Jeremías 15

1 Entonces el Señor me dijo: Aunque Moisés y Samuel vinieran ante mí, Mi voluntad no está con este pueblo; aléjalos de delante de mí y déjalos ir.

And the Lord said unto me, If Moses and Samuel were to stand before me, my favor would [still] not be toward this people: send them away out of my sight, that they may go forth.

2 Y será cuando te digan: ¿A dónde iremos? entonces tienes que decirles: El Señor ha dicho: Los que son para la muerte, para la muerte; y los que son para la espada, para la espada; y los que se mueran de hambre, morirán de hambre; y como los que han de ser llevados prisioneros, serán prisioneros.

And it shall come to pass, if they should say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth, that thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord, Such as are destined to death, to death; and such as are destined to the sword, to the sword; and such as are destined to famine, to famine; and such as are destined to captivity, to captivity.

3 Y pondré sobre ellos cuatro clases de males, dice el Señor: la espada que causa la muerte, los perros que arrastran a los cuerpos muertos, y las aves del cielo, y las bestias de la tierra para devorar sus cuerpos y destruirlos.

And I will appoint over them four species, saith the Lord: The sword to slay, and the dogs to drag away, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and to destroy.

4 Y les haré temer a todos los reinos de la tierra, a causa de Manasés, el hijo de Ezequías, rey de Judá, y lo que hizo en Jerusalén.

And I will cause them to become a horror unto all the kingdoms of the earth, on account of Menasseh the son of Hezekiah the king of Judah, because of what he did in Jerusalem.

5 Porque ¿quién tendrá compasión de ti, oh Jerusalén? ¿Y quién tendrá pena por ti? o ¿quién va a salir de su camino para ver cómo estás?

For who will have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who will condole with thee? or who will go aside to ask after thy welfare?

6 Me has dejado, dice el Señor, me diste la espalda, así que mi mano se extiende contra ti para tu destrucción; Estoy cansado de cambiar mi propósito.

Thou hast indeed forsaken me, saith the Lord, thou art gone backward; therefore do I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee: I am weary with repenting.

7 Y les he esparcido como la paja a los lugares públicos de la tierra; Les he quitado a sus hijos; Yo he dado a mi pueblo a la destrucción; No se han apartado de sus caminos.

And I winnow them with a fan in the gates of the land: I make childless, I annihilate my people, [since] from their ways they have not turned away.

8 He dejado que sus viudas se incrementen en número más que la arena de los mares; he enviado contra ellos, contra la madre y los jóvenes, al destructor al mediodía, causando dolor y pavor para venir sobre ella de repente.

Their widows are more numerous before me than the sand of the seas: I bring unto them, over the mothers of the young men, a waster at noonday; I cause to fall upon her suddenly the enemy with [his] terrors.

9 La madre de siete no tiene fuerzas; su espíritu se ha ido de ella, su sol se ha puesto mientras aún es de día; ha sido avergonzada y vencida; y el resto de ellos los entregaré a la espada ante sus enemigos, dice el Señor.

She that had born seven children fadeth away; she breatheth out her soul, her sun is set while it is yet day; she is made ashamed and put to the blush: —and their residue will I give up to the sword before their enemies, saith the Lord.

10 El dolor es mío, madre mía, porque me has dado a luz, ¡motivo de lucha y discusión en toda la tierra! No he convertido a los hombres en mis acreedores y no estoy en deuda con ninguno, pero cada uno de ellos me está maldiciendo.

Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast born me, a man of contention and a man of strife to the whole land! I have not lent, nor have men lent to me: [yet] every one of them curseth me.

11 Él Señor dijo: ciertamente te libraré para bien; haré que él enemigo te salga a recibir en él tiempo de calamidad y en él tiempo de angustia.

The Lord said, Truly I will release thee for [thy] good; truly I will cause the enemy to meet thee in the time of distress and in the time of affliction.

12 ¿Es posible que se rompa el hierro? ¿Incluso hierro del norte, y él bronce?

Can iron break in pieces the northern iron and copper?

13 Daré tu riqueza y tus reservas a tus atacantes, sin precio, por todos tus pecados, incluso en cada parte de tus fronteras.

Thy wealth and thy treasures will I give up as spoil without price, and this for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.

14 Se irán con tus enemigos a una tierra que te es extraña, porque mi ira está en llamas con una llama que arderá sobre ustedes.

And I will cause them to pass over with thy enemies into a land which thou knowest not; for a fire is kindled in my anger, over you shall it burn.

15 Señor, tú tienes conocimiento; tenme presente y ven en mi ayuda, y véngame de los que me están atacando; conforme a tu paciencia, no permitas que yo sea arrebatado; mira cómo he sufrido vergüenza por ti;

Thou well knowest it, O Lord! remember me and think of me, and avenge me on my persecutors; not according to thy long-suffering act thou for me: know, that for thy sake I have borne shame.

16 Pero para mí tu palabra es una alegría, que mi corazón se alegre; porque me llamas por tu nombre, oh Señor Dios de los ejércitos.

When thy words were made manifest to me, then I greedily received them; and thy word became unto me the gladness and joy of my heart; for thy name is called upon me, O Lord of hosts.

17 No me senté entre la banda de los que se alegran, y no tuve alegría; Me quedé solo por tu mano; porque me has llenado de ira.

I sat not in the assembly of the mirthful, and was rejoiced; because of thy inspiration I sat solitary; for thou hadst filled me with indignation.

18 ¿Por qué mi dolor es interminable y mi herida sin esperanza de sanar? El dolor es mío, serás para mí como una corriente que ofrece falsas esperanzas y como aguas que no son seguras.

Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable? it refuseth to be healed; it is truly become unto me as a deceptive spring, as waters that are not reliable.

19 Por esta causa, el Señor ha dicho: Si vuelves, te dejaré tomar tu lugar delante de mí; y si sacaras lo valioso de lo vil, serás él que hablé de mi parte; que regresen ellos a ti, pero tu no no regreses a ellos.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord, If thou return, and I bring thee back again, then shalt thou stand before me; and if thou bring forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: these shall return unto thee; but thou shalt not return unto them.

20 Y te haré un fuerte muro de bronce para este pueblo; lucharán contra ti, pero no te vencerán, porque yo estoy contigo para protegerte, dice el Señor.

And I will make thee unto this people as a fortified brazen wall; and they will fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

21 Te mantendré a salvo de las manos de los malhechores, y te daré la salvación de las manos de los crueles.

And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the grasp of the tyrants.
