Ezequiel 15

1 Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo: Profecía

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

2 Hijo de hombre, ¿En qué es mejor el árbol de la vid que cualquier árbol que se encuentre entre los árboles del bosque?

Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?

3 ¿Se usará su madera para cualquier trabajo? ¿Los hombres lo convierten en una estaca para colgar cualquier vasija?

Shall wood be taken thereof to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

4 Mira, se pone en el fuego para quemar; el fuego ha hecho una comida de sus dos extremos y la parte media del mismo se quema; ¿Es bueno para algo?

Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hath devoured both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned: is it profitable for any work?

5 En verdad, antes de que fuera cortado, no se usaba para ningún propósito; cuánto menos, cuando el fuego lo ha consumido y se quema, ¿se convertirá en algo?

Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!

6 Por esto ha dicho el Señor: Como el árbol de la vid entre los árboles de los bosques que he dado al fuego para quemar, así daré a la gente de Jerusalén.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 Y mi rostro se volverá contra ellos; y aunque hayan salido del fuego, serán quemados por él; y sabrán que yo soy el Señor cuando mi rostro se vuelva contra ellos.

And I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I set my face against them.

8 Y haré de la tierra un desperdicio porque han cometido infidelidad, dice el Señor.

And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord Jehovah.
