Génesis 15
1 Después de estas cosas, la palabra del Señor v ino a Abram en visión, diciendo: No temas, Abram: Te guardaré, y grande será tu recompensa.
After these things the word of YHWH came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2 Y Abram dijo: ¿Qué me darás? porque no tengo hijos, y este Eliezer de Damasco tendrá todas mis riquezas después de mí.
And Abram said, Sovereign YHWH, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
3 Y dijo Abram: No me has dado hijo, y un siervo en mi casa tendrá heredad.
And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
4 Entonces dijo el Señor: Este hombre no tendrá heredad, pero un hijo de tu cuerpo tendrá tu propiedad después de ti.
And, behold, the word of YHWH came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
5 Y él lo sacó al aire libre, y le dijo: Levanta tus ojos al cielo, y ve si las estrellas pueden ser contadas; así será tu simiente.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6 Y tuvo fe en el Señor, y fue justificado en su honor.
And he believed in YHWH; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
7 Y él le dijo: Yo soy el Señor, que te tomó de Ur de los Caldeos, para darte esta tierra por tu heredad.
And he said unto him, I am YHWH that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
8 Y dijo: Oh Señor Dios, ¿cómo puedo estar seguro de que será mío?
And he said, Soverign YHWH, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9 Y él dijo: Toma una becerra y una cabra, cada una de tres años, y una paloma y un pichón.
And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
10 Tomó todos estos, cortándolos en dos y poniendo una mitad opuesta a la otra, pero no cortando las aves en dos.
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
11 Y las aves de rapiña descendieron sobre los cuerpos, pero Abram los ahuyentaba.
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
12 Y cuando el sol se ponía, un sueño profundo vino sobre Abram, y una nube oscura de temor.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13 Y dijo a Abram: Verdaderamente tu descendencia vivirá en una tierra que no es suya, como siervos de un pueblo que será cruel con ellos por cuatrocientos años;
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 Pero yo seré el juez de la nación cuyos siervos son, y saldrán de en medio de ellos con gran riqueza.
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 En cuanto a ti, irás a tus padres en paz; al final de una larga vida, te colocarán en tu último lugar de descanso.
And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
16 Y en la cuarta generación volverán aquí; porque en este momento el pecado del amorreo no está lleno.
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 Y cuando el sol se ponía y estaba oscuro, vio un fuego humeante y una luz encendida que se filtraba entre las partes de los cuerpos.
And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
18 En aquel día él Señor hizo un pacto con Abram, y dijo: A tu descendencia daré esta tierra desde el río de Egipto hasta el gran río Eufrates:
In the same day YHWH made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
19 La tierra de los ceneos, los cenezeos y los cadmoneos,
The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
20 y los heteos, y los ferezeos, y los refaítas,
And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
21 Y los amorreos, y los cananeos, y los gergeseos, y los jebuseos.
And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
