Jeremías 14
1 La palabra del Señor vino a Jeremías respecto a la sequía.
The word of the Lord, that was maad to Jeremye, of the wordis of dryenesse.
2 Judá está llorando y sus puertas están negras de luto, y la gente está sentada en el suelo vestida de negro; Y el clamor de Jerusalén ha subido.
Jude weilide, and the yatis therof fellen doun, and ben maad derk in erthe, and the cry of Jerusalem stiede.
3 Sus nobles han enviado a sus siervos a buscar agua; llegan a las cisternas y no hay agua para beber; vuelven sin nada en sus vasijas. Quedaron avergonzados y humillados, y cubrieron sus cabezas.
Grettere men senten her lesse men to water; thei camen to drawe watir, and thei foundun no water, thei brouyten ayen her vessels voide; thei weren schent and turmentid,
4 La tierra está agrietada, porque no ha llovido en la tierra, y los labradores están decepcionados y se cubren la cabeza.
and thei hiliden her heedis for distriyng of the lond, for reyn cam not in the lond. Erthe tilieris weren schent, thei hiliden her heedis.
5 Y las ciervas, que dan a luz en el campo, descuidan a su cría, porque no hay pasto.
For whi and an hynde caluyde in the feeld, and lefte her calues, for noon eerbe was;
6 Y los asnos del campo en las colinas abiertas están abriendo sus bocas como chacales para tomar aire; Sus ojos se cegaron porque no hay hierba que comer.
and wield assis stoden in rochis, and drowen wynde as dragouns; her iyen failiden, for noon eerbe was.
7 Aunque nuestros pecados dan testimonio contra nosotros, haz algo, Señor, por el honor de tu nombre; porque una y otra vez hemos sido infieles, hemos hecho el mal contra ti.
If oure wickidnessis answeren to vs, Lord, do thou for thi name, for oure turnyngis awei ben manye; we han synned ayens thee.
8 Oh esperanza de Israel, su salvador en el tiempo de angustia, ¿por qué eres como alguien que es extraño en la tierra y como un viajero que pone su tienda de campaña por una noche? M
Thou abidyng of Israel, the sauyour therof in the tyme of tribulacioun,
9 ¿Por qué eres como un hombre sorprendido, como un hombre de guerra que no puede ayudar? pero tú, oh Señor, estás con nosotros, por tu nombre somos llamados; No te alejes de nosotros.
whi schalt thou be as a comelyng in the lond, and as a weigoere bowynge to dwelle? whi schalt thou be as a man of vnstable dwellyng, as a strong man that mai not saue? Forsothe, Lord, thou art in vs, and thin hooli name is clepid to help on vs; forsake thou not vs.
10 Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho acerca de este pueblo; así se han alegrado de ir por el camino errante; no han evitado que sus pies vayan de un lado a otro, por lo que el Señor no tiene placer en ellos; ahora él tendrá en mente sus errores y enviará un castigo por sus pecados.
The Lord seith these thingis to this puple, that louede to stire hise feet, and restide not, and pleside not the Lord; now he schal haue mynde on the wickidnesses of hem, and he schal visite the synnes of hem.
11 Y el Señor me dijo: No hagas oración por el bienestar de este pueblo.
And the Lord seide to me, Nyle thou preie for this puple in to good.
12 Cuando ayunen, no escucharé su clamor; Cuando ofrezcan holocaustohagan y ofrendas de cereales, no los aceptaré, sino que los acabaré con la espada, con hambre y con la enfermedad.
Whanne thei schulen faste, Y schal not here the preieris of hem; and if thei offren brent sacrifices and slayn sacrifices, Y schal not resseyue tho, for Y schal waste hem bi swerd and hungur and pestilence.
13 Entonces dije: ¡Ah, Señor Dios! mira, los profetas les dicen: No verás la espada ni les faltarán alimentos; Pero te daré cierta paz en este lugar.
And Y seide, A! A! A! Lord God, profetis seien to hem, Ye schulen not se swerd, and hungur schal not be in you, but he schal yyue to you veri pees in this place.
14 Entonces el Señor me dijo: Los profetas dicen palabras falsas en mi nombre, y yo no les di órdenes, y no les dije nada; lo que te dicen es una visión falsa, adivinación, vanidad y el engaño de sus corazones.
And the Lord seide to me, The profetis profesien falsli in my name; Y sente not hem, and Y comaundide not to hem, nether Y spak to hem; thei profesien to you a fals reuelacioun, and a gileful dyuynyng, and the disseyuyng of her herte.
15 Así que esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho acerca de los profetas que hacen uso de mi nombre, aunque yo no los envié, y que dicen: espada ni hambre habrá en esta tierra; por espada y de hambre perecerán estos profetas.
Therfor the Lord seith these thingis of the profetis that profesien in my name, whiche Y sente not, and seien, Swerd and hungur schal not be in this lond; Tho profetis schulen be wastid bi swerd and hungur.
16 Y las personas de quienes son profetas serán arrojadas a las calles de Jerusalén, porque no hay comida, y por la espada; y no tendrán a nadie que los entierre, ni a ellos ni a sus esposas, ni a sus hijos ni a sus hijas, porque dejaré que se les haga el mal.
And the puplis, to whiche thei profesieden, schulen be cast forth in the weies of Jerusalem, for hungur and swerd, and noon schal be, that schal birie hem; they and the wyues of hem, the sones and the douytris of hem `schulen be cast forth; and Y schal schede out on hem her yuel.
17 Y tienes que decirles esta palabra: “Que mis ojos estén llenos de lágrimas noche y día, sin cesar” porque la hija virgen de mi pueblo está herida con una gran herida, con un golpe muy amargo.
And thou schalt seie to hem this word, Myn iyen lede doun a teer bi niyt and dai, and be not stille, for the virgyn, the douyter of my puple, is defoulid bi greet defoulying, with the worste wounde greetli.
18 ¡Si salgo al campo abierto, hay quienes son ejecutados por la espada! ¡Y si entro a la ciudad, hay personas enfermas de hambre! porque aún el profeta y el sacerdote andan errantes en un lugar desconocido.
If Y go out to feeldis, lo! men ben slayn bi swerd; and if Y entre in to the citee, lo! men ben maad leene for hungur; also a profete and a prest yeden in to the lond which thei knewen not.
19 ¿Has renunciado completamente a Judá? ¿Tu alma ha aborrecido a Sión? ¿Por qué nos has dado golpes de los que no hay nadie que nos cure? Estábamos buscando la paz, pero no vino nada bueno; y por un tiempo de bienestar, pero solo hubo un gran temor.
Whether thou castynge awei hast cast awei Juda, ether thi soule hath wlatid Sion? whi therfor hast thou smyte vs, so that noon heelthe is? We abididen pees, and no good is; and we abididen time of heeling, and lo! disturbling is.
20 Somos conscientes, oh Señor, de nuestro pecado y de la maldad de nuestros padres; hemos hecho lo malo contra ti.
Lord, we han know oure vnfeithfulnessis, and the wickidnessis of oure fadris, for we han synned to thee.
21 No te apartes de nosotros, por amor a tu nombre; No avergüences el trono de tu gloria; ten en cuenta, que no se rompa tu pacto con nosotros.
Yyue thou not vs in to schenschip, for thi name, nether do thou dispite to vs; haue thou mynde on the seete of thi glorie, make thou not voide thi boond of pees with vs.
22 ¿Alguno de los dioses falsos de las naciones puede hacer llover? ¿Pueden los cielos dar aguaceros? ¿No eres tú, Señor nuestro Dios? Así que seguiremos esperando, porque has hecho todas estas cosas.
Whether in grauun ymagis of hethene men ben thei that reynen, ethir heuenes moun yyue reynes? whether thou art not oure Lord God, whom we abididen? For thou madist alle these thingis.
