Isaías 64
1 Oh si rasgaras los cielos y bajaras, para que los montes tiemblen ante tu presencia.
“[Yahweh], I wish that you would tear open the sky and come down, and cause the mountains to shake in your presence.
2 Como cuando el fuego pone la maleza en llamas, o como cuando el agua hierve por el calor del fuego; para hacer que tu nombre sea temido por tus enemigos, para que las naciones tiemblen ante ti.
[Be] like a fire that burns twigs and causes water to boil! [Come down] in order that your enemies will know who you are, and the [people of other] nations will tremble in your presence.
3 Cuando hiciste actos de poder que no estábamos buscando, y descendiste, las montañas temblaron ante tu presencia.
You have done awesome things which we were not expecting you to do; the mountains shook when you came down [at Horeb Mountain].
4 El oído no ha oído, o el ojo no ha visto, ningún Dios, excepto a ti, trabajando para el hombre que lo está esperando.
Since (long ago/the world began), no one [SYN] has [ever] seen or heard about a God like you; you help those who (depend on/trust in) you.
5 ¿No tendrás misericordia de aquel que se complace en hacer justicia, incluso de aquellos que tienen presente tus caminos? Verdaderamente estabas enojado, y seguimos haciendo el mal y pecando contra ti en el pasado. Tus caminos son perpetuos Y seremos salvos.
You help those who joyfully do what is right, those who conduct their lives as you want them to. But [we did not do that]; we continued to sin, and so you became angry with us. We have been sinning for a long time, so only if we continually do what you want us to do will we be saved.
6 Porque todos hemos llegado a ser como una persona inmunda, y todos nuestros buenos actos son como una túnica sucia, y todos nos marchitamos como una hoja muerta, y nuestros pecados, nos arrastran como el viento.
We have all become people who are not fit to worship you; all of the good things that we have done are only like [SIM] filthy/blood-stained rags. Because of our sins, we are like [SIM] leaves that dry up and are blown away by the wind.
7 Y no hay nadie que haga oración en tu nombre, o que se agarre de ti; porque tu rostro está oculto de nosotros, y nos has entregado al poder de nuestros pecados.
None [of our people] worships you, and no one is completely dedicated to [IDM] you. You have turned away from us. [It is as though] you have caused us to be forced to continue our sinful behavior.
8 Pero ahora, oh Señor, tú eres nuestro padre; Nosotros somos el barro, y tú eres nuestro alfarero y todos somos obra de tu mano.
Yahweh, you are our father. We are [like] [MET] clay, and you created us, [like] [MET] a potter [creates pottery].
9 No te enojes mucho, Señor, y no tengas en mente nuestros pecados para siempre; escucha nuestra oración, porque todos somos tu pueblo.
Yahweh, do not continue to be angry [with us]; do not keep thinking about [our] sins forever. Do not forget that we are all your people.
10 Tus ciudades santas se han convertido en un desperdicio, Sión se ha convertido en un desperdicio, Jerusalén es una masa de muros rotos.
[All of] your towns [in Judah] have become like [MET] deserts; [even] Jerusalem has been destroyed.
11 Nuestra santa y hermosa casa, donde nuestros padres te alabaron, está quemada con fuego; y todas las cosas preciosas para nosotros han sido destruidas.
Your glorious temple on Zion Hill, where our ancestors worshiped you, has been destroyed by fire. And all our [other] beautiful things have been ruined.
12 En vista de todo esto, ¿todavía no harás nada, Señor? ¿Te callarás y seguirás aumentando nuestro castigo?
Yahweh, you see all those things, so we worry that you will refrain [from helping us], and that you will cause us to suffer much more.
