Eclesiastés 11
1 Echa tu pan sobre las aguas; Porque después de un largo tiempo volverá a ti otra vez.
Cast thy bread upon the waters; for after many days thou shalt find it.
2 Da tu parte a siete o incluso a ocho, porque no tienes conocimiento del mal que vendrá sobre la tierra.
Give a portion to seven, yea, to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
3 Si las nubes están llenas de lluvia, la envían a la tierra; y si un árbol desciende hacia el sur, o hacia el norte, en cualquier lugar donde baje, allí se quedará.
When the clouds are full of rain, they empty upon the earth; and when a tree falleth to the south or the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.
4 El que mira el viento no tendrá la semilla plantada, y el que mira las nubes no segará.
He that watcheth the wind will not sow, and he that gazeth upon the clouds will not reap.
5 Como no tienes conocimiento del camino del viento ni del crecimiento de los huesos en el cuerpo de la mujer que está embarazada, tampoco tienes conocimiento de las obras de Dios que lo ha hecho todo.
As thou knowest not the way of the wind, nor how the bones are formed in the womb of her that is with child, so thou canst not know the work of God, who doeth all things.
6 Por la mañana pon tu semilla en la tierra, y hasta la tarde no dejes reposar tu mano; porque no está seguro de qué hará bien, esto o aquello, o si los dos serán igualmente buenos.
In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand! For thou knowest not whether this shall prosper, or that, or whether both of them shall be alike good.
7 En verdad, la luz es agradable y es bueno que los ojos vean el sol.
Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun.
8 Pero aunque la vida de un hombre sea larga y tenga gozo en todos sus años, tenga en cuenta los días oscuros, porque serán muchos en número. Lo que pueda venir no tiene ningún propósito.
Yea, though a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him think of the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.
9 Ten alegría joven, mientras que tú eres joven; y alégrese tu corazón en los días de tu juventud, y ve en los impulsos de tu corazón y en el deseo de tus ojos; pero ten la certeza de que por todas estas cosas Dios será tu juez.
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes! but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
10 Así quita el enojo de tu corazón y el mal de tu carne; Porque los primeros años y la juventud son vanidad.
Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy body! for childhood and youth are vanity.
