Hebreos 6
1 Por esta razón, avancemos desde las primeras cosas acerca de Cristo hasta el crecimiento completo; no edificando nuevamente aquello en lo que se basa, es decir, arrepentimiento de las obras muertas, y la fe en Dios,
Wherefore omitting the discourse about the first principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us proceed to perfection: not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works,
2 La enseñanza de los bautismos, y de la imposición de manos, y de la resurrección de los muertos, y del juicio en el último día. (aiōnios g166)
and of faith in God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and laying on of hands, and of the resurrection from the dead, and of eternal judgement: (tho' we will do this also, if God permit: ) (aiōnios g166)
3 Ahora haremos esto, si Dios nos deja.
for it is impossible that those,
4 En cuanto a aquellos que en algún momento vieron la luz, saboreando las cosas buenas del cielo y teniendo su parte en el Espíritu Santo,
who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the holy Spirit,
and of the good word of God, (aiōn g165)
6 Y recayeron, no es posible que sus corazones se hagan nuevos por segunda vez; porque ellos mismos pusieron al Hijo de Dios en la cruz de nuevo, avergonzándolo abiertamente.
and the powers of the gospel-age, and yet fall away, should be renewed again to repentance: since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and make an open example of Him.
7 Porque una tierra, bebiendo bajo la lluvia frecuente y produciendo buenas plantas para aquellos para quienes es trabajada, tiene una bendición de Dios:
For as the earth, which imbibeth the rain that is frequently coming upon it, and produceth herbs fit for those by whom it is cultivated, receiveth a blessing from God:
8 Pero si arroja espinas y malas plantas, no sirve de nada y está listo para ser maldecido; su único fin es quemarse.
but that which bringeth forth thorns and briars, is rejected and near to a curse, (whose end is burning) so are they.
9 Pero, amados míos, aunque digamos esto, estamos seguros de que tienes mejores cosas en ti, cosas que van con la salvación;
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak for your caution.
10 Porque Dios es Justo, y no olvidará lo que ustedes han hecho y el trabajo de amor que han mostrado por su nombre, en la ayuda que diste y aún das a los santos.
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewn to his name, by having ministred to the saints, and yet ministring.
11 Y es nuestro deseo que todos puedan mantener la misma diligencia y certeza de esperanza hasta el final:
And we desire that every one of you would shew the same diligence to acquire the full assurance of hope even unto the end:
12 Para que no sean lentos en su corazón, sino que tomen como ejemplo a aquellos a quienes Dios les ha dado su herencia, debido a su fe y su paciencia.
that ye would not be sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience are inheriting the promises.
13 Porque cuando Dios hizo su juramento a Abraham, porque no había juramento mayor, lo hizo por sí mismo,
For when God made the promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself, saying,
14 Diciendo: Ciertamente te bendeciré con abundancia, y tu descendencia será numerosa.
"Verily blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee."
15 Y así, cuando había estado esperando con calma durante mucho tiempo, la palabra de Dios para él se llevó a efecto.
And thus waiting patiently he obtained the promise.
16 Porque los hombres en todo tiempo hacen sus juramentos por lo que es mayor; y cualquier argumento se termina por la decisión del juramento.
For men swear by a greater Being, and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all controversy.
17 De modo que cuando fue el deseo de Dios dejarlo especialmente claro para aquellos que por su promesa debían tener la herencia, que su propósito estaba arreglado, lo hizo más seguro con un juramento;
Wherefore God being willing more abundantly to manifest unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it with an oath:
18 Para que por dos cosas que no pueden cambiarse; tengamos un gran consuelo en dos cosas, en las que no es posible que Dios mienta; los que hemos buscado la protección de Dios y hemos confiado en la esperanza que él nos ha dado.
that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to fail, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us;
19 Y esta esperanza es como una ancla fuerte para nuestras almas, fija y segura, y que entra en lo que está dentro del velo;
which we have as an anchor of the soul safe and stedfast, and which entereth within the veil.
