Oseas 8

1 Pon la trompeta en tu boca. Él viene como un águila contra la casa del Señor; porque han ido en contra de mi pacto, no han guardado mi ley.

To thy mouth, with a horn! Like an eagle, on the house of Yahweh, —because they have violated my covenant, and, against my law, have they transgressed.

2 Clamarán a mi: Nosotros, Israel, te conocemos, oh Dios de Israel.

Unto me, shall they make outcry, My God! we acknowledge thee—[we], Israel!

3 Israel ha renunciado a lo que es bueno; Sus enemigos irán tras él.

Israel hath cast away what is good, —an enemy, shall pursue him.

4 Han puesto reyes, pero no por mí; han nombrado príncipes, pero yo no lo sabía; han hecho imágenes de plata y oro, para su propia destrucción.

They, have appointed kings, but not from me, have made rulers, but I have not acknowledged them: of their silver and their gold, they made themselves idols, to the end they might be cut off.

5 No tendré nada que ver con tu becerro, oh Samaria; mi ira arde contra ellos; ¿Cuánto tiempo pasará antes de que los hijos de Israel se purifiquen?

He hath cast away thy calf, O Samaria, kindled is mine anger upon them, —How long shall they not endure to be innocent?

6 El artesano lo hizo, no es dios; El buey de Samaria se partirá en pedazos.

For, of Israel, is even that thing! A craftsman, made it, and, a No-god, it is! For, into fragments, shall the Calf of Samaria be broken.

7 Porque han sembrado el viento, y su fruto será la tormenta; su grano no tiene tallo, no dará comida, y si lo tiene, una nación extranjera lo tomará.

For, to the wind, they sow, and, to the whirlwind, they reap: stalk, hath it none, That which shooteth forth, shall yield no meal, If so be it yield, foreigners, swallow it lip,

8 Israel ha venido a la destrucción; ahora están entre las naciones como una copa en la que no hay placer.

Swallowed up, is Israel; Now, have they gone among the nations, like a vessel in which no man taketh, delight.

9 Porque subieron a Asiria como un asno salvaje; Efraín ha comprado amantes.

For, they, have gone up to Assyria, A wild ass going alone for himself, is Ephraim! They have hired lovers!

10 Pero aunque dan dinero a las naciones para que lo ayuden, los juntaré y los afligiré un poco por la carga del rey y gobernantes.

Even though they hire them among the nations, at once, will I gather them, when they have begun to be diminished by reason of the burden of the king of rulers.

11 Debido a que Efraín ha aumentado los altares por el pecado, los altares se han convertido en una causa de pecado para él.

Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars sinfully, they have become to him the altars of sin.

12 Aunque pongo mi ley por escrito para él en diez mil reglas, son consideradas como algo extraño.

I have been wont to write for him the myriad things of my law, —Like something alien, have they been accounted.

13 Él da las ofrendas de sus amantes, y toma la carne como alimento; pero el Señor no tiene placer en ellos; ahora tendrá en cuenta su maldad y les dará el castigo de sus pecados; Regresarán a Egipto.

My sacrificial gifts, have they been sacrificing as [common] flesh, and have eaten, Yahweh, hath not accepted them, —Now, will he call to mind their iniquity, that he may punish their sin, they, to Egypt, will return.

14 Porque Israel no tiene memoria de su Hacedor, y ha levantado los palacios de los reyes; y Judá ha hecho grande el número de sus ciudades amuralladas. Pero enviaré un incendio a sus pueblos y pondré fin a sus palacios.

And so Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and hath built temples, and, Judah, hath multiplied fortified cities, —Therefore will I send a fire upon his cities, and it shall consume the palaces thereof.
