Isaías 16

1 Y enviarán él cordero del tributo desde Sela en el desierto hasta el monte de la hija de Sión.

Send ye the lamb due to the ruler of the land, From Sela towards the desert, —Unto the mount of the daughter of Zion;

2 Porque las hijas de Moab serán como pájaros espantados, que huyen de su nido, en los caminos a través del Arnón.

Yet shall it be that—Like wandering birds from a nest cast forth, Shall be the daughters of Moab, at the fords of Arnon.

3 Da instrucciones sabias, toma una decisión; que tu sombra sea como la noche en él mediodía; mantén a salvo a los que están en vuelo; No renuncies a los errantes.

Bring thou, in counsel, Execute thou judgment, Make as the night, thy shadow in the midst of high noon, —Hide thou the outcasts, The wanderer, do not thou reveal.

4 Deja que los que han sido expulsados de Moab tengan un lugar de descanso contigo; sé una cobertura para quien está siendo desterrado; hasta que los crueles sean eliminados, y el desperdicio haya llegado a su fin, y aquellos que se complacen en aplastar a los pobres se han ido de la tierra.

Let mine own outcasts, sojourn with thee, O Moab, become thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler, —For vanished is the oppressor, At an end is extortion, They who tread down have ceased out of the land.

5 Entonces el trono de un rey se basará en la misericordia, y uno se sentará en él en tabernáculo de David para siempre; juzgando rectamente, y rápido para hacer justicia.

So shall be established, in lovingkindness, a throne, And one shall sit thereon, in truth, in the home of David, —Judging—and seeking justice and speeding righteousness.

6 Hemos tenido noticia del orgullo de Moab, cuán grande es; cómo se alza con orgullo y pasión: sus palabras elevadas sobre sí mismo son falsas.

We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Proud exceedingly! His haughtiness and his arrogance and his passion, Not true, are his boastings.

7 Por esta causa, todos en Moab darán gritos de dolor por Moab: por los fundamentos, llorarán por los hombres de Kir-hareset.

Therefore shall, Moab, howl for, Moab, All that belong to her, shall wail, —For the ruins of Kir-hareseth, shall they moan out Utterly stricken!

8 Porque los campos de Hesbón son desechos, la vid de Sibma está muerta; los señores de las naciones fueron vencidos por el producto de sus vides; sus plantas de vid llegaron hasta Jazer y llegaron hasta él desierto; sus ramas se extendían hasta el mar.

For, the fields of Heshbon are withered—The vine of Sibmah, the owners of nations, have broken off ruddy branches, Unto Jazer, had they reached, They had spread abroad to the desert, —Her boughs, had stretched forth, had gone over to the sea.

9 Por esta causa, mi dolor por la viña de Sibma será como el llanto por Jazer: ¡derramó lágrimas sobre ti, oh Hesbón y Eleale! Porque están haciendo sonar el grito de guerra sobre tus frutos de verano y la entrada de tu grano;

For this cause, will I bewail, in the wailing of Jazer, The vine of Sibmah, I will drench thee with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh, —For, upon thy fruit-harvest, and upon thy grain-harvest, the battle-shout, hath fallen.

10 Y todo el gozo se ha ido; ya no se alegran por el campo fértil; y en los viñedos no hay canciones ni sonidos de alegría. Él aplastamiento de las uvas ha llegado a su fin, y su grito de alegría se ha detenido.

Now shall be withdrawn rejoicing and exultation out of the garden-land, And, in the vineyards, shall be neither singing nor shouting, —Wine in the winepress, the treader, shall not tread, The vintage-shout, have I made to cease.

11 Por esta causa, las cuerdas de mi corazón están sonando para Moab, y estoy lleno de pena por los Kir-hareset.

For this cause, mine inward parts—for Moab, like a lyre, shall make a plaintive sound, —Yea what is within me, for Kir-heres.

12 Y cuando Moab suba al lugar alto y haga oración en la casa de su dios, no tendrá efecto.

And it shall be—When it is seen that Moab hath laboured in vain on the high place, He shall enter into his holy place to pray, and shall not prevail,

13 Esta es la palabra que el Señor dijo acerca de Moab en el pasado.

This, is the word which Yahweh spake concerning Moab in, time past;

14 Pero ahora el Señor ha dicho: En tres años, los años de un siervo que trabaja para el pago, la gloria de Moab, toda esa gran gente, se convertirá en vergüenza, y el resto de Moab será muy pequeño y sin honor.

But now, hath Yahweh spoken saying, In three years, —as the years of a hireling, shall the glory of Moab be diminished, with all the great multitude, —even a very small remnant, of no account.
