Ezequiel 24

1 Y la palabra del Señor vino a mí en el noveno año, en el mes décimo, al décimo día del mes, diciendo:

And the word of the Lord came unto me in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, saying,

2 Hijo de hombre, escríbelo hoy mismo: el rey de Babilonia soltó el peso de su ataque contra Jerusalén en este mismo día.

Son of man, write thee down the name of this day, of this same day: the king of Babylon hath advanced against Jerusalem on this same day.

3 Y diles una parábola a esta gente rebelde y diles: Esto es lo que el Señor Dios ha dicho: Pon una olla, ponla en él fuego y pon agua en ella.

And speak concerning the rebellious family a parable, and say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Set on the pot, set it on, and also pour water into it;

4 Reúne los pedazos, toda buena parte, la pierna, el lomo; llénala de los mejores huesos.

Gather the proper pieces into it, every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it up with the choice bones.

5 Junten lo mejor del rebaño, pon también los huesos debajo; vean que sus pedacitos están hirviendo bien; Deja que los huesos se cocinen en su interior.

Take the choice of the flock, and make also a fire for the bones under it: cause it to seethe well, that even the bones therein may be fully boiled through.

6 Porque esto es lo que el Señor Dios ha dicho: ¡Hay de la ciudad sanguinaria, la olla de cocción que está sucia en el interior, que nunca se ha limpiado! saca sus trozos; Su destino aún está por venir.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Woe to the city of blood-guiltiness, to the pot the scum of which is yet in it, and the scum of which is not gone out of it! one of its pieces after the other take out from it: no lot is cast for it.

7 Porque su sangre está en ella; la puso sobre la roca abierta y no la drenó sobre la tierra para que pudiera quedar cubierta de polvo;

For her blood was in the midst of her; on the naked rock did she place it: she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it over with dust.

8 Para que pueda surgir la ira y castigar, ella ha puesto su sangre en la roca abierta, para que no quede cubierta.

To cause my fury to arise to take vengeance, do I place her blood upon the naked rock, so that it shall not be covered up.

9 Por esta causa el Señor ha dicho: ¡Hay una maldición en el pueblo de sangre! y haré grande la hoguera ardiente.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Woe to the city of blood-guiltiness! I also will myself build up a large burning pile,

10 Pon mucha madera, calienta el fuego, hierve bien la carne, espesa la sopa y deja que los huesos se quemen.

Heaping on the wood, kindling the fire, thoroughly boiling the flesh, and stirring the mixture, that the bones may be scorched.

11 Y la pondré sobre las brasas para que pueda calentarse y quemar su bronce, para que lo que es impuro en ella se ablande y su basura se elimine por completo.

Then will I set it empty upon its coals, in order that it may become hot, and its copper be made to glow, and its uncleanness may be molten in it, that its scum may be consumed.

12 Se ha cansado con sus fraudes; todavía no ha salido todo el desperdicio que hay en ella, consumase todo desperdicio en él fuego.

With fraud hath she wearied [the poor]; therefore shall not go forth from her the greatness of her scum: through fire shall her scum [be removed].

13 Porque en tu depravación hay inmundicia; porque he intentado limpiarte, pero no te han quitado nada, no te limpiarán hasta que te haya dejado reposar mi furor sobre ti en toda medida.

In thy uncleanness is [thy] incest; because I endeavored to cleanse thee, and thou wouldst not be clean, thou shalt not be cleansed from thy uncleanness any more, until I have assuaged my fury on thee.

14 Yo, el Señor, he dicho la palabra y la haré; No volveré ni tendré piedad, y mi propósito no cambiará; en la medida de tus acciones y de tus obras, te juzgaré, dice el Señor Dios.

I the Lord have spoken it; it cometh to pass, and I will do it; I will not recall my decree, and I will not have pity, nor will I repent: according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall men judge thee, saith the Lord Eternal.

15 Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

16 Hijo de hombre, mira, estoy quitando el deseo de tus ojos por la muerte; pero no dejes que el dolor o el llanto o las lágrimas de tus ojos.

Son of man, behold, I will take away from thee the desire of thy eyes by a sudden death; but thou shalt neither mourn nor weep, nor shalt thou shed a tear.

17 Que no haya sonido de tristeza; no llores por tus muertos, ponte el tocado y los zapatos sobre tus pies, no dejes que se cubran tus labios y no tomes la comida de los que están en duelo.

Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the deceased, thy bonnet bind around thy head, and thy shoes put on thy feet, and cover not thyself to thy upper lip, and eat not the bread of [other] men.

18 Por la mañana estaba enseñando a la gente y por la tarde la muerte se llevó a mi esposa; Y por la mañana hice lo que me habían ordenado hacer.

And when I had spoken unto the people in the morning, my wife died at evening: and I did in the morning as I had been commanded.

19 Y el pueblo me dijo: ¿No nos explicarás en claro el sentido de estas cosas? ¿Es por nosotros que los haces?

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things mean for us, that thou doest so?

20 Entonces les dije: La palabra del Señor vino a mí, diciendo:

And I said unto them, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

21 Di a la gente de Israel: El Señor Dios ha dicho: Mira, haré impuro mi lugar santo, el orgullo de tu fortaleza, el placer de tus ojos y el deseo de tu alma; y tus hijos e hijas, que no vinieron contigo aquí, caerán por la espada.

Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and the darling of your soul: and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.

22 Y harás lo que yo he hecho, sin taparte los labios ni tomar la comida de los que están en duelo.

And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover yourselves to your upper lip, and the bread of other men shall ye not eat.

23 Y tus turbantes estarán sobre sus cabezas y tus zapatos sobre sus pies: no habrá tristeza ni llanto; pero estarán consumidos en el castigo de su maldad, y gemirán entre ustedes con asombro.

And your bonnets shall be around your heads, and your shoes shall be on your feet: ye shall not mourn nor shall ye weep; but ye shall pine away in your iniquities, and groan, looking one at the other.

24 Ezequiel será una señal para ustedes, todo lo que él ha hecho, ustedes harán; cuando esto suceda, sabrán de que yo soy el Señor Dios.

Thus shall Ezekiel be unto you for a token; in accordance with all that he hath done shall ye do: when this cometh, then shall ye know that I am the Lord Eternal.

25 Y en cuanto a ti, hijo de hombre, tu boca se cerrará en el día en que les quite su poder, el gozo de su gloria, el deseo de sus ojos y aquello en lo que se fijan sus corazones y sus hijos e hijas.

Also, thou son of man, behold, on the day when I take from them their stronghold, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and the coveted object of their soul, their sons and their daughters, —

26 En ese día, alguien que se haya escapado a salvo vendrá a darte una noticia al respecto.

On that day there shall come one that hath escaped unto thee, and announce it to thy ears.

27 En ese día tu boca se abrirá para él que ha escapado, y hablaras y dejarás de ser mudo; entonces será una señal para ellos y estarán seguros de que Yo soy el Señor.

On that day shall thy mouth be opened through him that hath escaped, and thou shalt speak, and thou shalt not be silenced any more: and thou shalt be a token unto them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
