Isaías 10

1 Ay! de aquellos que decretan leyes injustas, y los escritores que hacen los registros de sus tiranías,

Woe vnto them that decree wicked decrees, and write grieuous things,

2 Que hacen mal a los pobres en su causa, y quitan el derecho de los oprimidos entre mi pueblo, para que puedan tener la propiedad de las viudas, y roban a los huérfanos.

To keepe backe ye poore from iudgement, and to take away the iudgement of the poore of my people, that widowes may be their pray, and that they may spoyle the fatherlesse.

3 ¿Y qué harás en el día del castigo y en la destrucción que viene de lejos? ¿A quién acudirás por ayuda y qué será de tu gloria?

What will ye doe nowe in the day of visitation, and of destruction, which shall come from farre? to whom will ye flee for helpe? and where will ye leaue your glorie?

4 Sin mí serán humillados y llevados presos, caerán con los que mueran asesinados. Por todo esto, su ira no se ha calmado, sino que su mano todavía está extendida.

Without me euery one shall fall among them that are bound, and they shall fall downe among the slayne: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

5 ¡Ay! Asiria, es la vara con que yo en mi ira castigo, en cuyas manos he puesto mi castigo.

O Asshur, the rodde of my wrath: and the staffe in their hands is mine indignation.

6 Lo enviaré contra una nación de malhechores, y contra la gente causa de mi ira. Le daré órdenes de tomar sus riquezas en la guerra, pisoteando como el barro en las calles.

I will sende him to a dissembling nation, and I will giue him a charge against the people of my wrath to take the spoyle and to take the pray, and to treade them vnder feete like the mire in the streete.

7 Pero esto no es lo que está en su mente, y este no es su diseño; pero su propósito es la destrucción, y el corte de más y más naciones.

But he thinketh not so, neither doeth his heart esteeme it so: but he imagineth to destroy and to cut off not a fewe nations.

8 Porque él dice: ¿No son reyes todos mis capitanes?

For he sayeth, Are not my princes altogether Kings?

9 ¿No será el destino de Calno como el de Carquemis? ¿No es Hamat como Arfad? ¿No es Samaria como Damasco?

Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus?

10 Como mi mano ha encontrado reinos con muchas imágenes, cuyas imágenes representadas eran más numerosas que las de Jerusalén y Samaria;

Like as mine hand hath founde the kingdomes of the idoles, seeing their idoles were aboue Ierusalem, and aboue Samaria:

11 Entonces, como hice con Samaria y sus imágenes, haré con Jerusalén y sus imágenes.

Shall not I, as I haue done to Samaria, and to the idoles thereof, so doe to Ierusalem and to the idoles thereof?

12 Por esta causa será que, cuando el propósito del Señor contra el monte Sión y Jerusalén sea completo, enviaré un castigo sobre el orgullo del corazón del rey de Asiria y sobre la gloria de sus ojos altivos.

But when the Lord hath accomplished all his worke vpon mount Zion and Ierusalem, I will visite the fruite of the proude heart of the King of Asshur, and his glorious and proud lookes,

13 Porque él ha dicho: Por la fuerza de mi mano lo he hecho, y por lo que sé, porque soy sabio, y he quitado los límites de las tierras de los pueblos, y las reservas de su riqueza han vuelto a mi; y he hecho polvo sus pueblos, enviando destrucción a los que viven en ellos;

Because he said, By ye power of mine owne hand haue I done it, and by my wisdome, because I am wise: therefore I haue remooued the borders of the people, and haue spoyled their treasures, and haue pulled downe the inhabitants like a valiant man.

14 Y he puesto mis manos sobre la riqueza de los pueblos, como en el lugar donde un pájaro ha puesto sus huevos; y como un hombre puede tomar los huevos abandonados, así he tomado toda la tierra para mí: ni un ala se movió, ni un pico emitió un sonido.

And mine hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people, and as one gathereth egges that are left, so haue I gathered all the earth: and there was none to mooue the wing or to open the mouth, or to whisper.

15 ¿El hacha se jactara contra el que la usa, o la sierra estará llena de orgullo contra el que corta con eso? Como si una vara tuviera el poder de sacudir al que la estaba usando, o como si una vara levantara al que no es de madera.

Shall the axe boast it selfe against him that heweth therewith? or shall the sawe exalt it selfe against him that moueth it? as if the rod shoulde lift vp it selfe against him that taketh it vp, or the staffe should exalt it selfe, as it were no wood.

16 Por esta causa, el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos, hará que sus hombres robustos; pierdan la fuerza y en sus partes internas se encenderá un fuego como una llama ardiente.

Therefore shall the Lord God of hostes send amog his fat men, leannes, and vnder his glorie he shall kindle a burning, like the burning of fire.

17 Y la luz de Israel será fuego, y su Santo en llama: desperdiciando y quemando sus espinas y matorrales en un día.

And the light of Israel shalbe as a fire, and the Holy one thereof as a flame, and it shall burne, and deuoure his thornes and his briers in one day:

18 Y pondrá fin a la gloria de sus bosques y de sus campos plantados, alma y cuerpo juntos; y será como cuando un hombre abanderado en derrota.

And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitfull fieldes both soule and flesh: and he shalbe as ye fainting of a standard bearer.

19 Y el resto de los árboles de su madera serán pequeños en número, de modo que un niño los pueda poner por escrito.

And the rest of the trees of his forest shalbe fewe, that a childe may tell them.

20 Y será en ese día que el resto de Israel, y los de Jacob que han superado estas dificultades, ya no buscarán ayuda para él cuya vara estaba sobre su espalda, sino que su fe estará en El Señor, el Santo de Israel.

And at that day shall the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Iaakob, stay no more vpon him that smote them, but shall stay vpon ye Lord, ye Holy one of Israel in trueth.

21 El resto, incluso el resto de Jacob, regresará al Dios Fuerte.

The remnant shall returne, euen the remnant of Iaakob vnto the mightie God.

22 Porque aunque tu pueblo, oh Israel, es como la arena del mar, solo unos pocos volverán; porque la destrucción es fija, desbordante de justicia.

For though thy people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, yet shall the remnant of them returne. The consumption decreed shall ouerflow with righteousnesse.

23 Porque el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos, está a punto de completar la destrucción en toda la tierra.

For the Lord God of hostes shall make the consumption, euen determined, in the middes of all the land.

24 Por esta causa, el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos, dice: Oh pueblo mío que vive en Sión, no tengas miedo del asirio, aunque su vara venga sobre tu espalda y su vara se levante como en Egipto.

Therefore thus saith ye Lord God of hostes, O my people, that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of Asshur: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift vp his staffe against thee after the maner of Egypt:

25 Porque en muy poco tiempo terminará mi pasión, y mi ira se convertirá en su destrucción.

But yet a very litle time, and the wrath shall be consumed, and mine anger in their destruction.

26 Y el Señor de los ejércitos sacudirá un látigo contra él, como cuando venció a Madián en la roca de Oreb, y su vara será levantada contra ellos como lo fue contra los egipcios.

And ye Lord of hostes shall raise vp a scourge for him, according to the plague of Midian in the rocke Oreb: and as his staffe was vpon the Sea, so he will lift it vp after the maner of Egypt.

27 Y en ese día se quitará el peso que él puso en tu espalda, y su yugo se romperá de tu cuello.

And at that day shall his burden be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy necke: and the yoke shalbe destroied because of the anoynting.

28 Ha subido de Pene-Rimon, ha venido a Ajat; ha pasado por Migrón, en Micmas pone su ejército en orden.

He is come to Aiath: he is passed into Migron: at Michmash shall he lay vp his armour.

29 Han cruzado el monte; Geba será nuestro lugar de descanso esta noche, dicen. Rama está temblando de miedo; Guibea de Saúl se ha ido huyendo.

They haue gone ouer the foorde: they lodged in the lodging at Geba: Ramah is afraide: Gibeah of Saul is fled away.

30 Da un grito, hija de Galim; deja que Laisa oiga; Deja que Anatot le responda.

Lift vp thy voyce, O daughter Gallim, cause Laish to heare, O poore Anathoth.

31 Madmena se ha ido; Los hombres de Gebim están poniendo sus bienes en un lugar seguro.

Madmenah is remoued: the inhabitants of Gebim haue gathered themselues together.

32 Este mismo día se detiene en Nob; él está estrechando su mano contra la montaña de la hija de Sión, la colina de Jerusalén.

Yet there is a time that he will stay at Nob: he shall lift vp his hand towarde the mount of the daughter Zion, the hill of Ierusalem.

33 Mira, el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos, está cortando sus ramas con un gran ruido, y sus fuertes caen y sus altos caen.

Beholde, the Lord God of hostes shall cut off the bough with feare, and they of high stature shalbe cut off, and the hie shalbe humbled.

34 Y él está cortando los lugares espesos de del bosque con un hacha, y el Líbano con sus árboles altos está descendiendo ante él poderoso.

And he shall cut away the thicke places of the forest with yron, and Lebanon shall haue a mightie fall.
