Génesis 11
1 Y toda la tierra tenía un lenguaje y una lengua.
And the whole earth is of one pronunciation, and of the same words,
2 Y aconteció que en su vagar del oriente, llegaron a un lugar llano en la tierra de Sinar, y allí se hicieron su lugar de vida.
and it cometh to pass, in their journeying from the east, that they find a valley in the land of Shinar, and dwell there;
3 Y se dijeron el uno al otro: Vamos, hagamos ladrillos, quemémoslos. Y tenían ladrillos por piedra, juntándolos con asfalto en vez de mezcla.
and they say each one to his neighbour, 'Give help, let us make bricks, and burn [them] thoroughly:' and the brick is to them for stone, and the bitumen hath been to them for mortar.
4 Y ellos dijeron: Vamos, hagamos una ciudad, y una torre cuya cima subirá al cielo; y hagamos un gran nombre para nosotros mismos, para que no seamos vagabundos sobre la faz de la tierra.
And they say, 'Give help, let us build for ourselves a city and tower, and its head in the heavens, and make for ourselves a name, lest we be scattered over the face of all the earth.'
5 Y el Señor bajó a ver la ciudad y la torre que los hijos de los hombres estaban construyendo.
And Jehovah cometh down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men have builded;
6 Y el Señor dijo: Mira, todos son un pueblo y tienen todo un lenguaje; y esto es solo el comienzo de lo que pueden hacer: y ahora no será posible mantenerlos fuera de cualquier propósito de ellos.
and Jehovah saith, 'Lo, the people [is] one, and one pronunciation [is] to them all, and this it hath dreamed of doing; and now, nothing is restrained from them of that which they have purposed to do.
7 Vengan, bajemos y quitemos el sentido de su lenguaje, para que no se puedan comunicar el uno al otro.
Give help, let us go down, and mingle there their pronunciation, so that a man doth not understand the pronunciation of his companion.'
8 Entonces él Señor Dios los envió a todas partes de la tierra; y dejaron de edificar su ciudad.
And Jehovah doth scatter them from thence over the face of all the earth, and they cease to build the city;
9 Así que se llamó Babel, porque allí el Señor quitó el sentido de todos los idiomas y desde allí el Señor los envió sobre toda la faz de la tierra.
therefore hath [one] called its name Babel, for there hath Jehovah mingled the pronunciation of all the earth, and from thence hath Jehovah scattered them over the face of all the earth.
10 Estas son las generaciones de Sem. Sem tenía cien años cuando se convirtió en el padre de Arfaxad, dos años después del gran diluvio de aguas;
These [are] births of Shem: Shem [is] a son of an hundred years, and begetteth Arphaxad two years after the deluge.
11 Y después del nacimiento de Arfaxad, Sem vivió quinientos años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And Shem liveth after his begetting Arphaxad five hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
12 Y Arfaxad tenía treinta y cinco años cuando llegó a ser padre de Sala.
And Arphaxad hath lived five and thirty years, and begetteth Salah.
13 Y después del nacimiento de Sala, Arfaxad vivió cuatrocientos y tres años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And Arphaxad liveth after his begetting Salah four hundred and three years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
14 Y Sala tenía treinta años cuando llegó a ser padre de Heber.
And Salah hath lived thirty years, and begetteth Eber.
15 Y después del nacimiento de Heber, Sala vivió cuatrocientos y tres años, y tuvo hijos e hijas:
And Salah liveth after his begetting Eber four hundred and three years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
16 Y Heber tenía treinta y cuatro años cuando llegó a ser padre de Peleg:
And Eber liveth four and thirty years, and begetteth Peleg.
17 Y después del nacimiento de Peleg, Heber vivió cuatrocientos treinta años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And Eber liveth after his begetting Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
18 Y Peleg tenía treinta años cuando fue padre de Reu:
And Peleg liveth thirty years, and begetteth Reu.
19 Y después del nacimiento de Reu, Peleg vivió doscientos nueve años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And Peleg liveth after his begetting Reu two hundred and nine years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
20 Y Reu tenía treinta y dos años cuando se convirtió en el padre de Serug:
And Reu liveth two and thirty years, and begetteth Serug.
21 Y después del nacimiento de Serug, Reu vivió por doscientos y siete años, y tuvo hijos e hijas:
And Reu liveth after his begetting Serug two hundred and seven years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
22 Y Serug tenía treinta años cuando llegó a ser padre de Nacor:
And Serug liveth thirty years, and begetteth Nahor.
23 Y después del nacimiento de Nacor, Serug vivió doscientos años y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And Serug liveth after his begetting Nahor two hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
24 Y Nacor tenía veintinueve años cuando llegó a ser padre de Taré.
And Nahor liveth nine and twenty years, and begetteth Terah.
25 Y después del nacimiento de Taré, Nacor vivió por ciento diecinueve años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And Nahor liveth after his begetting Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begetteth sons and daughters.
26 Y Taré tenía setenta años cuando llegó a ser padre de Abram, Nacor y Harán.
And Terah liveth seventy years, and begetteth Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27 Estas son las generaciones de Taré: Taré fue el padre de Abram, Nacor y Harán; y Harán era el padre de Lot.
And these [are] births of Terah: Terah hath begotten Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran hath begotten Lot;
28 Y la muerte vino a Harán cuando estaba con su padre Taré en la tierra de su nacimiento, Ur de los Caldeos.
and Haran dieth in the presence of Terah his father, in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.
29 Y tomaron Abram y Nacor para sí mujeres: la nombre de la mujer de Abram fué Sarai, y el nombre de la mujer de Nacor: Milca, hija de Harán, padre de Milca e Isca.
And Abram and Nahor take to themselves wives; the name of Abram's wife [is] Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife [is] Milcah, daughter of Haran, father of Milcah, and father of Iscah.
30 Y Sarai no tuvo hijos.
And Sarai is barren — she hath no child.
31 Y Taré tomó a Abram, su hijo, y a Lot, hijo de Harán, y a Sarai, su nuera, la mujer de su hijo Abram, y salieron de Ur de los Caldeos, para ir a la tierra de Canaán; y vinieron a Harán, y estuvieron allí por algún tiempo.
And Terah taketh Abram his son, and Lot, son of Haran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, wife of Abram his son, and they go out with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come unto Charan, and dwell there.
32 Y todos los años de la vida de Taré fueron doscientos cinco: y Taré llegó a su fin en Harán.
And the days of Terah are two hundred and five years, and Terah dieth in Charan.
