Isaías 58

1 Clama a alta voz, no te quedes quieto, alza tu voz que suene como un cuerno, y deja en claro a mi gente sus malas acciones y a la familia de Jacob sus pecados.

“Cry aloud, do not hold back! Raise your voice like a ram’s horn. Declare to My people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Con todo me buscan día tras día, y se complacen en conocer mis caminos; como una nación que ha hecho justicia y no ha renunciado a las reglas de su Dios, me piden leyes justas, es su deleite acercarse a Dios.

For day after day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”

3 Dicen: ¿Para qué ayunar, si tú no lo ves? ¿Por qué nos hemos guardado del placer y no te das cuenta? Si, en los días en que se mantiene alejado de los alimentos, buscan su conveniencia y oprimen a sus obreros;

“Why have we fasted, and You have not seen? Why have we humbled ourselves, and You have not noticed?” “Behold, on the day of your fast, you do as you please, and you oppress all your workers.

4 Ayunan para contiendas y riñas te hace enojar rápidamente, listo para pelear y dar golpes con manos malvadas; no ayunen como hoy, para que tu voz llegue a mis oídos en lo alto.

You fast with contention and strife to strike viciously with your fist. You cannot fast as you do today and have your voice be heard on high.

5 ¿He dado órdenes para un día como este? ¿Un día para guardarse de placer? ¿Es solo agacharse como una caña, para que se acueste en cilicio y ceniza? ¿Es esto lo que te parece un día santo, agradable al Señor?

Is this the fast I have chosen: a day for a man to deny himself, to bow his head like a reed, and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and a day acceptable to the LORD?

6 ¿No es este el día santo por el que he dado órdenes; liberar las ligaduras de impiedad, deshacer las coyundas del yugo, y dejar que el oprimido salga libre, y cada yugo se rompa?

Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to break the chains of wickedness, to untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and tear off every yoke?

7 ¿No es para dar tu pan a los necesitados y dejar que los pobres que no tienen lugar de descanso entren en tu casa? ¿Poner una túnica sobre el que está sin ropa cuando lo ves, y no mantener los ojos cerrados por miedo a ver su carne?

Isn’t it to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your home, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Entonces la luz te iluminará como en la mañana, y tus heridas pronto se curarán, y tu justicia irá delante de ti, y la gloria del Señor vendrá después de ti.

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

9 Entonces, al sonido de tu voz, el Señor dará una respuesta; A tu clamor dirá: Heme aquí. Si quitas de entre ti el yugo, el amenazar con él dedo y hablar vanidad;

Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry out, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and malicious talk,

10 Y si das tu pan a los necesitados, y sacias el deseo del afligido; entonces tendrás luz en la oscuridad, y tu noche será como la plena luz del sol.

and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will go forth in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday.

11 Y el Señor será tu guía en todo momento; en lugares secos te dará agua en toda su extensión y fortalecerá tus huesos; y serás como un jardín regado, y como un manantial que siempre fluye.

The LORD will always guide you; He will satisfy you in a sun-scorched land and strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

12 Y tus hijos volverán a construir los viejos lugares desolados; fortalecerás las bases de las viejas generaciones; y serás nombrado, el reparador de los muros rotos y el que prepara los caminos para el uso.

Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of the Streets of Dwelling.

13 Si guardas el sábado con cuidado, no haces tus asuntos en mi día santo; y si el sábado te parece un deleite; el día santo del Señor, honorable y lo honras; y si lo respetas para no ocuparte de tus asuntos, o perseguir tu placer, o decir palabras profanas;

If you turn your foot from breaking the Sabbath, from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s holy day honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way or seeking your own pleasure or speaking idle words,

14 Entonces el Señor será tu deleite; y te pondré en los lugares altos de la tierra; y te daré la herencia de tu padre Jacob, porque la boca del Señor lo ha dicho.

then you will delight yourself in the LORD, and I will make you ride on the heights of the land and feed you with the heritage of your father Jacob.”
