Éxodo 6
1 Y él Señor dijo a Moisés: Ahora verás lo que voy a hacer a Faraón; porque con una mano fuerte se verá obligado a dejarlos ir, expulsándolos de su tierra a causa de mi brazo extendido.
But the Lord told Moses, “Now you'll see what I'm going to do to Pharaoh. Using my great strength I will force him to let them go; because of my power he will send them out from his country.”
2 Y dijo Dios a Moisés: Yo soy el Señor.
God spoke to Moses and told him, “I am Yahweh!
3 Me dejé ver por Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, como Dios, el Gobernante de todos; pero ellos no sabían mi nombre Él SEÑOR.
I revealed myself as God Almighty to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, but they didn't know my name, ‘Yahweh.’
4 Y pacté con ellos, para darles la tierra de Canaán, la tierra de sus andanzas.
I also confirmed my solemn agreement with them to give them the land of Canaan, the country where they were living as foreigners.
5 Y mis oídos están abiertos al clamor de los hijos de Israel, a quienes los egipcios tienen bajo su yugo; y he tenido en cuenta mi pacto.
In addition I've heard the groans of the Israelites that the Egyptians are treating as slaves, and I haven't forgotten the agreement I promised them.
6 Di, pues, a los hijos de Israel: Yo soy EL SEÑOR, y te sacaré del yugo de los egipcios, y te libraré de su poder, y te libraré con la fuerza de mi brazo después de grandes castigos.
So tell the Israelites, ‘I am the Lord and I will save you from the forced labor the Egyptians are making you do; I will set you free from being their slaves. I will rescue you using my power and imposing heavy punishments.
7 Y te tomaré para que seas mi pueblo y yo seré tu Dios; y estarás seguro de que yo soy el SEÑOR tu Dios, que te saca del yugo de los egipcios.
I will make you my own people. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in Egypt.
8 Y seré tu guía en la tierra que juré dar a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob; y yo te lo daré por tu herencia: SOY EL SEÑOR.
I will take you to the land that I solemnly promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you to own. I am the Lord!’”
9 Y Moisés dijo estas palabras a los hijos de Israel, pero ellos no le prestaron atención, por el dolor de su espíritu y el peso cruel de su yugo.
Moses explained this to the Israelites but they did not listen to him, because they were so discouraged and because of the hard labor they were forced to do.
10 Y Él Señor dijo a Moisés:
Then the Lord said to Moses,
11 Entra y di a Faraón, rey de Egipto, que deje ir a los hijos de Israel de su tierra.
“Go and speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Tell him to let the Israelites leave his country.”
12 Entonces Moisés, respondiendo al SEÑOR, dijo: Mira, los hijos de Israel no me prestarán atención; ¿cómo, pues, me escuchará el Faraón, cuyos labios son inmundos?
But Moses replied, “Even my own people don't listen to me. Why would Pharaoh listen to me, especially since I'm such a poor speaker?”
13 Y fué palabra de Él Señor a Moisés y á Aarón, y les dio órdenes para los hijos de Israel y de Faraón, rey de Egipto, para sacar á los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto.
But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and told them what to do regarding the people of Israel and Pharaoh, king of Egypt, in order to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.
14 Estas son las cabezas de las familias de sus padres: los hijos de Rubén, el hijo mayor de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi; estas son las familias de Rubén.
These were the Israelite family heads. The sons of Reuben, the firstborn son of Israel, were Hanok and Pallu, Hezron and Karmi. These were the families of Reuben.
15 Y los hijos de Simeón: Jemuel, Jamín, Ohad, Jaquín, Zohar, y Saúl, hijo de mujer de Canaán. Estas son las familias de Simeón.
The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, (the son of a Canaanite woman). These were the families of Simeon.
16 Y estos son los nombres de los hijos de Leví en el orden de sus generaciones: Gersón, Coat y Merari; y los años de la vida de Leví fueron ciento treinta y siete.
These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their genealogical records: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi lived for 137 years.
17 Los hijos de Gersón: Libni y Simei, en el orden de sus familias.
The sons of Gershon, by families, were Libni and Shimei.
18 Y los hijos de Coat: Amram, e Izhar, y Hebrón, y Uziel; y los años de la vida de Coat, ciento treinta y tres.
The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath lived for 133 years.
19 Y los hijos de Merari: Mahli y Musi: estas son las familias de los levitas, en el orden de sus generaciones.
The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the families of the Levites according to their genealogical records.
20 Y Amram tomó a Jocabed, la hermana de su padre, como esposa; y ella dio a luz a Aarón y a Moisés, y los años de la vida de Amram fueron ciento treinta y siete.
Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, and she had their sons Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for 137 years.
21 Y los hijos de Izhar: Coré, y Nefeg, y Zicri.
The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 Y los hijos de Uziel: Misael, Elzafán y Sitri.
The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
23 Y tomó Aarón por mujer a Elisabet, hija de Aminadab, hermana de Naasón; y ella dio a luz a Nadab y Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.
Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon. She had their sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 Y los hijos de Coré: Asir, Elcana y Abiasaf: estas son las familias de los Coréitas.
The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite families.
25 Y Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, tomó por esposa a una de las hijas de Futiel; y ella dio a luz a Finees. Estos son los jefes de las familias de los levitas, en el orden de sus familias.
Eleazar, son of Aaron, married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she had their son Phinehas. These are the ancestors of the Levite families, listed according to their clans. Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she gave birth to his son, Phinehas. These are the heads of the Levite families, listed by family.
26 Estos son el mismo Aarón y Moisés a quienes el Señor dijo: Saca a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto de acuerdo a sus ejércitos.
Aaron and Moses mentioned here are the ones the Lord told, “Lead the Israelites out of Egypt, divided up in their respective tribes.”
27 Estos son los hombres que ordenaron a Faraón que dejara salir a los hijos de Israel de Egipto: estos son los mismos Moisés y Aarón.
Moses and Aaron were also the ones who went to speak with Pharaoh, king of Egypt, about the Israelites leaving Egypt.
28 Y el día que vino la palabra de Señor a Moisés en la tierra de Egipto,
When the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt,
29 Dijo el Señor a Moisés: Yo soy el Señor; di a Faraón, rey de Egipto, todo lo que te digo.
he said to him, “I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I tell you.”
30 Y dijo Moisés a él Señor: Mis labios son torpes para hablar; ¿Cómo es posible que Faraón me haga una audiencia?
But Moses replied, “I'm not a good speaker—why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
