Oseas 9
1 No tengas gozo, oh Israel, y no te alegres como las naciones; porque no has sido fiel a tu Dios; te has prostituido, has amado la recompensa de ramera en cada piso de grano.
Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation, like the peoples, for thou hast gone away unchastely from beside thy God, —thou hast loved a present, upon all the threshing-floors of corn!
2 El piso de grano y el lugar donde se trituran las uvas no les dará comida; no habrá vino nuevo para ellos.
Threshing-floor and wine-vat, will not feed them, and, new wine, will deny them.
3 No tendrán lugar de descanso en la tierra del Señor, pero Efraín volverá a Egipto y tomarán comida inmunda en Asiria.
They shall not dwell in the land of Yahweh, but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and, in Assyria—that which is unclean, shall they eat.
4 No harán ofrendas de vino al Señor; ni le serán gratos sus sacrificios; su pan será como el pan de los afligidos; todos los que lo tomen serán inmundos, porque su pan será sólo para sí mismos, no entrará en la casa del Señor.
They shall not pour out to Yahweh—wine, neither shall they be pleasing to him, their sacrifices, are as the food of mourning to them, all that eat thereof, shall defile themselves, because, their food for their appetite, entereth not into the house of Yahweh.
5 ¿Qué harán en el día de la adoración y el día de la fiesta del Señor?
What will ye do, for the day of appointed meeting? and in the day of the festival of Yahweh?
6 Porque he aquí se van a causa de la destrucción, se van a Asiria; Egipto los reunirá, Menfis será su último lugar de descanso; sus bonitas vasijas de plata estarán cubiertas con plantas de campo, y espinas subirán en sus tiendas.
For, though they have gone from destruction, yet, Egypt, shall gather them, Memphis, shall bury them, —as for their silver favorites! thistles, shall possess them, thorns in their tents.
7 Los días de castigo, los días de recompensa han llegado; Israel será avergonzado; el profeta es tonto, el hombre que tiene el espíritu está fuera de sí por tu gran iniquidad y odio.
Come are the days of visitation, come are the days of recompense, Let Israel know! The prophet is foolish, the man of the spirit doth rave, because of the greatness of thine iniquity, therefore great is the prosecution.
8 Hay gran odio contra el vigilante de Efraín, el pueblo de mi Dios; En cuanto al profeta, hay una emboscada en todos sus caminos, y odio en la casa de su Dios.
The watchman of Ephraim, [should have been] with my God: As for the prophet, the snare of the fowler, is on all his ways, a prosecution [awaiteth him], in the house of his God.
9 Se han corrompido en el mal profundamente como en los días de Guibeá; Él tendrá en cuenta su mala conducta, les dará castigo por sus pecados.
They have deeply corrupted themselves, like the days of Gibeah: he will call to mind their iniquity, he will punish their sins.
10 Encontré a Israel como a las uvas en la tierra baldía; Vi a tus padres como las primicias de la higuera en su primera época de frutos; pero vinieron a Baal-peor, se consagraron a la vergüenza y se volvieron asquerosos como aquello a lo que dieron su amor.
Like grapes in the desert, found I Israel, like the first-ripe in the fig-tree when it is young, saw I your fathers, —they, entered Baal-peor, and devoted themselves to the Shameful Thing, Then became their abominations like their lusts.
11 En cuanto a Efraín, su gloria se irá volando como un pájaro; no habrá nacimiento, desde el embarazo, desde la concepción.
As for Ephraim! like a bird, did their glory, fly away, —no birth, and none with child, no conception.
12 Aunque sus hijos hayan crecido, los quitaré, para que no haya nadie allí; Ay! de ellos cuando de ellos me aparte.
Yea, though they rear their children, yet will I make them childless, till there be no human being, —for it is, nothing less than woe, to them when I depart from them!
13 Efraín, como he visto a Tiro, está plantado en pradera hermosa, Efraín dará a luz a niños solo para que sean ejecutados.
Ephraim! just as I provided for Tyre, was planted in a meadow, —yet, Ephraim, must needs bring forth for a murderer his children.
14 Señor, ¿qué les darás? Dales cuerpos que no puedan dar a luz y senos sin leche.
Give them, O Yahweh—what wilt thou give? Give them, a miscarrying womb, and breasts dried up.
15 Toda su maldad está en Gilgal; allí los odiaba; por su maldad los enviaré fuera de mi casa; ya no me serán queridos; todos sus gobernantes son rebeldes.
All their wickedness, is in Gilgal, yea, there, have I come to hate them, For the wickedness of their doings—out of my house, will I drive them forth, —no more will I love them, all their rulers, are unruly.
16 Efraín está herido, su raíz está seca, que no tengan fruto; aunque den a luz, haré morir el fruto más querido de sus cuerpos.
Smitten is Ephraim, their root, hath dried up, fruit, shall they not bear, —yea, though they do bring forth, yet will I slay the darlings of their womb.
17 Mi Dios los abandonará porque no le hicieron caso; estarán vagando entre las naciones.
My God will reject them, because they hearkened not unto him, —that they may become wanderers throughout the nations.
