Génesis 25
1 Y Abraham tomó otra mujer llamada Cetura.
And Abraham married another wife, named Cetura:
2 Ella se convirtió en la madre de Zimran, Jocsan, Medán, Madián, Isbac y Súa.
Who bore him Zamran, and Jecsan, and Madan, and Madian, and Jesboc, and Sue.
3 Y Jocsan, llegó a ser padre de Seba y Dedán, Y de Dedán vinieron los Asurim y Letusim y Leumim.
Jecsan also begot Saba and Dadan. The children of Dadan were Assurim, and Latusim, and Loomin.
4 Y de Madián vinieron Efa, Efer, Hanoc, Abida y Elda. Todos estos fueron descendientes de Cetura.
But of Madian was born Epha, and Opher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaa: all these were the children of Cetura.
5 Ahora bien, Abraham le dio todas sus propiedades a Isaac;
And Abraham gave all his possessions to Isaac.
6 Pero a los hijos de sus otras mujeres, él les dio ofrendas, y los envió lejos, mientras aún vivía, a la región oriental.
And to the children of the concubines he gave gifts, and separated them from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, to the east country.
7 Ahora los años de la vida de Abraham fueron ciento setenta y cinco.
And the days of Abraham’s life were a hundred and seventy-five years.
8 Y Abraham llegó a su muerte, un anciano, lleno de años; y él fue sepultado con su pueblo.
And decaying he died in a good old age, and having lived a long time, and being full of days: and was gathered to his people.
9 Entonces Isaac e Ismael, sus hijos, lo sepultaron en la cueva de Macpela, en el campo de Efrón, hijo de Zohar heteo, cerca de Mamre;
And Isaac and Ismael his sons buried him in the double cave, which was situated in the field of Ephron the son of Seor the Hethite, over against Mambre;
10 El mismo campo que Abraham obtuvo de los hijos de Het: allí Abraham fue sepultado con Sara, su esposa.
Which he had bought of the children of Heth: there was he buried, and Sara his wife.
11 Después de la muerte de Abraham, la bendición de Dios fue con Isaac, su hijo; y Gabito cerca al pozo Beer-Lahai-roi.
And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.
12 Estas son las generaciones de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, cuya madre fue Agar la egipcia, sierva de Sara:
These are the generations of Ismael the son of Abraham, whom Agar the Egyptian, Sara’s servant, bore unto him:
13 Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael por sus generaciones: el primer hijo de Ismael fue Nebaiot; luego Cedar, Adbeel y Mibsam,
And these are the names of his children according to their calling and generations. The firstborn of Ismael was Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam.
14 y Misma y Duma y Massa,
And Masma, and Duma, and Massa,
15 Hadad y Tema, Jetur, Nafis, y Cedema:
Hadar, and Thema, and Jethur, and Naphis, and Cedma.
16 Estos son los hijos de Ismael, y estos son sus nombres en sus ciudades y sus círculos de tiendas; doce jefes con sus pueblos.
These are the sons of Ismael: and these are their names by their castles and towns, twelve princes of their tribes.
17 Y los años de la vida de Ismael fueron ciento treinta y siete: y llegó a su fin, y fue sepultado con su pueblo.
And the years of Ismael’s life were a hundred and thirty-seven, and decaying he died, and was gathered unto his people.
18 Y su tierra fué desde Havila hasta Shur, que está al oriente de Egipto; y tomaron su lugar al oriente de todos sus hermanos.
And he dwelt from Hevila as far as Sur, which looketh towards Egypt, to them that go towards the Assyrians. He died in the presence of all his brethren.
19 Estas son las generaciones del hijo de Abraham, Isaac:
These also are the generations of Isaac the son of Abraham: Abraham begot Isaac:
20 Isaac tenía cuarenta años cuando tomó por mujer a Rebeca, hija de Betuel arameo de Padan-aram, y hermana de Labán arameo.
Who when he was forty years old, took to wife Rebecca the daughter of Bathuel the Syrian of Mesopotamia, sister to Laban.
21 Isaac oró al Señor por su esposa porque ella no tenía hijos; y el Señor oyó su oración, y Rebeca quedó encinta.
And Isaac besought the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and he heard him, and made Rebecca to conceive.
22 Y los niños peleaban juntos dentro de ella, y ella dijo: Si es así, ¿para qué vivo yo? Entonces ella fue a hacerle su pregunta al Señor.
But the children struggled in her womb: and she said: If it were to be so with me, what need was there to conceive? And she went to consult the Lord.
23 Y el Señor le dijo: Dos naciones hay en tu cuerpo, y dos pueblos nacerán de ti; el uno será más fuerte que el otro, y el mayor será el criado del menor.
And he answering said: Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be divided out of thy womb, and one people shall overcome the other, and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 Y cuando llegó el momento de dar a luz, había dos niños en su cuerpo.
And when her time was come to be delivered, behold twins were found in her womb.
25 Y el primero salió cubierto de vello rojo de pies a cabeza, y le pusieron el nombre de Esaú.
He that came forth first was red, and hairy like a skin: and his name was called Esau. Immediately the other coming forth, held his brother’s foot in his hand, and therefore he was called Jacob.
26 Y después de él, salió su hermano, y agarró el pie de Esaú; y se llamaba Jacob: Isaac tenía sesenta años cuando ella les dio a luz.
Isaac was threescore years old when the children were born unto him.
27 Y los muchachos alcanzaron su pleno crecimiento; y Esaú se convirtió en un hombre del campo abierto, un experto arquero; pero Jacob era un hombre callado, viviendo en tiendas de campaña.
And when they were grown up, Esau became a skillful hunter, and a husbandman, but Jacob a plain man dwelt in tents.
28 Y el amor de Isaac fue para Esaú, porque la carne de Esaú era grande para su gusto; pero Rebeca tenía más amor por Jacob.
Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his hunting: and Rebecca loved Jacob.
29 Y un día Jacob estaba cocinando una sopa cuando Esaú vino de los campos con gran necesidad de alimento;
And Jacob boiled pottage: to whom Esau, coming faint out of the field,
30 Y Esaú dijo a Jacob: Dame una comida completa de esa sopa roja, porque estoy abrumado por tanta hambre que tengo; por esta razón fue llamado Edom.
Said: Give me of this red pottage, for I am exceeding faint. For which reason his name was called Edom.
31 Y Jacob dijo: Antes que nada, dame tu primogenitura.
And Jacob said to him: Sell me thy first birthright.
32 Y dijo Esaú: Verdaderamente, estoy en el momento de la muerte: ¿de qué me sirve la primogenitura?
He answered: Lo I die, what will the first birthright avail me?
33 Y Jacob dijo: Antes que nada, dame tu juramento; y él le dio su juramento, entregando su primogenitura a Jacob.
Jacob said: Swear therefore to me. Esau swore to him, and sold his first birthright.
34 Entonces Jacob le dio pan y sopa; y él tomó comida y bebida y se fue, así menospreció Esaú su primogenitura.
And so taking bread and the pottage of lentils, he ate, and drank, and went his way; making little account of having sold his first birthright.
