Jeremías 23

1 Ay! De los pastores que están causando la destrucción y la pérdida de las ovejas de mi campo, dice el Señor.

Alas for the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture Declareth Yahweh.

2 Esto es lo que el Señor, el Dios de Israel, ha dicho contra los pastores que cuidan de mi pueblo: has dejado que mi rebaño se separe, los han hecho huir no cuidándolos; Mira, te enviaré el castigo por el mal de tus obras, dice el Señor.

Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Concerning the shepherds who are tending my people, —Ye have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and have not visited them, —Behold me! visiting upon you the wickedness of your doings Declareth Yahweh.

3 Y reuniré el resto de mi rebaño de todos los países donde los he enviado, y los haré regresar de nuevo a su lugar de descanso; y tendrán descendencia y serán aumentados.

I myself, therefore will gather the remnant of my flock, out of all the lands whither I have driven them, —And will bring them back unto their own fold, And they shall be fruitful and multiply;

4 Y pondré a los pastores que cuidarán de ellos; nunca más serán vencidos por el miedo ni se preocuparán, y no habrá pérdida de uno de ellos, dice el Señor.

And I will raise up over them shepherds who will tend them, —So shall they not be afraid any more, nor be dismayed nor be missing, Declareth Yahweh.

5 Mira, vienen días, dice el Señor, cuando le daré a David una verdadera Rama, y él gobernará como rey, actuando sabiamente, haciendo lo correcto y juzgando rectamente en la tierra.

Lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, when I will raise up to David A righteous Bud, And he shall reign as king, and prosper, And shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

6 En sus días, Judá tendrá la salvación e Israel vivirá sin temor; y este es el nombre con el que se llamará: El Señor es nuestra justicia.

In his days, Shall Judah be saved, And Israel abide securely, —And, this, is his name whereby he shall be called Yahweh, our Righteousness.

7 Y así, en verdad, vendrán días en que ya no dirán: Vive él Señor, que sacó a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto;

Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, When it shall not be said any more As Yahweh liveth, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

8 Pero por el Señor viviente, que tomó los descendientes de Israel y los hizo salir del país del norte, y de todos los países donde los había enviado; y vivirán en la tierra que les pertenece.

but—As Yahweh liveth who hath brought up and who hath brought in the seed of the house of Israel out of the land of the North, and out of all the lands whither I have driven them, —And they shall remain upon their own soil.

9 Sobre los profetas mi corazón está roto en mí, todos mis huesos están temblando; Soy como un hombre ebrio, como un hombre vencido por el vino; por el Señor, y por sus santas palabras.

As for the prophets, —Broken is my heart within me Trembled have all my bones, I have become as a drunken man, And as a strong man whom wine hath overcome, —Because of Yahweh, And because of his holy words.

10 Porque la tierra está llena de hombres que no son fieles a sus esposas; a causa de la maldición, la tierra está llena de dolor; los campos verdes de los terrenos baldíos se han secado; y se apresuran a hacer el mal, su fuerza es para lo que no está bien.

For with adulterers, is the land filled, Yea because of cursing, doth the land mourn, Dried up are the oases of the desert, —And, their oppression hath become wicked, And, their might is not right.

11 Porque el profeta y el sacerdote son inmundos; incluso en mi casa he visto su maldad, dice el Señor.

For both prophet and priest, are profane, —Even in my house, have I found their wickedness, Declareth Yahweh.

12 Por esta causa, su camino será como resbaladero; serán empujados a la oscuridad y caerán allí, porque les enviaré el mal en el año de su castigo, dice el Señor.

Therefore, shall their way become to them like slippery places in darkness, They shall be driven on and shall fall therein, —For I will bring in upon them calamity—The year of their visitation, Declareth Yahweh.

13 Y he visto caminos sin sentido en los profetas de Samaria; se convirtieron en profetas de Baal, causando que mi pueblo Israel se desvíe.

Even among the prophets of Samaria, had I seen a foolish thing, —They prophesied by Baal, And led astray my people Israel.

14 Y en los profetas de Jerusalén he visto algo espantoso; no son fieles a sus esposas, caminan en engaño, y hacen fuertes las manos de los malhechores, para que un hombre no pueda ser rechazado de su maldad; todos se han vuelto como Sodoma para mí, y su gente es como Gomorra.

But among the prophets of Jerusalem, have I seen a horrible thing, —Committing adultery, And walking in falsehood, And so strengthening the hands of doers of wickedness, not to return any man from his wickedness: They have all of them become to me as Sodom, And her inhabitants as Gomorrah.

15 Así que esto es lo que el Señor de los ejércitos ha dicho acerca de los profetas: Mira, les daré una planta amarga para su comida y agua amarga para su bebida; porque de los profetas de Jerusalén ha salido el comportamiento inmundo a toda la tierra.

Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts Concerning the prophets, —Behold me! Feeding them with wormwood, And I will cause them to drink poisoned water, —For from the prophets of Jerusalem, hath there gone forth profanity unto all the land.

16 Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: No escuches las palabras que te dicen los profetas; te dan enseñanzas sin valor; es de ellos mismos que su visión viene, y no de la boca del Señor.

Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Do not hearken unto the words of the prophets who are prophesying unto you, They are filling you, with vain hopes, —The vision of their own hearts, do they speak, Not from the mouth of Yahweh!

17 Siguen diciendo a los que no respetan la palabra del Señor: Tendrás paz; y a todos los que van por el orgullo de su corazón, dicen: No vendrá a ti maldad.

They keep on saying to them who despise me, Yahweh, hath spoken, saying, Prosperity, shall ye have! And to every one who is going on in the stubbornness of his own heart, have they said, There shall come on you, no calamity

18 ¿Por cuál de ellos tiene conocimiento del secreto del Señor, y lo ha visto y ha escuchado su palabra? ¿Cuál de ellos ha tomado nota de su palabra y le ha prestado atención?

For who hath stood in the council of Yahweh, that he should see and hear his word? Who hath given ear to his word and heard it?

19 Mira, el viento de la tormenta del Señor, incluso el calor de su ira, se ha extinguido, una tormenta giratoria, que estalla en las cabezas de los malhechores.

Lo! the tempest of Yahweh! Indignation, hath come forth, Even a tempest whirling along: On the head of the lawless, shall it hurl itself down.

20 La ira del Señor no volverá hasta que él haya terminado, hasta que él haya puesto en práctica los propósitos de su corazón; en los postreros próximos días lo entenderán todo esto.

The anger of Yahweh, wilt not return, Until he hath executed nor Until he hath established The purposes of his heart, —In the afterpart of the days, shall ye understand it perfectly.

21 No envié a estos profetas, sino que salieron corriendo; no les dije nada, pero repartieron la palabra del profeta.

I sent not the prophets yet they, ran, I spake not unto them yet, they, prophesied.

22 Pero si hubieran estado en mi secreto, entonces habrían hecho que mi pueblo escuchara mis palabras, apartándolos de su mal camino y del mal de sus obras.

But if they had stood in my council, Then might they have announced my words unto my people, And have turned them from their wicked way and from the wickedness of their doings.

23 ¿Soy solo un Dios que está cerca, dice el Señor, y no un Dios a distancia?

Am I, a God at hand, Demandeth Yahweh, And not a God afar off?

24 ¿En qué lugar secreto puede un hombre ponerse a cubierto sin que yo lo vea? dice el Señor ¿Hay algún lugar en el cielo o en la tierra donde no esté? dice el Señor.

Can any hide himself in secret places that I, shall not see him? Demandeth Yahweh, —The heavens and the earth, do I not fill? Demandeth Yahweh.

25 Mis oídos han estado abiertos a lo que han dicho los profetas, quienes dicen palabras falsas en mi nombre, diciendo: He tenido un sueño, he tenido un sueño,

I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy in my name falsely, saying, —I have dreamed! I have dreamed!

26 ¿Está mi palabra en los corazones de los profetas que dan palabras falsas, incluso los profetas que proclaman el engaño de sus corazones?

How long shall it be in the heart of the prophets, To be prophets of falsehood, —And prophets of the deceit of their own heart?

27 Cuyo propósito es quitar el recuerdo de mi nombre de mi pueblo a través de sus sueños, de los cuales todo hombre está hablando a su prójimo, como sus padres renunciaron al recuerdo de mi nombre por causa de Baal.

Who lay a plot to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they relate every man to his neighbour, —Just as their fathers forgat, my name, for Baal.

28 Si un profeta tiene un sueño, que dé su sueño; y el que tenga mi palabra, que pronuncie mi palabra de buena fe. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el grano? dice el Señor.

The prophet with whom is a dream, Let him relate it as a dream, And he with whom is my word, Let him speak my word as truth, —What is the chaff to the wheat? Demandeth Yahweh:

29 ¿No es mi palabra fuego? dice el Señor Y como un martillo, rompiendo la roca en pedazos?

Is not my word, like this, Like fire? Demandeth Yahweh, —And like a hammer, that breaketh in pieces a cliff?

30 Por esta causa estoy en contra de los profetas, dice el Señor, quienes se roban mis palabras, cada uno de su prójimo.

Therefore! behold me! against the prophets, Declareth Yahweh, —who steal my words, every man from his neighbour:

31 Mira, yo estoy contra los profetas, dice el Señor, que deja que sus lenguas digan, Él ha dicho.

Behold me! against the prophets, Declareth Yahweh, who presume with their tongue and declare He declareth:

32 Mira, estoy en contra de los profetas de los sueños falsos, dice el Señor, quien los cuentan y hacen que mi pueblo se desvíe del camino por sus engaños y sus habladurías; pero yo no los envié ni les di órdenes; y no servirán de nada a este pueblo, dice el Señor.

Behold me! against such as prophesy the dreams of falsehood, Declareth Yahweh, who have related them and led astray my people, with their falsehoods and with their recklessness, —whereas, I, had not sent them nor commanded them, so that they could be of no, profit, to this people, Declareth Yahweh.

33 Y si esta gente, o el profeta, o un sacerdote, preguntándote, dice: Cual es la carga del Señor? entonces tienes que decirles: Cuál carga? yo te abandonare, dice el Señor.

But when this people or a prophet or a priest shall ask thee saying What is the oracle of Yahweh? Then shalt thou say unto them Ye, yourselves, are the oracle, Therefore will I reject you Declareth Yahweh;

34 Y en cuanto al profeta y al sacerdote y a la gente que dice: Profecía del Señor! Enviaré castigo a ese hombre y a su casa.

But the prophet, or the priest or the people who shall say—the oracle of Yahweh, I will bring punishment upon that man and upon his house.

35 Pero esto es lo que debes decir, cada hombre a su prójimo y cada hombre a su hermano, ¿qué respuesta ha dado el Señor? y ¿qué ha dicho el señor?

Thus, shall ye say—every man unto his neighbour and every man unto his brother, —What hath Yahweh, answered? or, What hath Yahweh, spoken?

36 Y no volverás a recordar a la gente la palabra de profecía del Señor; porque la palabra de cada hombre le será por profecía sobre sí mismo; porque las palabras del Dios viviente, del Señor de los ejércitos, nuestro Dios, han sido pervertidas por ti.

but the oracle of Yahweh, shall ye not mention, any more, —for, every man’s oracle, shall be his own word, because ye have perverted the words of a Living God, Yahweh of hosts our God.

37 Esto es lo que debes decirle al profeta: ¿Qué respuesta te ha dado el Señor? y ¿qué ha dicho el señor?

Thus, shalt thou say unto the prophet, —What hath Yahweh, answered thee? or What hath Yahweh, spoken?

38 Pero si dices: profecía del Señor; esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho; porque dices: Profecía del Señor, y yo te he enviado, diciendo: No debes decir, profecía del Señor;

But, since ye keep on saying, The Oracle of Yahweh, therefore, Thus saith Yahweh, Because ye have said this word, The oracle of Yahweh, whereas I had sent unto you saying, Ye shall not say, The oracle of Yahweh

39 Por esta razón, de verdad, te sacaré completamente de mi memoria, y te pondré, y el pueblo que te di a ti y a tus padres, lejos de mi rostro:

therefore, behold me! I will lift you up, —and carry you away, and the city which I gave to you and to your fathers from before my face;

40 Y te daré un nombre sin honor para siempre, y vergüenza incesante que nunca saldrá de la memoria de los hombres.

and will give unto you reproach age-abiding, —and disgrace age-abiding, which shall not be forgotten.
