Isaías 59
1 En verdad, la mano del Señor no se ha acortado, por lo que no puede dar la salvación; y su oído no está cerrado para oír:
Behold, the hand of the Lord has not been shortened, so that it cannot save, and his ear has not been blocked, so that it cannot hear.
2 Pero tus pecados se han interpuesto entre ti y tu Dios, y por tus malas acciones su rostro ha sido ocultado, de modo que no te dará respuesta.
But your iniquities have made a division between you and your God, and your sins have concealed his face from you, so that he would not hear.
3 Porque tus manos están inmundas de sangre, y tus dedos de pecado; tus labios han dicho cosas falsas, y tu lengua engaña.
For your hands have been polluted by blood, and your fingers by iniquity. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue utters iniquity.
4 Nadie presenta una causa recta, ni da una decisión verdadera; su esperanza es engañosa y sus palabras son falsas; Están engendrados con el pecado, y dan a luz al mal.
There is no one who calls for justice, and there is no one who judges truly. For they trust in nothing, and they speak emptiness. They have conceived hardship, and they have given birth to iniquity.
5 Dan a luz huevos de serpiente, y hacen hilos de araña; el que toma sus huevos para comer, muere, y el huevo triturado se convierte en una serpiente venenosa.
They have ruptured the eggs of asps, and they have woven the webs of spiders. Whoever will eat of their eggs will die. For what has been incubated will hatch into a king snake.
6 Sus hilos retorcidos no harán ropa, y sus obras no les darán nada para cubrirse a sí mismos; sus obras son obras de pecado, y los actos violentos están en sus manos.
Their weavings will not be for clothing, nor will they cover themselves with their handiwork. Their works are useless things, and the work of iniquity is in their hands.
7 Sus pies van rápidamente al mal, y se deleitan en la muerte de los rectos; sus pensamientos son pensamientos de pecado; El derroche y la destrucción están en sus caminos.
Their feet run to evil, and they rush to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are useless thoughts; devastation and destruction are in their ways.
8 No tienen conocimiento del camino de la paz, y no tienen sentido de lo que es correcto en su comportamiento; se han forjado caminos que no son rectos; el que entra en ellos no tiene conocimiento de la paz.
They have not known the way of peace, and there is no judgment in their steps. Their paths have become crooked for them. Anyone who treads in them knows no peace.
9 Por esta causa nuestro derecho está lejos de nosotros, y la justicia no nos alcanza; estamos buscando la luz, pero solo existe la oscuridad; resplandor, pero andamos en la oscuridad.
Because of this, judgment is far from us, and justice will not take hold of us. We waited for light, and behold, darkness; we waited for brightness, and we walked in darkness.
10 Seguimos nuestro camino, como hombres ciegos que buscan la pared, como aquellos que no tienen ojos; corremos contra las cosas a la luz del día como si fuera de noche; Nuestro lugar está en la oscuridad como hombres muertos.
We groped for the wall, like one who is blind, and we felt our way, like one without eyes. We stumbled at midday, as if in darkness; and in darkness, as if in death.
11 Hacemos ruidos de dolor, como osos, y sonidos tristes como palomas: estamos buscando nuestra justicia, pero no está allí; por la salvación, pero está lejos de nosotros.
We will all roar like bears, and we will sigh like despondent doves. We hoped for judgment, and there is none; for salvation, and it is far from us.
12 Porque nuestras malas acciones aumentan delante de ti, y nuestros pecados dan testimonio contra nosotros; porque nuestras malas acciones están con nosotros, y tenemos conocimiento de nuestros pecados.
For our iniquities have been multiplied in your sight, and our sins have answered us. For our wickedness is with us, and we have acknowledged our iniquities:
13 Hemos ido en contra del Señor y hemos sido falsos con él, apartándonos de nuestro Dios, nuestras palabras han sido descontroladas y en nuestros corazones hay pensamientos de engaño.
sinning and lying against the Lord. And we have turned away, not so as to go after our God, and so that we were speaking calumny and transgression. We have conceived, and spoken from the heart, words of falsehood.
14 Y el derecho se ha vuelto atrás, y la justicia está muy lejos; porque la buena fe no se ve en los lugares públicos, y la verdad tropezó en la plaza. El comportamiento recto no puede entrar.
And judgment has been turned backwards, and justice has stood far away. For truth has fallen down in the street, and fairness was not able to enter.
15 Sí, la fe se ha ido; y aquel cuyo corazón se ha vuelto del mal, llega al poder de los crueles; y el Señor lo vio, y se enojó de que no había nadie para defender su causa.
And the truth has gone into oblivion. And he who withdraws from evil endures plunder. And the Lord saw this, and it seemed evil in his eyes. For there is no judgment.
16 Y vio que no había hombre, y se sorprendió de que no hubiera nadie que les ayudara; así que su brazo dio la salvación, e hizo justicia con su apoyo.
And he saw that there was no good man. And he was astonished that there was no one to meet him. And his own arm brought salvation to him, and his own justice strengthened him.
17 Sí, se puso la justicia como una coraza, y la salvación como un casco; y se puso el castigo como vestimenta, y la ira como un manto.
He clothed himself with justice as with a breastplate, and with a helmet of salvation upon his head. He put on the vestments of vengeance, and he was covered with zeal as with a cloak.
18 Él les dará la recompensa correcta de sus actos, la ira a sus atacantes, el castigo a sus enemigos, e incluso en las islas enviará el castigo.
This was for vindication, as a repayment of indignation to his adversaries, and as a sudden reversal for his enemies. He will repay the islands in their turn.
19 Entonces verán el nombre del Señor desde el oeste, y su gloria desde el este, porque vendrá como una corriente apresurada, forzada por un viento del Señor.
And those from the west will fear the name of the Lord, and those from the rising of the sun will fear his glory, when he arrives like a violent river, which the Spirit of the Lord urges on.
20 Y como salvador vendrá a Sión, y de todos los descendientes de Jacob que se arrepientan de sus culpas, dice el Señor.
And the Redeemer will arrive in Zion, and to those who return from the iniquity within Jacob, says the Lord.
21 Y en cuanto a mí, este es mi acuerdo con ellos, dice el Señor: mi espíritu que está sobre ti, y mis palabras que he puesto en tu boca, no se irán de tu boca ni de tu simiente, o de la boca de tu simiente, dice el Señor, desde ahora y por siempre.
This is my pact with them, says the Lord. My Spirit is within you, and my words, which I have put in your mouth, will not withdraw from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring, says the Lord, from this moment, and even forever.
