Jeremías 32

1 Palabra que vino a Jeremías de parte del Señor en el décimo año de Sedequías, rey de Judá, que fue el año dieciocho de Nabucodonosor.

The word which came unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, —the same, was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar;

2 Y entonces, el ejército del rey de Babilonia rodeaba a Jerusalén y la cerraba, y el profeta Jeremías estaba encerrado en el lugar de los vigilantes armados, en la casa del rey de Judá.

and, then, the forces of the king of Babylon were besieging Jerusalem, —and, Jeremiah the prophet, had been shut up in the guard-court, which was in the house of the king of Judah;

3 Porque Sedequías, rey de Judá, lo había encerrado, diciendo: ¿Por qué, como profeta, has estado diciendo: El Señor ha dicho: Mira, entregaré este pueblo en manos del rey de Babilonia? y él lo tomará;

whom Zedekiah king of Judah, had shut up, saying, —Why art thou prophesying, saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, Behold me! giving up this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it;

4 Y Sedequías, rey de Judá, no se librará de las manos de los caldeos, sino que ciertamente será entregado en manos del rey de Babilonia, y hablará con él, boca a boca, y lo verá, ojo a ojo.

and, Zedekiah king of Judah! shall not be delivered out of the hand of the Chaldeans, —for he shall be wholly given up, into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak—the mouth of the one to the mouth of the other, and the eyes of the one into the eyes of the other, shall look;

5 Y se llevará a Sedequías a Babilonia, donde estará hasta que lo visite, dice el Señor; y si luchas contra los caldeos, ¿no tendrás éxito?

and into Babylon, shall he lead Zedekiah and, there, shall he remain, until I visit him, Declareth Yahweh, —though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper?

6 Y Jeremías dijo: La palabra del Señor vino a mí, diciendo:

And Jeremiah said, —The word of Yahweh came unto me saying:

7 Mira, Hanameel, el hijo de Salum, el hermano de tu padre, vendrá a ti y te dirá: “Da el precio y obtén para ti mi propiedad en Anatot; porque tienes el derecho de la relación más cercana”.

Lo! Hanameel son of Shallum thine uncle, hath come unto thee saying, —Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth, for, thine, is the right of redemption to buy it.

8 Entonces, Hanameel, el hijo del hermano de mi padre, vino a mí, como el Señor había dicho, al lugar de los vigilantes armados, y me dijo: Dame el precio y consigue mi propiedad que está en Anatot en el tierra de Benjamín; porque tienes el derecho de relación más cercano al patrimonio; así que hazlo por ti mismo. Entonces me quedó claro que esta era la palabra del Señor.

So Hanameel son of mine uncle, came unto me, according to the word of Yahweh into the guard-court, and said unto me, Buy, I pray thee my field that is in Anathoth which is in the land of Benjamin, for, thine, is the right of inheritance, and, thine, the redemption, —buy it for thyself. So I knew, that the word of Yahweh, it was.

9 Conseguí por un precio la propiedad en Anatot de Hanameel, el hijo del hermano de mi padre, y le di el dinero, diecisiete siclos de plata;

And I bought the field from Hanameel son of mine uncle that was in Anathoth, —and weighed him the silver, seventeen shekels, was the silver;

10 Y lo puse por escrito, lo estampé con mi sello, y tomé testigos y puse el dinero en la balanza.

and I wrote in the scroll and sealed it, and took in attestation witnesses, —and weighed the silver in the balances.

11 Entonces tomé el papel como testigo del negocio, una copia enrollada y sellada, y una copia abierta:

Then took I the scroll of purchase, both that which was sealed—the title and the conditions—and that which was open;

12 Y le di el papel a Baruc, el hijo de Nerías, el hijo de Maasias, ante los ojos de Hanameel, el hijo del hermano de mi padre, y de los testigos que habían puesto sus nombres en el papel, y antes Todos los judíos que estaban sentados en el lugar de los vigilantes armados.

and gave the scroll of purchase unto Baruch son of Neriah son of Mahseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle[’s son], and in the sight of the witnesses who subscribed the scroll of purchase, —in the sight of all the Jews who were sitting in the guard-court.

13 Y di órdenes a Baruc delante de ellos, diciendo:

Then charged I Baruch in their sight saying:

14 Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Toma estas escrituras, carta de compra sellada, la que está enrollada y sellada, y la que está abierta; y póngalas en un cántaro de barro para que puedan ser guardados durante mucho tiempo.

Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Take thou these scrolls, this scroll of purchase even that which is sealed, and this scroll that is open, and put them in an earthen vessel, —that they may remain many days,

15 Porque el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, ha dicho: Habrá nuevamente comercio de casas, campos y viñas en esta tierra.

For Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel: Again, shall houses and fields and vineyards, be bought, in this land.

16 Después de entregarle el papel a Baruc, hijo de Nerías, oré al Señor, diciendo:

Then prayed I unto Yahweh, —after I had delivered the scroll of purchase unto Baruch son of Neriah, saying: —

17 ¡Ah Señor Dios! mira, has hecho el cielo y la tierra con tu gran poder y con tu brazo extendido, y no hay nada que no puedas hacer;

Alas! My Lord, Yahweh! Lo! thou thyself, didst make the heavens, and the earth, by thy great might, and by thine outstretched arm, —There is nothing, too wonderful for thee:

18 Tienes misericordia de miles y envías castigos por los actos malvados de los padres sobre sus hijos después de ellos; Dios grande, el Dios poderoso, el Señor de los ejércitos es su nombre.

Executing lovingkindness unto thousands, But recompensing the iniquity of fathers, into the bosom of their children, after them, Thou GOD, the great the mighty, Yahweh of hosts, is his name:

19 Grande en sabiduría y poderoso en tus actos: cuyos ojos están abiertos en todos los caminos de los hijos de los hombres, dando a todos la recompensa de sus caminos y el fruto de sus obras.

Great in counsel, and mighty in deed, —Whose eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of men, to give unto every one, According to his ways, and According to the fruit of his doings:

20 Has hecho señales y maravillas en la tierra de Egipto, y hasta este día, en Israel y entre otros hombres; y te has hecho un nombre famoso;

Who didst set signs and wonders, in the land of Egypt, unto this day, and in Israel and among mankind, —And didst make for thyself a name as at this day;

21 Y sacaste a tu pueblo Israel de la tierra de Egipto con señales y maravillas, y con una mano fuerte y un brazo extendido, causando gran temor;

And didst bring forth thy people Israel out of the land of, Egypt, With signs and with wonders, and With a strong hand, and With an outstretched arm, and With great terror;

22 Y les has dado esta tierra, la cual diste a los padres para que les dieras una tierra que fluye leche y miel;

And didst give unto them this land, which thou hadst sworn to their fathers to give unto them, —a land flowing with milk and honey;

23 Y entraron y la tomaron por su herencia, pero no escucharon tu voz, ni fueron gobernados por tu ley; no han hecho nada de todo lo que les ordenaste hacer, así que has hecho que todo este mal venga sobre ellos.

And they came in and took possession of it But hearkened not unto thy voice Nor in thy law, did they walk, Nought of what thou hadst commanded them to do, did they do, —And so thou hast caused to befall them all this calamity.

24 Mira, han levantado rampas contra el pueblo para atacarlos; y el pueblo está en manos de los caldeos que luchan contra él, debido a la guerra y hambre y enfermedad; y lo que has dicho ha ocurrido, y de verdad lo estás viendo.

Lo! the earthworks! they have entered the city, to capture it, And the city, hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans, who are fighting against it, because of the sword and the famine and the pestilence, —And so what thou didst speak, hath come to pass, And there thou art looking on!

25 Y tú me dijiste: Dame el dinero para conseguirte una propiedad y haz que se atestigüe el negocio; aunque el pueblo se entregue en manos de los caldeos.

Yet, thou thyself, saidst unto me, O My Lord, Yahweh, Buy thee the field for silver And take in attestation, witnesses, —Whereas, the city, hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!

26 Y vino la palabra del Señor a Jeremías, diciendo:

Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Jeremiah, saying: —

27 Mira, yo soy el Señor, el Dios de toda carne: ¿hay algo tan difícil que no pueda hacerlo?

Lo! I, am Yahweh, God of all flesh, —For me, is any thing too wonderful?

28 Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor: Mira, estoy entregando este pueblo a manos de los caldeos y a manos de Nabucodonosor, el rey de Babilonia, y él lo tomará:

Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, —Behold me! giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it;

29 Y los Caldeos, que luchan contra esta ciudad, vendrán y la incendiarán, quemándola junto con las casas, en los techos de los cuales se han quemado incienso a Baal, y las ofrendas de bebidas se han derramado hacia otros dioses, moviéndome a la ira.

And the Chaldeans, who are fighting against this city, Shall enter, and Shall set this city on fire, and Shall consume it, —With the houses on whose roofs they burned incense to Baal and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger;

30 Desde los primeros años, porque los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Judá no han hecho más que mal en mis ojos; los hijos de Israel solo me han hecho enojar con la obra de sus manos, dice el Señor.

For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been nothing but doers of wickedness in my sight from the days of their youth, —For the sons of Israel have been doing nothing but provoke me to anger by the workmanship of their hands, Declareth Yahweh;

31 Porque está ciudad ha sido para mí causa de ira y de ardiente enojo desde el día de su construcción hasta el día de hoy, de modo que la voy a quitar de mi presencia.

For According to mine anger, and According to mine indignation, hath been to me this city, from the day when they built it even unto this day, —that I should pull it down from before my face:

32 Por todo el mal de los hijos de Israel y de los hijos de Judá, que hicieron para enojarme, ellos y sus reyes, sus príncipes, sus sacerdotes y sus profetas, y los hombres de Judá. y el pueblo de Jerusalén.

because of all the wickedness of the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem:

33 Me han dado la espalda y no la cara; y aunque yo era su maestro, al levantarme temprano y enseñarles, sus oídos no estaban abiertos a la enseñanza.

Thus have they turned unto me the back, and not the face, —Though I instructed them, betimes, instructing them, Yet have they not been hearkening, to receive correction;

34 Pero ellos pusieron sus repugnantes imágenes en la casa que lleva mi nombre, haciéndola impura.

But have set their abominations in the house on which my name hath been called, to defile it;

35 Y levantaron los lugares altos de Baal en el valle del hijo de Hinnom, haciendo que sus hijos y sus hijas pasarán por el fuego a Moloc; por lo que no les di órdenes de hacer, y nunca se me ocurrió que harían esta cosa asquerosa, haciendo pecar a Judá.

And have built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of Ben-hinnom, To cause their sons and their daughters to pass through unto Molech, Which I commanded them not Neither came it up on my heart, That they should do this horrible thing, —Causing, Judah, to sin!

36 Y ahora el Señor, el Dios de Israel, ha dicho de este pueblo, sobre el cual dices: Se entrega en manos del rey de Babilonia por la espada y por hambre y por enfermedad y peste.

Now therefore, because of this, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, —Concerning this city, whereof ye are saying, It hath been delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, by sword, and by famine and by pestilence:

37 Mira, los reuniré de todos los países donde los he enviado en mi ira y en el calor de mi enojo y en mi amargo sentimiento; y los dejaré volver a este lugar donde pueden descansar tranquilamente.

Behold me! gathering them out of all the lands whither I have driven them—In mine anger and In mine indignation and In great vexation, —And I will cause them to return into this place, And will make them dwell, securely;

38 Y ellos serán mi pueblo, y yo seré su Dios:

And they shall become my people, —And, I, will become their God;

39 Y les daré un solo corazón y un solo camino, para que puedan continuar adorándome para siempre, para su bien y el bien de sus hijos después de ellos.

And I will give them one heart, and one way, That they may revere me, all the days, —For the good of them and of their children after them;

40 Y haré un pacto eterno con ellos, que nunca los abandonaré, sino que siempre les haré bien; y pondré mi temor en sus corazones, para que no se alejen de mí.

And I will solemnise to them an age-abiding covenant, That I will not turn away from following them, to do them good, —But the reverence of myself, will I put in their heart, so that they shall not turn away from me.

41 Y verdaderamente, me complacerá hacerles el bien, y todo mi corazón y mi alma se dedicarán a plantarlos en esta tierra.

And I will rejoice over them, to do them good, —And will plant them in this land in truth, with all my heart and with all my soul.

42 Porque el Señor ha dicho: Como he hecho que todo este gran mal venga sobre este pueblo, enviaré sobre ellos todo el bien que dije acerca de ellos.

For, Thus, saith Yahweh, Like as I have brought upon this people all this great calamity, So, am I bringing upon them all the good that I am speaking concerning them.

43 Y habrá comercio en campos en esta tierra de la que decían: Es un desperdicio, sin hombres ni animales; entregada está en manos de los caldeos.

Therefore shall fields be bought in this land, —whereof ye are saying, It is, a desolation, Without man or beast, It hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans:

44 Los hombres comprarán campos por dinero, y pondrán la compra por escrito, estampando los papeles y con testigos, en la tierra de Benjamín y en el campo alrededor de Jerusalén y en las ciudades de Judá y en las ciudades de la colina y en las ciudades de las tierras bajas y en las ciudades del sur; porque yo haré tornar su cautividad, dice el Señor.

Fields—for silver, shall men buy, And write in scrolls And seal them, And take in attestation, witnesses, In the land of Benjamin, and In the places round about Jerusalem, and In the cities of Judah, and In the cities of the hill country, and In the cities of the lowland and In the cities of the South, —For I will cause them of their captivity to return Declareth Yahweh.
