Jeremías 12

1 Estás en lo correcto, oh Señor, cuando expongo mi causa; aún así permíteme hacerte una pregunta: ¿por qué le va bien al malvado? ¿Por qué los que hacen el engaño viven cómodamente?

Righteous art thou, Jehovah, when I plead with thee; yet will I speak with thee of [thy] judgments. Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? [wherefore] are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?

2 Han sido plantados por ti, han echado raíces; siguen y dan fruto; estás cerca de sus labios, pero en su interior lejos de ti.

Thou hast planted them, they also have taken root: they advance, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, but far from their reins.

3 Mas tú, oh Señor, tú me conoces; Me ves, has visto y probando cómo está mi corazón para contigo; que sean sacados como ovejas, para que sean sacrificados, que estén listos para el día de la muerte.

But thou, Jehovah, knowest me; thou hast seen me, and proved my heart toward thee. Drag them out like sheep for the slaughter, and set them apart for the day of slaughter.

4 ¿Por cuánto tiempo la tierra tendrá pena, y las plantas de toda la tierra estarán secas? debido a los pecados de las personas que viven en ella, la destrucción ha sobrepasado a las bestias y las aves; porque decían, Dios no ve nuestros caminos.

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of all the fields wither? Because of the wickedness of them that dwell therein, the beasts and the birds perish; for they say, He will not see our end.

5 Si correr con los hombres de combate te ha cansado, ¿cómo vas a poder seguir el ritmo de los caballos? y si en una tierra de paz te cansaron, ¿qué será de ti en el espeso crecimiento del Jordán?

If thou hast run with footmen, and they have wearied thee, how wilt thou then contend with horses? And if in a land of peace thou thinkest thyself in security, how wilt thou then do in the swelling of the Jordan?

6 Incluso por tus hermanos, la familia de tu padre, incluso ellos te han traicionado, gritando ruidosamente en pos de ti; no creas en ellos, aunque te digan palabras agradables.

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee, even they have cried aloud after thee. Believe them not, though they speak good [words] unto thee.

7 He abandonado mi casa, he dejado ir mi herencia; He entregado la amada de mi alma en manos de sus enemigos.

I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage, I have given the beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

8 Mi herencia se ha convertido para mí como un león en el bosque; su voz ha sido fuerte contra mí; así que tengo odio por ella.

My heritage is become unto me as a lion in the forest; it hath raised its voice against me: therefore have I hated it.

9 Mi herencia es como un pájaro de colores brillantes para mí; las crueles aves la están atacando por todos lados; ve, reúne a todas las bestias del campo, haz que vengan a devorarla.

My heritage is unto me [as] a speckled bird of prey; the birds of prey round about are against her. Go, assemble all the beasts of the field, bring them to devour.

10 Los guardianes de las ovejas han sido la destrucción de mi jardín de viñas, aplastando mi herencia bajo sus pies; han hecho de mi preciosa heredad un desierto desolado;

Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness:

11 Lo han hecho desolado; Me está llorando, desolado; Toda la tierra ha sido desolada, no hubo ningún hombre la tomara en serio.

they have made it a desolation; desolate, it mourneth unto me: the whole land is made desolate, for no man layeth it to heart.

12 Los que causan la desolación han venido a todas las colinas del desierto; porque la espada del Señor envía destrucción de un extremo de la tierra al otro extremo de la tierra; ningún ser humano tiene paz.

Spoilers are come upon all heights in the wilderness; for the sword of Jehovah devoureth from one end of the land even to the [other] end of the land: no flesh hath peace.

13 A pesar de que se sembró buen grano, cosecharon espinas; han trabajado en vano. Serán avergonzados por su producto, debido a la ira ardiente del Señor.

They have sown wheat, and they reap thorns; they have put themselves to pain, [and] do not profit. Be ye therefore ashamed of your revenues, because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.

14 Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho contra todos malvados vecinos, quienes pusieron sus manos sobre la herencia que le di a mi pueblo Israel: Mira, los sacaré de sus tierras, desarraigando al pueblo de Judá de entre ellos.

Thus saith Jehovah against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

15 Y sucederá que, después de que hayan sido desarraigados, volveré a tener piedad de ellos; y los devolveré, cada uno a su herencia y cada uno a su tierra.

And it shall come to pass, after I have plucked them up, I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them back, each one to his inheritance, and each one to his land.

16 Y será que, si se dedican a aprender los caminos de mi pueblo, usando mi nombre en sus juramentos: vive él Señor; como han estado enseñando a mi pueblo a hacer juramentos por el Baal; entonces su lugar será asegurado entre mi pueblo.

And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, [As] Jehovah liveth — even as they taught my people to swear by Baal — they shall be built up in the midst of my people.

17 Pero si ellos no escuchan, entonces arrancaré de la raíz esa nación y la destruiré, dice el Señor.

And if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith Jehovah.
