Ester 3
1 Después de estas cosas, por orden del rey, Aman, hijo de Hamedata, Descendencia de Agag, lo promovió, le dio una posición de honor y un lugar más alto que todos los otros capitanes que estaban con él.
After these things did King Ahashuerosh promote Haman the sonne of Hammedatha the Agagite, and exalted him, and set his seate aboue all the princes that were with him.
2 Y todos los siervos del rey que estaban en la casa del rey bajaron a la tierra antes de Amán y le dieron honor, porque así el rey había dado órdenes. Pero Mardoqueo no bajó ante él ni le dio honor.
And all the Kings seruants that were at the Kings gate, bowed their knees, and reuerenced Haman: for the King had so commanded concerning him: but Mordecai bowed not the knee, neither did reuerence.
3 Entonces los siervos del rey que estaban en la casa del rey dijeron a Mardoqueo: ¿Por qué vas contra la orden del rey?
Then the Kings seruants which were at the Kings gate, said vnto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the Kings commandement?
4 Cuando le dijeron esto día tras día y él no prestó atención, dejaron que Hamán se enterara, para ver si se pasaba por alto el comportamiento de Mardoqueo, porque les había dicho que era judío.
And albeit they spake dayly vnto him, yet he would not heare them: therefore they tolde Haman, that they might see how Mordecais matters would stande: for he had tolde them, that he was a Iewe.
5 Y cuando Amán vio que Mardoqueo no se inclinaba delante de él y le daba honor, Amán se llenó de ira.
And when Haman sawe that Mordecai bowed not the knee vnto him, nor did reuerence vnto him, then Haman was full of wrath.
6 Pero no fue suficiente para él atacar sólo a Mardoqueo; porque le habían dejado claro quién era el pueblo de Mardoqueo; así que Amán se propuso acabar con todos los judíos, incluso con el pueblo de Mardoqueo, a través de todo el reino de Asuero.
Now he thought it too litle to lay hands onely on Mordecai: and because they had shewed him the people of Mordecai, Haman sought to destroy all the Iewes, that were throughout the whole kingdome of Ahashuerosh, euen the people of Mordecai.
7 En el primer mes, el mes Nisán, en el duodécimo año del rey Asuero, día a día y mes a mes siguieron buscando un signo, echando él Pur, es decir la suerte, ante Amán, hasta que la señal salió el día trece del duodécimo mes, el mes de Adar.
In the first moneth (that is the moneth Nisan) in the twelft yere of King Ahashuerosh, they cast Pur (that is a lot) before Haman, from day to day, and from moneth to moneth, vnto the twelft moneth, that is the moneth Adar.
8 Y Amán dijo al rey Asuero: Hay una nación que vive aquí y allá en pequeños grupos entre la gente en todas las divisiones de tu reino; sus leyes son diferentes de las de cualquier otra nación, y no guardan las leyes del rey por esta razón, no es correcto que el rey los deje seguir viviendo en su reino.
Then Haman said vnto King Ahashuerosh, There is a people scattered, and dispersed among the people in all the prouinces of thy kingdome, and their lawes are diuers from all people, and they doe not obserue the Kings lawes: therefore it is not the Kings profite to suffer them.
9 Si es un placer del rey, que se ponga por escrito una declaración que ordene su destrucción y daré a los responsables del negocio del rey, diez mil talentos de plata para el tesoro del rey.
If it please the King, let it be written that they may he destroyed, and I will pay ten thousand talents of siluer by the handes of them that haue the charge of this businesse to bring it into the Kings treasurie.
10 Y el rey tomó su anillo de su mano y se lo dio a Amán, el hijo de Hamedata, de Agag, el enemigo de los judíos.
Then the King tooke his ring from his hand and gaue it vnto Haman the sonne of Hammedatha the Agagite the Iewes aduersarie.
11 Y el rey dijo a Amán: El dinero es tuyo, y con él pueblo, para que hagas con ellos lo que te parezca correcto.
And the King sayde vnto Haman, Let the siluer be thine, and the people to doe with them as it pleaseth thee.
12 A los trece días del primer mes, se envió a los escribas del rey, y pusieron por escrito las órdenes de Amán a todos los capitanes del rey y a los gobernantes de cada provincia de su reino y a los jefes de cada pueblo, a cada provincia del reino en la escritura comúnmente utilizada allí, y para cada pueblo en el idioma que era suyo; Fue firmado en nombre del rey Asuero y sellado con el anillo del rey.
Then were the Kings scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first moneth, and there was written (according to all that Haman commanded) vnto the Kings officers, and to the captaines that were ouer euery prouince, and to the rulers of euery people, and to euery prouince, according to the writing thereof, and to euery people according to their language: in the name of King Ahashuerosh was it written, and sealed with the Kings ring.
13 Y por medio de mensajeros enviaron cartas a todas las divisiones del reino ordenando la muerte y destrucción de todos los judíos, jóvenes y viejos, niños pequeños y mujeres, el mismo día, incluso el día trece del doceavo mes, el mes Adar, y la toma de todos sus bienes por la fuerza.
And the letters were sent by postes into all the Kings prouinces, to roote out, to kill and to destroy all the Iewes, both yong and olde, children and women, in one day vpon the thirteenth day of the twelft moneth, (which is the moneth Adar) and to spoyle them as a pray.
14 Una copia de la escritura, que se haría pública en cada parte del reino, fue enviada a todos los pueblos, para que pudieran estar listos cuando llegara ese día.
The contents of the writing was, that there shoulde be giuen a commandement in all prouinces, and published vnto all people, that they should be ready against the same day.
15 Los corredores salieron rápidamente por orden del rey, y se hizo una declaración pública en Susa: y el rey y Amán tomaron vino juntos, pero la ciudad de Susa estaba conmovida.
And the postes compelled by the Kings commandement went forth, and the commandement was giuen in the palace at Shushan: and the King and Haman sate drinking, but the citie of Shushan was in perplexitie.
