Hageo 2
1 En el séptimo mes, en el vigésimo primer día del mes, la palabra del Señor vino por medio del profeta Hageo, diciendo:
In the seventh month on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of Yahweh came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
2 Di ahora a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernante de Judá, y a Josué, hijo de Josadac, el sumo sacerdote, y a el resto del pueblo,
“Speak to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and to the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, and to the remnant of the people. Say,
3 ¿Quién está todavía entre ustedes que vio esta casa en su primera gloria? y cómo la ves ahora ¿No está ante tus ojos como nada?
'Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Is it not like nothing in your eyes?
4 Pero ahora sé fuerte, Zorobabel, dice el Señor; y sé fuerte, oh Josué, hijo de Josadac, el sumo sacerdote; y sean fuertes, todos ustedes, gente de la tierra, dice el Señor, y trabajen, porque yo estoy con ustedes, dice el Señor de los ejércitos:
Now, be strong, Zerubbabel!—this is Yahweh's declaration— and be strong, high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak; and be strong, all you people in the land!—this is Yahweh's declaration— and work, for I am with you!—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts.
5 El acuerdo que hice con ustedes cuando saliste de Egipto, y mi espíritu, todavía está con ustedes; no tengan miedo.
This is the covenant that I established with you when you came out of Egypt, and my Spirit remains with you. Do not fear!
6 Porque esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: En poco tiempo haré temblar los cielos, la tierra, el mar y la tierra seca;
For Yahweh of hosts says this: In a little while I will once again shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land!
7 Y haré temblar a todas las naciones, y vendrá lo deseado de todas las naciones; y llenaré de mi gloria esta casa, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
I will shake every nation, and every nation will bring their precious things to me, and I will fill this house with glory, says Yahweh of hosts.
8 La plata es mía y el oro es mío, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
The silver and gold are mine!—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts.
9 La segunda gloria de esta casa será mayor que la primera, dice el Señor de los ejércitos; y en este lugar daré paz, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
The glory of this house will be greater in the future than at the beginning, says Yahweh of hosts, and I will give peace in this place!—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts.”
10 En el vigésimo cuarto día del noveno mes, en el segundo año de Darío, la palabra del Señor vino por medio del profeta Hageo, diciendo:
On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came by Haggai the prophet, saying,
11 Estas son las palabras del Señor de los ejércitos: Poner ahora una cuestión acerca de la ley a los sacerdotes, diciendo:
“Yahweh of hosts says this: Ask the priests concerning the law, and say,
12 Si alguien tiene carne sagrada doblada en la falda de su túnica, y el borde de su capa toca el pan ¿se hará santo el pan, la sopa, el vino, el aceite o cualquier otro alimento si lo toca? Y los sacerdotes respondiendo respondieron: No.
'If a man carries meat that is set apart to Yahweh in the fold of his garment, and the fold touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any kind of food, does it become holy?'” The priests answered and said, “No.”
13 Entonces Hageo dijo: ¿Alguno de estos se volverá inmundo por el toque de alguien que está inmundo al tocar un cadáver? Y respondiendo los sacerdotes, dijeron: Será inmundo.
Then Haggai said, “If someone who is unclean because of death touches any of these things, do they become unclean?” The priests answered and said, “Yes, they become unclean.”
14 Entonces Hageo dijo: Así es este pueblo y también esta nación delante de mí, dice el Señor; y así es cada obra de sus manos; y la ofrenda que dan allí es inmunda.
So Haggai answered and said, “So it is with this people and this nation before me!—this is Yahweh's declaration—and so it is with everything done by their hands. What they offer to me is unclean!
15 Y ahora, piensa, mirando hacia atrás desde este día hasta el tiempo antes de que una piedra fuera puesta sobre otra en el Templo del Señor:
So now, think in your minds about the past leading up to this very day. Before stone was placed upon stone in the temple of Yahweh,
16 Cómo, cuando alguien llegó a una tienda de veinte medidas, solo había diez: cuando alguien fue a la bodega de vino a llenar cincuenta vasos, sólo había veinte.
how was it then? When you came to a heap of twenty measures of grain, there were only ten; and when you came to the wine vat to draw out fifty measures, there were only twenty.
17 Y envié viento ardiente, granizo y plaga sobre todas las obras de tus manos; pero aun así no se volvieron hacia mí, dice el Señor.
I afflicted you and all the work of your hands with blight and mildew, but you still did not turn to me—this is Yahweh's declaration.
18 Y ahora, piensa; mirando desde este día, desde el vigésimo cuarto día del noveno mes, desde el momento en que se puso la base de la casa del Señor en su lugar, piensa en ello.
Consider from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of Yahweh's temple was laid. Consider it!
19 ¿Todavía está la semilla en el almacén? ¿La vid y la higuera, la granada y el olivo todavía no han dado sus frutos? a partir de hoy te enviaré mi bendición.
Is there still seed in the storehouse? The vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not produced! But from this day will I bless you!”
20 Y la palabra del Señor vino por segunda vez a Hageo, en el vigésimo cuarto día del mes, diciendo:
Then the word of Yahweh came a second time to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month and said,
21 Di a Zorobabel, gobernante de Judá, que haré temblar los cielos y la tierra.
“Speak to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel, and say, 'I will shake the heavens and the earth.
22 Derrocando el poder de los reinos; y enviaré destrucción sobre la fuerza de los reinos de las naciones; por mí, los carruajes de guerra serán volcados con los que están en ellos; y los caballos y los jinetes bajarán, todos por la espada de su hermano.
For I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms and destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations! I will overthrow the chariots and their riders; the horses and their riders will fall down, each one because of his brother's sword.
23 En ese día, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, te llevaré, oh Zorobabel, mi siervo, el hijo de Salatiel, dice el Señor, y te haré como un anillo de sellos; porque te he escogido para que seas mío, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
On that day—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts—I will take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, as my servant—this is Yahweh's declaration. I will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you! —this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts!'”
