Jeremías 21
1 La palabra que vino a Jeremías de parte del Señor, cuando el rey Sedequías le envió a Pasur, el hijo de Malquías, y a Sofonías, hijo del sacerdote de Maasías, diciendo:
The word which was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, whanne king Sedechie sente to hym Phassur, the sone of Helchie, and Sofonye, the preest, the sone of Maasie, and seide,
2 ¿Recibirás instrucciones del Señor para nosotros? porque Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, está haciendo guerra contra nosotros; puede ser que el Señor haga algo por nosotros como todas las maravillas que ha hecho, y lo haga alejarse de nosotros.
Axe thou the Lord for vs, for Nabugodonosor, the kyng of Babiloyne, fiytith ayens vs; if in hap the Lord do with vs bi alle hise merueilis, and he go awei fro vs.
3 Entonces Jeremías les dijo: Esto es lo que debes decirle a Sedequías:
And Jeremye seide to hem, Thus ye schulen seie to Sedechie,
4 El Señor Dios de Israel ha dicho: Mira, estoy devolviendo los instrumentos de guerra en tus manos, con los que estás luchando contra el rey de Babilonia y los caldeos, que están fuera de los muros y te están encerrando; Y los reuniré dentro de este pueblo.
The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal turne the instrumentis of batel that ben in youre hondis, and with which ye fiyten ayens the king of Babiloyne, and ayens Caldeis, that bisegen you in the cumpas of wallis; and Y schal gadere tho togidere in the myddis of this citee.
5 Y yo mismo lucharé contra ti con una mano extendida y con un brazo fuerte, incluso con sentimiento de enojo y pasión y con gran ira.
And Y schal ouercome you in hond stretchid forth, and in strong arm, and in stronge veniaunce, and indignacioun, and in greet wraththe;
6 Y enviaré una gran enfermedad a las personas que viven en este pueblo, al hombre y a la bestia, causando su muerte.
and Y schal smyte the dwelleris of this citee, men and beestis schulen die bi greet pestilence.
7 Y después de eso, dice el Señor, abandonaré a Sedequías, rey de Judá, a sus siervos y a su pueblo, incluso a aquellos en la ciudad que no han llegado a su fin por la enfermedad y la espada y por la necesidad de comida, en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y en manos de sus enemigos, y en manos de los que desean su muerte; los pondrá a la espada; no dejará que nadie se escape, no tendrá piedad ni misericordia.
And after these thingis, seith the Lord, Y schal yyue Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and hise seruauntis, and his puple, and that ben left in this citee fro pestilence, and swerd, and hungur, in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of her enemyes, and in the hond of men sekynge the lijf of hem; and he schal smyte hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd; and he schal not be bowid, nether schal spare, nether schal haue mercy.
8 Y a este pueblo tienes que decir: El Señor ha dicho: Mira, te presento el camino de la vida y el camino de la muerte.
And thou schalt seie to this puple, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y yyue bifore you the weie of lijf, and the weie of deth.
9 El que permanezca en este pueblo morirá por la espada y por necesidad de comida y por enfermedad; pero el que sale y se entrega a los caldeos que te están cercando, seguirá viviendo y mantendrá su vida a salvo.
He that dwellith in this citee, schal die bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence; but he that goith out, and fleeth ouer to Caldeis that bisegen you, schal lyue, and his lijf schal be as a prey to hym.
10 Porque mi rostro se vuelve hacia este pueblo para mal y no para bien, dice el Señor. Será entregado en manos del rey de Babilonia, y él lo quemará con fuego.
For Y haue set my face on this citee in to yuel, and not in to good, seith the Lord; it schal be youun in the hond of the king of Babiloyne, and he schal brenne it with fier.
11 Sobre la familia del rey de Judá. Escucha la palabra del Señor;
And thou schalt seie to the hous of the king of Juda, the hous of Dauid, Here ye the word of the Lord.
12 Oh familia de David, esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: Haz lo que es correcto en la mañana, y libérate de las manos del opresor, al oprimido a quien le han quitado los bienes violentamente, o mi ira como el fuego se enciende para que nadie lo pueda apagar, a causa del mal de tus obras.
The Lord seith these thingis, Deme ye eerli doom, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; lest perauenture myn indignacioun go out as fier, and be kyndlid, and noon be that quenche, for the malice of youre studies.
13 Mira, yo estoy contra ti, tú que vives en el valle, roca de la llanura dice el Señor; Tú que dices: ¿Quién vendrá contra nosotros? ¿O quién entrará en nuestras casas?
Lo! Y to thee, dwelleresse of the sad valei and pleyn, seith the Lord, which seien, Who schal smyte vs, and who schal entre in to oure housis?
14 Te enviaré un castigo de acuerdo con el fruto de tus obras, dice el Señor, y pondré fuego en sus bosques, quemando todo a su alrededor.
And Y schal visite on you bi the fruyt of youre studies, seith the Lord; and Y schal kyndle fier in the forest therof, and it schal deuoure alle thingis in the cumpas therof.
