Isaías 6
1 En el año de la muerte del rey Uzías, vi al Señor sentado en su lugar, alto y elevado, y el Templo estaba lleno de las amplias orlas de su túnica.
In the year of the death of king Uzziah, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple.
2 Sobre él estaban los serafines: cada uno tenía seis alas; dos para cubrir su rostro, dos para cubrir sus pies y dos para volar.
Seraphim were standing above him: each had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he flew.
3 Y uno dijo en voz alta a otro: Santo, santo, santo, es el Señor de los ejércitos; toda la tierra está llena de su gloria.
And one called to the other and said, Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!
4 Y las bases de los pilares de las puertas temblaban al oír su clamor, y la casa estaba llena de humo.
And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Entonces dije: La maldición está sobre mí, y mi destino es la destrucción; porque soy hombre de labios inmundos, que vivo entre gente de labios inmundos; porque mis ojos han visto al rey, el señor de los ejércitos.
And I said, Woe unto me! for I am undone; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.
6 Entonces vino a mí un serafín con un carbón ardiendo en su mano, que había sacado del altar con las tenazas de fuego.
And one of the seraphim flew unto me, and he had in his hand a glowing coal, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;
7 Y después de tocar mi boca con él, dijo: Mira, tus labios han sido tocados con esto; y tu mal es quitado, y eres limpio del pecado.
and he made it touch my mouth, and said, Behold, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin expiated.
8 Y la voz del Señor vino a mis oídos, diciendo: ¿A quién enviaré, y quién irá por nosotros? Entonces dije: Heme aquí, envíame.
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said, Here am I; send me.
9 Y él dijo: Ve y dile a este pueblo: Seguirás escuchando, pero sin aprender nada; Seguirás viendo, pero sin ser más sabio.
And he said, Go; and thou shalt say unto this people, Hearing ye shall hear and shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see and shall not perceive.
10 Engruesa los corazones de este pueblo, y endurece sus oídos, y cierra sus ojos; por temor a que vean con sus ojos, y oigan con sus oídos, y su corazón se vuelva sabio, y puedan volverse hacia mí y sean sanados.
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and healed.
11 Entonces dije: Señor, ¿hasta cuándo? Y él respondió en respuesta: Hasta que las ciudades estén destruidas y despobladas, y las casas no tengan hombres, y la tierra se convierta en un completo abandono.
And I said, Lord, how long? And he said, Until the cities be wasted, without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land become an utter desolation,
12 Y el Señor ha llevado a los hombres lejos, y sea abandonado el país.
and Jehovah have removed men far away, and the solitude be great in the midst of the land.
13 E incluso si todavía hay una décima parte, se quemará de nuevo, como un árbol del bosque cuyo extremo roto todavía está en la tierra después de que el árbol haya sido cortado, la semilla sagrada, es el tronco.
But a tenth part shall still be therein, and it shall return and be eaten; as the terebinth and as the oak whose trunk [remaineth] after the felling: the holy seed shall be the trunk thereof.
