Génesis 29
1 Entonces Jacob continuó su viaje hasta que llegó a la tierra de los hijos del oriente.
Therfor Jacob passide forth, and cam in to the eest lond;
2 Y vio allí un pozo de agua en un campo, y al lado de ella tres ovejas, porque allí tomaron agua para las ovejas; y en la boca del pozo de agua había una gran piedra.
and seiy a pit in the feeld, and thre flockis of scheep restynge bisidis it, for whi scheep weren watrid therof, and the mouth therof was closid with a greet stoon.
3 Y todos los rebaños se juntaban allí, y cuando la piedra había sido removida, daban agua a las ovejas, y volvían a poner la piedra en su lugar sobre la boca del pozo de agua.
And the custom was that whanne alle scheep weren gaderid togidere, thei schulden turne awei the stoon, and whanne the flockis weren fillid thei schulden put it eft on the mouth of the pit.
4 Entonces Jacob dijo a los pastores: Mis hermanos, ¿de dónde vienes? Y ellos dijeron: De Harán.
And Jacob seide to the scheepherdis, Brithren, of whennus ben ye? Whiche answeriden, Of Aran.
5 Y él les dijo: ¿Conocen a Labán, el hijo de Nacor? Y ellos dijeron: sí, lo conocemos.
And he axide hem and seide, Wher ye knowen Laban, the sone of Nachor? Thei seiden, We knowen.
6 Y él les dijo: ¿Está bien? Y ellos dijeron: Está bien, y aquí está Raquel, su hija, que viene con las ovejas.
Jacob seide, Is he hool? Thei seiden, He is in good staat; and lo! Rachel, his douytir, cometh with his flok.
7 Entonces Jacob dijo: El sol todavía está alto y no es tiempo de juntar el ganado; trae agua para las ovejas y vete a darles su alimento.
And Jacob seide, Yit myche of the dai is to come, and it is not tyme that the flockis be led ayen to the fooldis; sotheli yyue ye drynk to the scheep, and so lede ye hem ayen to mete.
8 Y ellos dijeron: No podemos hacer eso, hasta que se junten todos los ganados, y la piedra se haya removido de la boca del pozo; entonces obtendremos agua para las ovejas.
Whiche answeriden, We moun not til alle scheep be gederid to gidere, and til we remouen the stoon fro the mouth of the pit to watir the flockis.
9 Mientras aún hablaba con ellos, Raquel vino con las ovejas de su padre, porque ella las cuidaba.
Yit thei spaken, and lo! Rachel cam with the scheep of hir fadir.
10 Y cuando Jacob vio a Raquel, la hija de Labán, el hermano de su madre, que venía con las ovejas de Labán, se acercó y, sacando la piedra de la boca del pozo, sacó agua del rebaño de Labán.
And whanne Jacob seiy hir, and knewe the douytir of his modris brothir, and the scheep of Laban his vncle, he remeuyde the stoon with which the pit was closid;
11 Y llorando de alegría, Jacob besó a Raquel.
and whanne the flok was watrid, he kisside hir, and he wepte with `vois reisid.
12 Y Raquel, oyendo de Jacob que él era pariente de su padre y que era hijo de Rebeca, salió corriendo a avisarle a su padre.
And he schewide to hir that he was the brothir of hir fadir, and the sone of Rebecca; and sche hastide, and telde to hir fadir.
13 Y Labán, oyendo noticias de Jacob, el hijo de su hermana, vino corriendo, y tomando a Jacob en sus brazos, y besándolo, lo hizo entrar en su casa. Y Jacob le dio noticias de todo.
And whanne he hadde herd, that Jacob, the sone of his sistir, cam, he ran ayens hym, and he biclippide Jacob and kisside hym, and ledde in to his hows. Forsothe whanne the causis of the iurney weren herd,
14 Y Labán le dijo: De cierto, tú eres mi hueso y mi carne. Y mantuvo a Jacob con él por espacio de un mes.
Laban answeride, Thou art my boon and my fleisch. And aftir that the daies of o moneth weren fillid, Laban seide to him,
15 Entonces Labán dijo a Jacob: Porque tú eres mi hermano, ¿me has de servir en balde? dime ahora, ¿cuál será tu pago?
`Whethir for thou art my brothir, thou schalt serue me frely? seie thou what mede thou schalt take.
16 Y Labán tuvo dos hijas: la mayor se llamaba Lea, y la menor se llamaba Raquel.
Forsothe Laban hadde twei douytris, the name of the more was Lya, sotheli the lesse was clepid Rachel;
17 Y los ojos de Lea se nublaron, pero Raquel era hermosa en rostro y forma.
but Lya was blere iyed, Rachel was of fair face, and semeli in siyt.
18 Y Jacob se enamoró de Raquel; y él dijo: Seré tu siervo siete años por Raquel, tu hija menor.
And Jacob louede Rachel, and seide, Y schal serue thee seuene yeer for Rachel thi lesse douytir.
19 Y dijo Labán: Mejor te es tenerla que otro hombre; sigue viviendo aquí conmigo.
Laban answeride, It is betere that Y yyue hir to thee than to anothir man; dwelle thou at me.
20 Y Jacob hizo siete años de trabajo por Raquel; y debido a su amor por ella, le pareció muy poco tiempo.
Therfor Jacob seruyde seuene yeer for Rachel; and the daies semyden fewe to hym for the greetnesse of loue.
21 Entonces Jacob dijo a Labán: Dame mi mujer para que la tenga, porque los días han terminado.
And he seide to Laban, Yyue thou my wijf to me, for the tyme is fillid that Y entre to hir.
22 Y Labán reunió a todos los hombres del lugar y dio un banquete.
And whanne many cumpenyes of freendis weren clepid to the feeste, he made weddyngis,
23 Y a la tarde él tomó a Lea, su hija, y se la dio a él, y él durmió con ella.
and in the euentid Laban brouyte in to hym Lya his douytir,
24 Y Labán dio a Lea, su criada, Zilpa, para que fuera su hija Lea por criada.
and yaf an handmaide, Selfa bi name, to the douyter. And whanne Jacob hadde entrid to hir bi custom, whanne the morewtid was maad, he seiy Lya,
25 Y a la mañana Jacob vio que era Lea, y dijo a Labán: ¿Qué me has hecho? ¿No estaba trabajando para ti para poder tener a Raquel? ¿Por qué has sido falso conmigo?
and seide to his wyues fadir, What is it that thou woldist do? wher Y seruede not thee for Rachel? whi hast thou disseyued me?
26 Y Labán dijo: En nuestro país no permitimos que la hija menor se case antes que la mayor.
Laban answerde, It is not custom in oure place that we yyue first the `lesse douytris to weddyngis;
27 Deja que la semana de la fiesta de la novia llegue a su fin y luego te daremos la otra además, si tú serás mi siervo por otros siete años.
fille thou the wouke of daies of this couplyng, and Y schal yyue to thee also this Rachel, for the werk in which thou schalt serue me bi othere seuene yeer.
28 Y Jacob lo hizo así; y cuando terminó la semana, Labán le dio a su hija Raquel por su esposa.
Jacob assentide to the couenaunt, and whanne the wouke was passid,
29 Y Labán le dio a Raquel su sierva Bilha, por criada.
he weddide Rachel, to whom the fadir hadde youe Bala seruauntesse.
30 Entonces Jacob tomó a Raquel por esposa, y su amor por ella fue mayor que su amor por Lea; y siguió trabajando para Labán durante otros siete años.
And at the laste he vside the weddyngis desirid, and settide the loue of the `wijf suynge bifore the former; and he seruede at Laban seuene othere yeer.
31 Y él Señor, viendo que Lea no era amada, le dio un hijo; mientras que Raquel no tenía hijos.
Forsothe the Lord seiy that he dispiside Lya, and openyde hir wombe while the sistir dwellide bareyn.
32 Y Lea estaba encinta, y dio a luz un hijo al que puso por nombre Rubén, porque dijo: Él Señor ha visto mi aflicción; ahora mi esposo me amará.
And Lia childide a sone conseyued, and clepide his name Ruben, and seide, The Lord seiy my mekenesse; now myn hosebonde schal loue me.
33 Entonces ella volvió a tener un hijo y dio a luz un hijo; y dijo: Porque ha llegado a los oídos del Señor que yo no soy amada, él me ha dado a este hijo además; y le dio el nombre de Simeón.
And eft sche conseyuede, `and childide a sone, and seide, For the Lord seiy that Y was dispisid, he yaf also this sone to me; and sche clepide his name Symeon.
34 Y estuvo otra vez embarazada, y dio a luz un hijo; y dijo: Ahora, por fin, mi esposo se unirá a mí, porque le he dado tres hijos: así que se llamó Leví.
And sche conseyuede the thridde tyme, and childide anothir sone, and she seide also, Now myn hosebonde schal be couplid to me, for Y childide thre sones to him; and therfor sche clepide his name Leuy.
35 Y estuvo otra vez embarazada, y dio a luz un hijo, y dijo: Esta vez alabaré al SEÑOR; por lo cual se llamó Judá; después de esto ella no tuvo más hijos por un tiempo.
The fourthe tyme sche conseyuede, and childide a sone, and seide, Now I schal knouleche to the Lord; and herfor she clepide his name Judas; and ceesside to childe.
