Ester 9
1 Ahora, a los trece días del duodécimo mes, que es el mes de Adar, cuando llegó el momento de que se pusiera en práctica la orden del rey, el mismo día en que los que odiaban a los judíos esperaban poder gobernar sobre ellos; aunque había ocurrido lo contrario, y los judíos gobernaron a sus enemigos;
And in the twelfth month — it [is] the month of Adar — on the thirteenth day of it, in which the word of the king, even his law, hath come to be done, in the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to rule over them, and it is turned that the Jews rule over those hating them —
2 En ese día, los judíos se reunieron en sus pueblos a través de todas las provincias del reino de Asuero, con el propósito de atacar a todos los que intentaban el mal contra ellos; y todos tenían que ceder ante ellos, por el temor a ellos había venido sobre todos los pueblos.
the Jews have been assembled in their cities, in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to put forth a hand on those seeking their evil, and no man hath stood in their presence, for their fear hath fallen on all the peoples.
3 Y todos los jefes, los capitanes, los gobernantes y los que hicieron los negocios del rey dieron apoyo a los judíos; porque el miedo a Mardoqueo había venido sobre ellos.
And all heads of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the governors, and those doing the work that the king hath, are lifting up the Jews, for a fear of Mordecai hath fallen upon them;
4 Porque Mardoqueo era poderoso en la casa del rey, y corrió la voz de su fama por todo el reino, porque el hombre Mardoqueo se hizo cada vez más poderoso.
for great [is] Mordecai in the house of the king, and his fame is going into all the provinces, for the man Mordecai is going on and becoming great.
5 Entonces los judíos vencieron a todos sus atacantes con la espada y con la muerte y la destrucción, e hicieron a sus enemigos todo lo que quisieron.
And the Jews smite among all their enemies — a smiting of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction — and do with those hating them according to their pleasure,
6 Y en Susa, los judíos mataron a quinientos hombres.
and in Shushan the palace have the Jews slain and destroyed five hundred men;
7 Mataron a Parsdata, Dalfon, Aspata,
and Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
8 Porata, Adalia, Aridata,
and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
9 Parmasta, Arisai, Aridai y Vaizata,
and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
10 Los diez hijos de Amán, hijo de Hamedata, el enemigo de los judíos; Pero no echaron mano a ninguno de sus bienes.
ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, adversary of the Jews, they have slain, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.
11 Ese día se dio al rey el número de los que habían muerto en la ciudad de Susa.
On that day hath come the number of the slain in Shushan the palace before the king,
12 Y el rey dijo a la reina Ester: Los judíos han matado a quinientos hombres en Susa, así como a los diez hijos de Amán: ¡qué más habran hecho en el resto del reino! Ahora cuál es tu deseo? porque te será dado; ¿Qué otra petición tienes? y será hecho.
and the king saith to Esther the queen, 'In Shushan the palace have the Jews slain and destroyed five hundred men, and the ten sons of Haman; in the rest of the provinces of the king what have they done? and what [is] thy petition? and it is given to thee; and what thy request again? and it is done.'
13 Entonces Ester dijo: Si es un placer del rey, que se dé autoridad a los judíos en Susa para que hagan mañana como se ha hecho hoy, y que se den órdenes para el ahorcamiento de los diez hijos de Amán.
And Esther saith, 'If to the king [it be] good, let it be given also to-morrow, to the Jews who [are] in Shushan, to do according to the law of to-day; and the ten sons of Haman they hang on the tree.'
14 Y el rey dijo que esto iba a hacerse, y la orden fue dada en Susa, y el ahorcamiento de los diez hijos de Amán fue efectuado.
And the king saith — 'to be done so;' and a law is given in Shushan, and the ten sons of Haman they have hanged.
15 Porque los judíos que estaban en Susa se reunieron de nuevo el día catorce del mes Adar y mataron a trescientos hombres en Susa. Pero no pusieron una mano sobre sus bienes.
And the Jews who [are] in Shushan are assembled also on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they slay in Shushan three hundred men, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.
16 Y los demás judíos de todas las provincias del reino se unieron, lucharon por sus vidas, obtuvieron la salvación de sus enemigos y mataron a setenta y cinco mil de ellos; Pero no pusieron mano a sus bienes.
And the rest of the Jews, who [are] in the provinces of the king, have been assembled, even to stand for their life, and to rest from their enemies, and to slay among those hating them five and seventy thousand, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand;
17 Esto hicieron el día trece del mes Adar; y el día catorce del mismo mes tomaron su descanso y lo convirtieron en un día de fiesta y alegría.
on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, even to rest on the fourteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.
18 Pero los judíos en Susa se reunieron el trece y el catorce día del mes; y en el decimoquinto día tomaron su descanso, y lo hicieron un día de fiesta y alegría.
And the Jews who [are] in Shushan have been assembled, on the thirteenth day of it, and on the fourteenth of it, even to rest on the fifteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.
19 Entonces, los lugares de los judíos del país que viven en pueblos sin murallas, hacen del decimocuarto día del mes Adar un día de fiesta y alegría y un buen día, un día para enviar ofrendas uno a otro.
Therefore the Jews of the villages, who are dwelling in cities of the villages, are making the fourteenth day of the month of Adar — joy and banquet, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
20 Y Mardoqueo envió cartas a todos los judíos en todas las provincias del reino de Asuero, cercanas y lejanas.
And Mordecai writeth these things, and sendeth letters unto all the Jews who [are] in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus, who are near and who are far off,
21 Ordenándoles que guarden el decimocuarto día del mes Adar y el decimoquinto día del mismo mes, todos los años.
to establish on them, to be keeping the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and the fifteenth day of it, in every year and year,
22 Como días en que los judíos descansaron de sus enemigos, y el mes que para ellos se convirtió de tristeza en alegría, y de llanto a gozo: y que debían guardarlos como días de fiesta y alegría, de enviar ofrendas unos a otros y cosas buenas a los pobres.
as days on which the Jews have rested from their enemies, and the month that hath been turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning to a good day, to make them days of banquet and of joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the needy.
23 Y los judíos dieron su palabra para continuar como lo habían estado haciendo y como Mardoqueo les había dado órdenes por escrito;
And the Jews have received that which they had begun to do, and that which Mordecai hath written unto them,
24 Porque Aman, el hijo de Hamedata de Agag, el que odia a todos los judíos, había hecho planes para su destrucción, intentando obtener una decisión de Pur es decir, de probabilidad con el fin de acabar con ellos y destruirlos;
because Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, adversary of all the Jews, had devised concerning the Jews to destroy them, and had caused to fall Pur — that [is] the lot — to crush them and to destroy them;
25 Pero cuando Ester se presentó ante el rey, dio órdenes por cartas que el malvado plan que había hecho contra los judíos debía volverse contra sí mismo; y que él y sus hijos iban a morir por ahorcamiento.
and in her coming in before the king, he said with the letter, 'Let his evil device that he devised against the Jews turn back upon his own head,' and they have hanged him and his sons on the tree,
26 Así que estos días fueron nombrados Purim, después del nombre de Pur. Y así, debido a las palabras de esta carta, y de lo que habían visto en relación con este negocio, y lo que les había tocado vivir.
therefore they have called these days Purim — by the name of the lot — therefore, because of all the words of this letter, and what they have seen concerning this, and what hath come unto them,
27 Los judíos establecieron una regla y se comprometieron, haciendo que su simiente y todos los que se unieron a ellos hicieran lo mismo, para que esté vigente para siempre, que mantendrían esos dos días, según lo ordenado en la carta, en el horario fijo de cada año;
the Jews have established and received upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all those joined unto them, and it doth not pass away, to be keeping these two days according to their writing, and according to their season, in every year and year;
28 Y que esos días debían guardarse en la memoria a través de cada generación y cada familia, en cada provincia del reino y en cada ciudad, para que nunca haya un momento en que estos días de Purim no se olvidarán entre los judíos, ni su memoria se extinguiera de su descendencia.
and these days are remembered and kept in every generation and generation, family and family, province and province, and city and city, and these days of Purim do not pass away from the midst of the Jews, and their memorial is not ended from their seed.
29 Entonces Ester la reina, hija de Abihail, y Mardoqueo, el judío, enviaron una segunda carta para confirmar su autoridad a la orden sobre Purim.
And Esther the queen, daughter of Abihail, writeth, and Mordecai the Jew, with all might, to establish this second letter of Purim,
30 Y envió cartas a todos los judíos en las ciento veintisiete provincias del reino de Asuero, con palabras de paz y verdad.
and he sendeth letters unto all the Jews, unto the seven and twenty and a hundred provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus — words of peace and truth —
31 Ordenando que se celebrará estos días de Purim en sus tiempos fijos, tal como lo había ordenado Mardoqueo Judío y Ester la reina, y de acuerdo con las reglas que ellos mismos habían establecido para ellos y su simiente, en conexión con su tiempo con ayuno y su clamor de ayuda.
to establish these days of Purim, in their seasons, as Mordecai the Jew hath established on them, and Esther the queen, and as they had established on themselves, and on their seed — matters of the fastings, and of their cry.
32 La orden dada por Ester confirmó la ley para celebrar él Purim; Y fue grabado en el libro.
And a saying of Esther hath established these matters of Purim, and it is written in the Book.
