Éxodo 14
1 Y él Señor dijo a Moisés:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
2 Ordena a los hijos de Israel que vuelvan y levanten sus tiendas delante de Pi-hahirot, entre Migdol y el mar, frente a Baal-zefón, frente a la cual pondrás tus tiendas junto al mar.
'Speak unto the sons of Israel, and they turn back and encamp before Pi-Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-Zephon; over-against it ye do encamp by the sea,
3 Y el Faraón dirá de los hijos de Israel: vagan sin rumbo; están encerrados en el desierto.
and Pharaoh hath said of the sons of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut upon them;
4 Y yo endureceré el corazón de Faraón, y él los perseguirá, y seré honrado sobre Faraón y todo su ejército, para que Egipto vea que yo soy el Señor. Y lo hicieron.
and I have strengthened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath pursued after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, and the Egyptians have known that I [am] Jehovah;' and they do so.
5 Y llegó la noticia a Faraón de la huida del pueblo; y el sentir de Faraón y de sus siervos acerca del pueblo cambió, y dijeron: ¿Por qué dejamos ir a Israel para que no trabaje más por nosotros?
And it is declared to the king of Egypt that the people hath fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants is turned against the people, and they say, 'What [is] this we have done? that we have sent Israel away from our service.'
6 Así que hizo preparar su carro de guerra y se llevó a su pueblo con él:
And he harnesseth his chariot, and his people he hath taken with him,
7 Y tomó seiscientos carruajes, todos los vagones de Egipto, y capitanes sobre todos ellos.
and he taketh six hundred chosen chariots, even all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over them all;
8 Y el Señor endureció el corazón de Faraón, y siguió a los hijos de Israel; porque los hijos de Israel habían salido sin temor.
and Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursueth after the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel are going out with a high hand,
9 Pero los egipcios los siguieron, todos los caballos y carruajes de Faraón, y su gente de a caballo, y su ejército; y los alcanzaron en sus tiendas junto al mar, en Pi Hahirot, delante de Baal-zefón.
and the Egyptians pursue after them, and all the chariot horses of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his force, overtake them, encamping by the sea, by Pi-Hahiroth, before Baal-Zephon.
10 Cuando el Faraón se acercó, los hijos de Israel levantaron los ojos y vieron a los egipcios que los perseguían, llenos de temor. y su clamor fue a Dios.
And Pharaoh hath drawn near, and the sons of Israel lift up their eyes, and lo, the Egyptians are journeying after them, and they fear exceedingly, and the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah.
11 Y ellos dijeron a Moisés: ¿No hay lugar de descanso para los muertos en Egipto, que nos has quitado para venir a nuestra muerte en el desierto? ¿Por qué nos has sacado de Egipto?
And they say unto Moses, 'Because there are no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in a wilderness? what is this thou hast done to us — to bring us out from Egypt?
12 ¿No te dijimos en Egipto: Seamos como nosotros, que trabajamos para los egipcios? porque es mejor ser siervos de los egipcios que venir a nuestra muerte en él desierto.
Is not this the word which we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Cease from us, and we serve the Egyptians; for better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in a wilderness?'
13 Pero Moisés dijo: Quédate donde estás, y no temas; ahora verás la salvación del Señor que él te dará hoy; para los egipcios a quienes ves hoy nunca volverás a ver.
And Moses saith unto the people, 'Fear not, station yourselves, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which He doth for you to-day; for, as ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye add no more to see them — to the age;
14 El Señor hará la guerra por ti, solo tienes que callarte.
Jehovah doth fight for you, and ye keep silent.'
15 Y él Señor dijo a Moisés: ¿Por qué clamas a mí? dale a los hijos de Israel la orden de seguir adelante.
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'What? thou criest unto Me — speak unto the sons of Israel, and they journey;
16 Y tú levanta tu vara, y tu mano se extienda sobre el mar, y se partirá en dos; y los hijos de Israel pasarán en tierra firme.
and thou, lift up thy rod, and stretch out thy hand towards the sea, and cleave it, and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea on dry land.
17 Y endureceré el corazón de los egipcios, y los seguirán; y seré honrado sobre Faraón y sobre su ejército, sus carros de guerra y sus jinetes.
'And I — lo, I am strengthening the heart of the Egyptians, and they go in after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, on his chariots, and on his horsemen;
18 Y los egipcios verán que yo soy el Señor, cuando tenga honor sobre Faraón y sus carruajes de guerra y sus jinetes.
and the Egyptians have known that I [am] Jehovah, in My being honoured on Pharaoh, on his chariots, and on his horsemen.'
19 Entonces el ángel de Dios, que había estado delante de las tiendas de Israel, tomó su lugar a sus espaldas; y la columna de nube, moviéndose de delante de ellos, vino a descansar a sus espaldas:
And the messenger of God, who is going before the camp of Israel, journeyeth and goeth at their rear; and the pillar of the cloud journeyeth from their front, and standeth at their rear,
20 Y vino entre el ejército de Egipto y el ejército de Israel; y había una nube oscura entre ellos, y luz para Israel de noche y continuaron toda la noche; pero nunca se acercaron el uno al otro.
and cometh in between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, and the cloud and the darkness are, and he enlighteneth the night, and the one hath not drawn near unto the other all the night.
21 Y cuando la mano de Moisés se extendió sobre el mar, el SEÑOR con fuerte viento del oriente hizo retroceder el mar toda la noche, y las aguas se dividieron en dos, y el mar se convirtió en tierra seca.
And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and Jehovah causeth the sea to go on by a strong east wind all the night, and maketh the sea become dry ground, and the waters are cleaved,
22 Y los hijos de Israel atravesaron el mar en seco; y las aguas eran un muro a su derecha e izquierda.
and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea, on dry land, and the waters [are] to them a wall, on their right and on their left.
23 Entonces los egipcios los siguieron hasta el medio del mar, todos los caballos de Faraón y sus carruajes de guerra y su gente de a caballo.
And the Egyptians pursue, and go in after them (all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen) unto the midst of the sea,
24 Y en la vigilia de la mañana, el Señor, mirando a los ejércitos de los egipcios desde la columna de fuego y nube, envió problemas al ejército de los egipcios;
and it cometh to pass, in the morning watch, that Jehovah looketh unto the camp of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubleth the camp of the Egyptians,
25 Hicieron rígidas las ruedas de sus carros de guerra, y les costó trabajo guiarlos; y los egipcios dijeron: Huyamos de delante de la faz de Israel, porque él Señor pelea por ellos contra los egipcios.
and turneth aside the wheels of their chariots, and they lead them with difficulty, and the Egyptians say, 'Let us flee from the face of Israel, for Jehovah is fighting for them against the Egyptians.'
26 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Extiende tu mano sobre el mar, y las aguas volverán sobre los egipcios, sobre sus carros de guerra y sobre sus jinetes.
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Stretch out thy hand toward the sea, and the waters turn back on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.'
27 Y cuando la mano de Moisés se extendía sobre el mar, al amanecer volvía el mar, y se encontraban con los egipcios en su huida, y el Señor envió destrucción sobre los egipcios en medio del mar.
And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and the sea turneth back, at the turning of the morning, to its perennial flow, and the Egyptians are fleeing at its coming, and Jehovah shaketh off the Egyptians in the midst of the sea,
28 Y volvieron las aguas, y cubrieron los carros de guerra, y los jinetes, y todo el ejército de Faraón que los seguía en medio del mar; ninguno de ellos sobrevivió.
and the waters turn back, and cover the chariots and the horsemen, even all the force of Pharaoh, who are coming in after them into the sea — there hath not been left of them even one.
29 Pero los hijos de Israel atravesaron el mar caminando en tierra firme, y las aguas eran un muro a su derecha e izquierda.
And the sons of Israel have gone on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters [are] to them a wall, on their right and on their left;
30 Así que aquel día, el Señor libró a Israel de la mano de los egipcios; e Israel vio a los egipcios muertos en la orilla del mar.
and Jehovah saveth Israel in that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel seeth the Egyptians dead on the sea-shore,
31 E Israel vio la gran obra que el Señor había hecho contra los egipcios, y el temor de él Señor vino sobre el pueblo y tuvieron fe en el Señor y en su siervo Moisés.
and Israel seeth the great hand with which Jehovah hath wrought against the Egyptians, and the people fear Jehovah, and remain stedfast in Jehovah, and in Moses His servant.
