el lugar reseco; porque él destructor de Moab ha subido contra ti, enviando destrucción a tus fortalezas.
Come down from honour, sit in thirst, O inhabitant, daughter of Dibon, For a spoiler of Moab hath come up to thee, He hath destroyed thy fenced places.
19 Oh hija de Aroer, toma tu puesto por cierto, de guardia; pregúntale quién está huyendo y quién se ha escapado, pregunta, ¿qué se ha hecho?
On the way stand, and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer, Ask the fugitive and escaped, Say, What hath happened?
20 Moab ha sido avergonzada, está quebrantada; hace fuertes ruidos de dolor, pidiendo ayuda; den la noticia junto al Arnón, que Moab ha sido destruida.
Put to shame hath been Moab, For it hath been broken down, Howl and cry, declare ye in Arnon, For spoiled is Moab,
21 Y el castigo ha llegado a las tierras bajas; en Holon, Jahaza, Mefaat,
And judgment hath come in unto the land of the plain — unto Holon, And unto Jahazah, and on Mephaath,
22 Dibón, Nebo, Bet-diblataim,
And on Dibon, and on Nebo, And on Beth-Diblathaim, and on Kirathaim,
23 Quiriataim, y en Beth-gamul, y en Bet-meon,
And on Beth-Gamul, and on Beth-Meon,
24 Queriot, y en Bosra, y en todos los pueblos de la tierra de Moab, lejanos y cercanos.
And on Kerioth, and on Bozrah, And on all cities of the land of Moab, The far off and the near.
25 Se corta el poder de Moab y su poder destruido, dice el Señor.
Cut down hath been the horn of Moab, And his arm hath been broken, An affirmation of Jehovah.
26 Emborrachenlo, porque su corazón se ha enorgullecido contra el Señor; y Moab se revolcara en su vómito, y todos se burlarán de él.
Declare ye him drunk, For against Jehovah he made himself great And Moab hath stricken in his vomit, And he hath been for a derision — even he.
27 ¿No hiciste burla de Israel? fue tomado entre los ladrones? porque cuando estabas hablando de él, estabas hablando con desprecio.
And was not Israel the derision to thee? Among thieves was he found? For since thy words concerning him, Thou dost bemoan thyself.
28 Oh pueblo de Moab, sal de los pueblos y escápate en la roca; Sé como la paloma de Araba, que la convierte en lugar de vivir detrás de la boca de la caverna.
Forsake cities, and dwell in a rock, Ye inhabitants of Moab, And be as a dove making a nest in the passages of a pit's mouth.
29 Hemos recibido la noticia del orgullo de Moab, de su soberbia; y su gran opinión de sí mismo, de su arrogancia, la altivez de su corazón.
We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceeding proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,
30 Tengo conocimiento de su ira, dice el Señor, que no es nada; Sus jactancias no han hecho nada.
I — I have known, an affirmation of Jehovah, His wrath, and [it is] not right, His devices — not right they have done.
31 Por esta causa daré gritos de dolor por Moab, clamando por todo Moab; Estaré triste por los hombres de Kir-heres.
Therefore for Moab I howl, even for Moab — all of it, I cry for men of Kir-Heres, it doth mourn,
32 Mi llanto por ti, oh viña de Sibma, será más que el llanto de Jazer; tus ramas se han extendido sobre el mar, extendiéndose incluso hasta Jazer; la destrucción ha caído sobre tus frutos de verano y tus uvas cortadas.
With the weeping of Jazer, I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah, Thy branches have passed over a sea, Unto the sea of Jazer they have come, On thy summer fruits, and on thy harvest, A spoiler hath fallen.
33 Todo el gozo se ha ido; ya no se alegran por el campo fértil y por la tierra de Moab; He hecho que el vino llegue a su fin en los lagares donde los pisan; ya no pisaran las uvas con el sonido de voces alegres.
And removed hath been joy and gladness From the fruitful field, Even from the land of Moab, And wine from wine-presses I have caused to cease, Shouting doth not proceed, The shouting [is] no shouting!
34 El clamor de Hesbón llega incluso a Eleale; a Jahaz suena su voz; desde Zoar hasta Horonaim y Eglat-selisiya; porque las aguas de Nimrim se secarán.
Because of the cry of Heshbon unto Elealeh, Unto Jahaz they have given their voice, From Zoar unto Horonaim, A heifer of the third [year], For even waters of Nimrim become desolations.
35 Y pondré fin a Moab, dice el Señor al que hace ofrendas en el lugar alto y quema incienso a sus dioses.
And I have caused to cease to Moab, An affirmation of Jehovah, Him who is offering in a high place, And him who is making perfume to his god.
36 Entonces mi corazón gemirá por Moab como el sonido de las flautas, y mi corazón está sonando como flautas por los hombres de Kir-heres: porque la riqueza que él tiene para sí mismo ha llegado a su fin.
Therefore my heart for Moab as pipes doth sound, And my heart for men of Kir-Heres As pipes doth sound, Therefore the abundance he made did perish.
37 Porque en todas partes se corta el vello de la cabeza y el vello de la cara; en cada mano hay heridas y se han vestido de silicio.
For every head [is] bald, and every beard diminished, On all hands cuttings, and on the loins — sackcloth.
38 En todas las casas de Moab y en sus calles hay llanto por todas partes; porque Moab se ha roto como un vaso en el cual no hay placer, dice el Señor.
On all roofs of Moab, and in her broad-places, All of it — [is] lamentation, For I have broken Moab as a vessel in which there is no pleasure, An affirmation of Jehovah.
39 Hagan lamentación por Moab ¿Cómo ha sido quebrantado? ¿Cómo se ha vuelto la espalda de Moab avergonzado? así que Moab será una causa de burla y espanto para todos los que lo rodean.
How hath it been broken down! they have howled, How hath Moab turned the neck ashamed, And Moab hath been for a derision. And for a terror to all round about her.
40 Porque el Señor ha dicho: Mira, vendrá como un águila en vuelo, extendiendo sus alas contra Moab.
For thus said Jehovah: Lo, as an eagle he doth flee, And hath spread his wings unto Moab.
41 Ha sido tomado Queriot, y las fortalezas han sido ocupadas por los enemigos, y los corazones de los hombres de guerra de Moab en ese día serán como el corazón de una mujer en los dolores de parto.
Captured have been the cities, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Hath been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman.
42 Y Moab llegará a su fin como pueblo, porque él se ha estado levantando contra el Señor.
And Moab hath been destroyed from [being] a people, For against Jehovah he exerted himself.
43 El temor, la muerte y la red han caído sobre ti, pueblo de Moab, dice el Señor.
Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [are] for thee, O inhabitant of Moab — an affirmation of Jehovah,
44 El que huya del miedo será vencido por la muerte; y el que se libere de la muerte, será capturado en la red: porque haré que venga esto a Moab, el año de su castigo, dice el Señor.
Whoso is fleeing because of the fear falleth into the snare, And whoso is coming up from the snare is captured by the gin, For I bring in unto her — unto Moab — The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Jehovah.
45 Los que salieron huyendo del miedo están esperando a la sombra de Hesbón, porque se está quemando Hesbón y una llama de la casa de Sehón, se extiende y quema los montes Moab y la corona de cabeza de esos revoltosos.
In the shadow of Heshbon stood powerless have fugitives, For fire hath gone forth from Heshbon, And a flame from within Sihon, And it consumeth the corner of Moab, And the crown of the sons of Shaon.
46 ¡El dolor es tuyo, oh Moab! La gente de Quemos ha perecido, porque tus hijos y tus hijas han sido llevados prisioneros.
Woe to thee, O Moab, Perished hath the people of Chemosh, For thy sons were taken with the captives, And thy daughters with the captivity.
47 Pero aún así, dejaré que el destino de Moab cambie en los últimos días, dice el Señor.
And I have turned back [to] the captivity of Moab, In the latter end of the days, An affirmation of Jehovah! Hitherto [is] the judgment of Moab.
