Ezequiel 31
1 En el año undécimo, en el tercer mes, el primer día del mes, vino a mí la palabra del Señor, que decía:
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
2 Hijo de hombre, di a Faraón, rey de Egipto, y a su pueblo; ¿A Quién te pareces en tu gran poder?
Son of man Say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt and unto his multitude, — Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
3 He aquí Asiria era un árbol de cedro con hermosas ramas y frondosas, dando sombra y muy alto que su cima estaba entre las nubes.
Lo! Assyria, was a cedar in Lebanon, Beautiful in bough and Dense in foliage and Lofty in stature, — and Among the clouds, came to be his top:
4 Obtuvo fuerza de las aguas y la profundidad la hizo alta; sus arroyos rodearon su tierra plantada y enviaron sus cursos de agua a todos los árboles del campo.
The waters made him great, the roaring deep, made him high—with its currents going round about the place where it was planted, Its channels also, it sent forth unto all the trees of the field.
5 De esta manera se volvió más alto que todos los árboles del campo; y sus ramas aumentaron y sus brazos se alargaron a causa de tantas aguas.
For this cause higher, was his stature than any of the trees of the field, -And multiplied were his boughs And lengthened were his branches, By reason of the mighty waters when he shot forth shoots.
6 En sus ramas todas las aves del cielo se posaron, y bajo sus brazos todas las bestias del campo dieron a luz a sus crías, y grandes naciones vivían en su sombra.
Among his branches, all the birds of the heavens, made their nests, And under his boughs, all the wild beasts of the field, brought forth, — And, in his shade, dwelt all the mighty nations.
7 Así que era hermoso, siendo tan alto y sus ramas tan largas, porque su raíz estaba cerca de aguas abundantes.
Thus became he beautiful in his greatness, In the length of his waving branches, Because his root had gone towards mighty waters.
8 No hay cedros iguales en el jardín de Dios; Los abetos no eran como sus ramas, y los plátanos no eran nada en comparación con sus brazos; Ningún árbol en el jardín de Dios era tan hermoso.
Cedars hid him not. in the garden of God, Fir-trees were not like unto his boughs, Nor plane-trees, like his branches, —no, tree in the garden of God, was like unto him in his beauty.
9 Lo hice hermoso con sus ramas frondosas: para que todos los árboles en el jardín de Dios estuvieran llenos de envidia.
Beautiful, I made him in the abundance of his waving branches, - Therefore was he envied by all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God.
10 Por esta causa, el Señor ha dicho: Porque él es alto y ha puesto su cima entre las nubes, y su corazón está lleno de orgullo porque él es tan alto.
Therefore Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Because thou hast become lofty in stature, And he hath stretched his top among the clouds, And his heart is exalted in his loftiness.
11 Lo he entregado en manos de un poderoso de las naciones; ciertamente le dará la recompensa de su pecado, lo he repudiado.
Let me then deliver him into the hand of the chief of the nations, He shall effectually deal with him! According to his lawlessness, have I driven him out:
12 Y los hombres extranjeros, los más temidos entre las naciones, después de cortarlo, lo han dejado en las montañas, y en todos los valles han descendido sus ramas; sus ramas están rotas por todos los cursos de agua de la tierra; todos los pueblos de la tierra han salido de su sombra, y lo abandonado.
Therefore have foreigners the terrible of the nations cut him down. And abandoned him, — Upon the mountains and in all valleys, have fallen his waving branches And broken have been his boughs in all the river-beds of the land, And all the peoples of the earth have come down out of his shade. And abandoned him:
13 Todas las aves del cielo han venido a descansar sobre sus ruinas, y todas las bestias del campo estarán en sus ramas.
Upon his trunk, shall settle down all the birds of the heavens, - And among his boughs, are to be found all the wild beasts of the field: —
14 Para que ningún árbol cerca de las aguas se exalte a sí mismo en su crecimiento, poniendo sus cumbres entre las nubes; ni en su ramas se paren por su altura todos los que beben agua; todos ellos son entregados a la muerte, a las partes más bajas de la tierra entre los hijos de los hombres, con los que descienden al inframundo.
To the end that none of the trees of the waters— May exalt themselves in their stature or stretch their top among the clouds, Nor their mighty ones take their stand in their height- any that drink of the waters, — Because they all, are delivered to death Unto the earth below. In the midst of the sons of Adam. Amongst them who descend into the pit.
15 Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: el día en que descienda al inframundo, le haré una profunda angustia; Retendré sus arroyos y las aguas profundas se detendrán. Haré que el Líbano se cubra de luto por él, y todos los árboles del campo se desmayaron a causa de él. (Sheol h7585)
Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, In the day when he descended into hades, I caused a mourning. I covered over him the roaring deep, And restrained the currents thereof And stayed were the mighty waters, So caused I gloom over him unto Lebanon, And all the trees of the field for him were covered with a shroud. (Sheol h7585)
16 Enviaré un temblor a las naciones al oír su caída, cuando lo envíe al inframundo con los que descienden a la fosa: y en la tierra se consolarán a sí mismos, todos los árboles del Edén. Lo mejor del Líbano, incluso todos los regados. (Sheol h7585)
At the sound of his fall, I made nations tremble, When I caused him to descend into hades, with them who descend into the pit, — Then were grieved in the earth below-All the trees of Eden, The choicest and best of Lebanon All who had drunk the waters. (Sheol h7585)
17 Y ellos descenderán con él al inframundo, a los que han sido juzgados; incluso aquellos que fueron sus ayudantes, que vivían bajo su sombra entre las naciones. (Sheol h7585)
Even they, with him descended into hades. Among them who were thrust through with the sword, - Even his seed who dwelt in his shade in the midst of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
18 ¿Quién entonces, eres comparado en gloria y grandeza entre los árboles del Edén? porque serás derribado con los árboles del Edén a las partes más bajas de la tierra; allí serás tendido entre los que no tienen circuncisión, y los que fueron puestos a la espada. Este es Faraón y todo su pueblo, dice el Señor Dios.
Unto whom couldst thou be likened thus, in glory and in greatness, among the trees of Eden? Yet shalt thou be caused to descend with the trees of Eden into the earth below In the midst of the uncircumcised, shalt thou lie down With them who were thrust through by the sword, the same, is Pharaoh and all his multitude, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
