Isaías 31
1 Ay! de los que bajan a Egipto en busca de ayuda, y que ponen su fe en los caballos; buscando carruajes de guerra para la salvación, debido a su multitud; en sus caballos porque son muy fuertes; pero no están mirando al Santo de Israel, ni están volviendo sus corazones al Señor;
Woe [to] those going down to Egypt for help, And on horses lean, And trust on chariots, because many, And on horsemen, because very strong, And have not looked on the Holy One of Israel, And Jehovah have not sought.
2 Aunque es sabio y capaz de enviar el mal, su propósito no cambiará; pero irá contra la casa de los malhechores, y contra aquellos a quienes están buscando ayuda.
And He also [is] wise, and bringeth in evil, And His words He hath not turned aside, And He hath risen against a house of evil doers, And against the help of workers of iniquity.
3 Porque los egipcios son hombres, y no Dios; y sus caballos son carne, y no espíritu; y cuando se extienda la mano del Señor, el ayudante y el que recibe ayuda descenderán juntos.
And the Egyptians [are men], and not God, And their horses [are] flesh, and not spirit, And Jehovah stretcheth out His hand, And stumbled hath the helper, And fallen hath the helped one, And together all of them are consumed.
4 Porque el Señor me dijo: Como león y su cachorro, hace un ruido de enojo sobre su comida, y si una banda de pastores sale contra él, no temerá a sus voces, o renuncia a su comida por su ruido; así el Señor de los ejércitos bajará para hacer la guerra contra el monte Sión y su colina.
For thus said Jehovah unto me: 'As growl doth the lion and the young lion over his prey, Called against whom is a multitude of shepherds, From their voice he is not affrighted, And from their noise he is not humbled; So come down doth Jehovah of Hosts To war on mount Zion, and on her height.
5 Como los pájaros con las alas extendidas, así el Señor de los ejércitos será una cubierta para Jerusalén; Él será un amparo y salvación para ellos, pasando la guardará del peligro.
As birds flying, so doth Jehovah of Hosts Cover over Jerusalem, covering and delivering, Passing over, and causing to escape.'
6 Regresa con él con quien los hijos de Israel profundamente se rebelaron.
Turn back to Him from whom sons of Israel Have deepened apostasy.
7 Porque en ese día todos entregarán sus imágenes de plata y oro, que sus propias manos pecadoras fabricaron.
For in that day despise doth each His idols of silver, and his idols of gold, That your hands made to you — a sin.
8 Entonces los asirios bajarán por la espada, pero no del hombre; La espada, y no la de los hombres, será la causa de su destrucción: él huirá de la espada y sus jóvenes serán sometidos a trabajos forzados.
And fallen hath Asshur by sword, not of the high, Yea, a sword — not of the low, doth consume him, And he hath fled for himself from the face of a sword, And his young men become tributary.
9 Y por causa de su temor su fortaleza pasará, y sus jefes se espantarán ante su bandera, dice el Señor, cuyo fuego está en Sión, y su horno en Jerusalén.
And [to] his rock from fear he passeth on, And affrighted by the ensign have been his princes — an affirmation of Jehovah, Who hath a light in Zion, And who hath a furnace in Jerusalem!
