Éxodo 23
1 No dejes que una declaración falsa vaya más allá; no hagas un acuerdo con los malvados para ser un testigo falso.
Thou shalt not receive a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 No te dejes llevar a hacer lo incorrecto por la opinión de muchos, en una disputa no te irás del lado de la mayoría para cometer injusticia:
Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause, to incline after many, to wrest judgment.
3 Pero, por otro lado, no te desvíes de lo correcto para dar apoyo a la causa de un pobre hombre.
Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4 Si te cruzas con el buey o el asno de alguien que no es amigo tuyo, debes devolverlo.
If thou meet thy enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 Si ves el burro de alguien que te odia; inclinado a la tierra bajo el peso de su carga, debes acudir en su ayuda, incluso en contra de tu deseo.
If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to unload him, [thou must not do so, but] thou shalt surely unload with him.
6 Que no se den decisiones equivocadas en la causa del pobre hombre.
Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
7 Manténte lejos de cualquier asunto falso; no mates al inocente y justo, porque haré al malhechor responsable de su pecado.
Keep thyself far from a false speech; and him who hath been declared innocent and righteous thou shalt not slay; for I will not justify the wicked.
8 No tomes soborno por una causa: porque los sobornos ciegan a los que tienen ojos para ver, y pervierte las decisiones de los justos.
And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blindeth the clear-sighted, and perverteth the words of the righteous.
9 No seas duro con el hombre de un país extraño que vive entre ti; porque ustedes han tenido experiencia de los sentimientos de alguien que está lejos de la tierra de su nacimiento, porque ustedes mismos estaban viviendo en Egipto, en una tierra extraña.
And a stranger shalt thou not oppress; for ye know well the spirit of the stranger, seeing ye yourselves were strangers in the land of Egypt.
10 Durante seis años pon semillas en tus campos y recoge la cosecha;
And six years shalt thou sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof;
11 Pero en el séptimo año, deja que la tierra descanse y no sea sembrada; para que los pobres puedan tener comida de ella; y que las bestias del campo se lleven el resto. Haz lo mismo con tus viñedos y tus olivos.
But the seventh year shalt thou let it rest and lie still; that the needy of thy people may eat [of it]; and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat: in like manner shalt thou deal with thy vineyard, and with thy olive tree.
12 Durante seis días haz tu trabajo, y en el séptimo día guarda el sábado; para que tu buey y tu asno puedan descansar, junto con el hijo de tu siervo y el hombre de una tierra extraña que vive entre ti.
Six days shalt thou do thy work, and on the seventh day shalt thou rest; that thy ox and thy ass may repose, and the son of thy hand-maid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
13 Toma nota de todas estas cosas que te he dicho, y no permitas que los nombres de otros dioses entren en tu mente o en tus labios.
And in all things that I have said unto you be on your guard; and of the name of other gods ye shall make no mention, it shall not be heard out of thy mouth.
14 Tres veces en el año debes celebrar una fiesta para mí.
Three times shalt thou keep a feast unto me in the year.
15 Debes guardar la fiesta de los panes sin levadura; por siete días deja que tu pan sea sin levadura, como yo te ordené, en el tiempo regular en el mes de Abib (porque en él saliste de Egipto); y que nadie venga delante de mí sin una ofrenda:
The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month of Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty.
16 y la fiesta de la siega de los granos, primicias de tus campos plantados; y la fiesta de comienzos de año, cuando hayas recogido todo el fruto de tus campos.
And the feast of harvest, of the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou hast sown in thy field: and the feast of ingathering, at the conclusion of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labors out of the field.
17 Tres veces en el año, que todos tus hombres vayan delante del Señor Dios.
Three times in the year shall all thy males appear before the Lord, the Eternal.
18 No ofrezcas la sangre de mi ofrenda con pan con levadura; y no permitas que la grasa de mi fiesta se guarde toda la noche hasta la mañana.
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my festive sacrifice remain until morning.
19 Lo mejor de las primicias de tu tierra será llevado a la casa del Señor tu Dios. El cabrito no debe cocinarse con la leche materna.
The first of the first-fruits of thy land shalt thou bring unto the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk.
20 Mira, estoy enviando un ángel delante de ti, para mantenerte en tu camino y ser tu guía en el lugar que he preparado para ti.
Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee on the way, and to bring thee unto the place which I have prepared.
21 Presta atención a él y presta oído a su voz; no vayas contra él; porque tu mal no será ignorado por él, porque mi nombre está en él.
Beware of him, and obey his voice, disobey him not; for he will not pardon your transgression, because my name is in him.
22 Pero si realmente escuchas su voz y haces lo que yo digo, entonces estaré en contra de los que están en tu contra, luchando contra los que te están combatiendo.
But if thou wilt carefully hearken to his voice, and do all that I shall speak: then will I be an enemy unto thy enemies, and afflict those that afflict thee.
23 Y mi ángel irá delante de ti, y te guiará a la tierra del amorreo, del heteo, del ferezeo, del cananeo, del heveo y del jebuseo, y ellos serán cortados de mi mano.
For my angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Emorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.
24 No te postrarás a adorar a sus dioses, ni los servirás ni harás lo que hacen ellos; pero destruirás por completo sus estatuas.
Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their deeds; but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and completely break down their statuary images.
25 Y adora al Señor tu Dios, que enviará su bendición sobre tu pan y sobre tu agua; y quitaré toda enfermedad de entre ustedes.
And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will remove sickness from the midst of thee.
26 Nadie sufrirá abortos o será estéril en tu tierra; Te daré una medida completa de vida.
There shall be no one casting her children, nor a barren woman, in thy land; the number of thy days I will make full.
27 Enviaré mi terror delante de ti, poniendo en fuga a todo el pueblo al que vienes; todos aquellos que están en contra de ti irán de regreso a la fuga confundidos.
My terror will I send before thee, and will bring in confusion all the people to which thou shalt come; and I will make all thy enemies turn their back unto thee.
28 Enviaré avispas delante de ti, expulsando al heveo, al cananeo y al hitita delante de ti.
And I will send hornets before thee, and they shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.
29 No los enviaré a todos en un año, por temor a que su tierra se convierta en desierto, y las bestias del campo se aumenten demasiado contra ti.
I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
30 Poco a poco los enviaré delante de ti, hasta que aumente tu número y retomas tu herencia en la tierra.
Little by little will I drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased and canst possess the land.
31 Dejaré que los límites de tu tierra sean desde el Mar Rojo hasta el mar de los filisteos, y desde el desierto hasta el río Éufrates: porque daré a la gente de esas tierras en tu poder; y los echarás de delante de ti.
And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river; for I will deliver into your hand the inhabitants of the land, and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
32 No hagas ningún acuerdo con ellos o con sus dioses.
Thou shalt not make a covenant with them, nor with their gods.
33 Ni los dejes quedarse en tu tierra, o te harán hacer mal contra mí; porque si adoras a sus dioses, ciertamente será tu perdición.
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they cause thee to sin against me; for thou mightest [be led to] serve their gods, and this would surely be a snare unto thee.
