Jeremías 43

1 Y sucedió que cuando Jeremías llegó al final de dar a todas las personas las palabras del Señor su Dios, que el Señor su Dios le había enviado para decirles todas estas palabras.

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, for which Jehovah their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

2 Entonces Azarías, el hijo de Osaias, y Johanán, el hijo de Carea, y todos los hombres soberbios, le dijeron a Jeremías: Tú has dicho lo que es falso, el Señor nuestro Dios no te ha enviado para que digas: No vayas a la tierra de Egipto y vivas allí.

then spake Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, “Thou speakest falsely; Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there;

3 Pero Baruc, el hijo de Nerías, te está moviendo contra nosotros, para que nos entreguemos en manos de los caldeos para que nos maten y nos lleven prisioneros a Babilonia.

but Baruch, the son of Neriah, setteth thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldaeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.”

4 Así que Johanán, el hijo de Carea, y todos los capitanes de las fuerzas, y todo el pueblo, no escucharon la orden del Señor de que debían seguir viviendo en la tierra de Judá.

So Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of Jehovah, to remain in the land of Judah.

5 Pero Johanán, el hijo de Carea, y todos los capitanes de las fuerzas se llevaron a todos los demás judíos que habían regresado a la tierra de Judá de todas las naciones a las que se habían visto obligados a ir;

But Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations whither they had been driven to dwell in the land of Judah,

6 Los hombres y las mujeres y los hijos y las hijas del rey, y toda persona a la que Nabuzaradán, el capitán de la guardia, había puesto bajo el cuidado de Gedalías, el hijo de Ahicam, el hijo de Safán y al profeta Jeremías el profeta y Baruc, hijo de Nerías;

the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, had left with Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch, the son of Neriah;

7 Y vinieron a la tierra de Egipto; porque no escucharon la voz del Señor, y vinieron Tafnes.

and they went into the land of Egypt; for they obeyed not the voice of Jehovah; and they came to Tahpanhes.

8 Entonces la palabra del Señor vino a Jeremías en Tafnes, diciendo:

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:

9 Toma en tu mano algunas piedras grandes y, entiérralas en la mezcla del camino enladrillado a la casa de Faraón en Tafnes, ante los ojos de los hombres de Judá;

Take in thy hand great stones, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln which is at the entrance of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah,

10 Y diles: Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Mira, enviaré y tomaré a Nabucodonosor, el rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y él pondré el trono de su reino sobre estas piedras que han sido guardadas aquí por ti; y su tienda se extenderá sobre ellos.

and say to them: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send, and take Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne upon these stones which I have hidden, and he shall spread his royal canopy over them.

11 Y él vendrá y vencerá la tierra de Egipto; Los que están para la muerte serán condenados a la muerte, los que van a ser prisioneros serán hechos prisioneros, y los que están para la espada serán entregados a la espada.

And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt, and deliver those that are for death to death, and those that are for captivity to captivity, and those that are for the sword to the sword.

12 Y pondrá fuego en las casas de los dioses de Egipto; y serán quemados por él; y él se vestirá de la tierra de Egipto como un pastor se envuelve con su capa; y saldrá de allí en paz.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive; and he shall wrap himself in the land of Egypt, as a shepherd wrappeth himself in his garment, and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

13 Y los pilares de piedra de Bet-semes en la tierra de Egipto serán destruidos por él, y las casas de los dioses de Egipto serán quemadas con fuego.

And he shall break in pieces the images of Bethshemesh in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
