Deuteronomio 3

1 Luego tomamos el camino hacia Bashan: y Og, rey de Basán, salió contra nosotros con toda su gente y nos atacó en Edrei.

Then turned we and went up, the way of Bashan; and Og king of Bashan, came out to meet us, he, and all his people, to give battle at Edrei.

2 Y el Señor me dijo: No le tengas miedo, porque lo he entregado a él y a todo su pueblo y su tierra en tus manos; haz con él lo que hiciste con Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que gobernaba en Hesbón.

And Yahweh said unto me: Do not fear him, for into thy hand, have I delivered him and all his people and his land, —so then thou shalt do unto him, as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites who was dwelling in Heshbon.

3 Y él Señor nuestro Dios entregó a Og, rey de Basán, y a todo su pueblo en nuestras manos; y lo vencimos tan completamente que toda su gente llegó a su fin en la lucha.

Then did Yahweh our God deliver into our hand, Og also, king of Bashan and all his people, —so we smote him until there was not left remaining to him a survivor.

4 En ese momento tomamos todos sus pueblos; No había un solo pueblo de los sesenta pueblos, todo el país de Argob, el reino de Og en Basán, que no tomáramos.

And we captured all his cities, at that time, there was no fortress which we took not from them, —sixty cities all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5 Todos estos pueblos tenían altos muros que los rodeaban con puertas y cerraduras; Y además, tomamos un gran número de pueblos no amurallados.

All these, were fortified cities each with a high wall, folding gates and a bar, —besides country towns exceeding many.

6 Y los destruimos como hicimos a Sehón rey de Hesbón, cada pueblo junto con hombres, mujeres y niños.

And we devoted them to destruction, doing unto them as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, —devoting to destruction every city of males, the women, and the little ones.

7 Pero tomamos para nosotros todo el ganado y la riqueza almacenada de los pueblos.

But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, made we our prey.

8 En ese momento, tomamos su tierra de los dos reyes de los amorreos en el lado opuesto del Jordán, desde el valle del Arnón hasta el Monte Hermón;

Thus did we at that time take the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites (which was over the Jordan), —from the ravine of Arnon as far as Mount Hermon.

9 Por los sidonios, Hermón se llama Sirion y por los amorreos Senir.

Sidonians, call Hermon Sirion, —but, the Amorites, call it Senir.

10 Todas las ciudades de la tierra de la mesa y todas Galaad y Basán hasta Salecah y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán.

All the cities of the table-land, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, —unto Salecah, and Edrei, —cities of the kingdom of Og, in Bashan.

11 Porque Og, rey de Basán, fue el último de todos los Refaim; su cama estaba hecha de hierro; ¿no está en Rabba, en la tierra de los hijos de Amón? Tenía nueve codos de largo y cuatro codos de ancho, medido por el codo común.

For, only Og, king of Bashan was left remaining of the remnant of the giants, lo! his bedstead, was a bedstead of iron, is not, the same, in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? nine cubits, the length thereof and four cubits, the breadth thereof, by the fore-arm of a man.

12 Y esta tierra que tomamos en aquel momento, de Aroer por el valle del Arnón, y la mitad de la región montañosa de Galaad con sus ciudades, se la di a los Rubenitas y Gaditas.

And this land, took we in possession at that time, —from Aroer which is by the ravine of Arnon, and half the hill-country of Gilead and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites;

13 El resto de Galaad y todo Basán, el reino de Og, toda la tierra de Argob, junto con Basán, se la di a la media tribu de Manasés. Esta tierra se llama la tierra de los Refaim.

but the remainder of Gilead, and all Bashan the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh, —all the region of the Argob with all Bashan. The same, is called, A land of giants.

14 Jair, el hijo de Manasés, tomó toda la tierra de Argob, hasta el país de los Gesuritas y los Maacaitas, nombrandolo Basán, Havot-Jair por su nombre, como lo es hasta el día de hoy.

Jair, son of Manasseh, took all the region of Argob, as far as the boundary of the Geshurites, and the Maachathites, —and called them after his own name The Bashan of Havvoth-jair unto this day.

15 Y Galaad le di a Maquir.

And, unto Machir, gave I Gilead;

16 Y la tierra desde Galaad hasta el valle del Arnón, con el centro del valle como límite, hasta el río Jaboc, que es el límite del país de los hijos de Amón, se lo di a los rubenitas y los gaditas;

And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites, gave I—from Gilead even as far as the ravine of Arnon, the middle of the ravine and boundary, —even as far as the Jabbok ravine, the boundary of the sons of Ammon;

17 Así como el Arabá, con el río Jordán como su límite, desde Cineret hasta el Mar Salado, bajo las laderas de Pisga al este.

the Waste Plain also and the Jordan and boundary, —from Chinnereth, even as far as the sea of the Waste Plain the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah, on the east.

18 En ese momento te di órdenes, diciendo: El Señor les ha dado esta tierra para su herencia: todos los hombres de guerra deben ir armados delante de tus hermanos, los hijos de Israel.

So I commanded you, at that time saying, —Yahweh your God hath given unto you this land to possess it, armed, shall ye pass over before your brethren the sons of Israel all the sons of valour,

19 Pero tus esposas, tus pequeños y tu ganado porque está claro que tienes mucho ganado pueden seguir viviendo en los pueblos que les he dado;

Only, your wives and your little ones and your cattle—I know that ye have much cattle—shall abide in your cities which I have given unto you;

20 Hasta que el Señor haya dado descanso a tus hermanos en cuanto a ti, y hasta que hayan tomado para sí la tierra que el Señor tu Dios les está dando al otro lado del Jordán: entonces puedes regresar, cada hombre volverá, a la herencia que les he dado.

until that Yahweh shall give rest unto your brethren, as well as you, so shall, they too, possess the land which, Yahweh your God, is giving unto them, over the Jordan, —then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given unto you.

21 Y di órdenes a Josué en ese momento, diciendo: Tus ojos han visto lo que el Señor tu Dios ha hecho a estos dos reyes: así hará el Señor a todos los reinos por los cuales pasarás tú.

Joshua also, commanded I, at that time saying, —Thine are the eyes, that have seen all that Yahweh your God hath done unto these two kings, thus, will Yahweh do unto all the kingdoms whereunto thou, art passing over:

22 No temas a ellos, porque el Señor tu Dios luchará por ti.

ye shall not fear them, —for, Yahweh your God, he, it is that is fighting for you.

23 Y en ese momento le pedí al Señor, diciendo:

Then sought I Yahweh at that time, for a favour saying:

24 Oh Señor Dios, ahora tienes por primera vez que tu siervo vea tu gran poder y la fuerza de tu mano; porque ¿qué dios hay en el cielo o en la tierra capaz de hacer tan grandes obras y tales actos de poder?

My Lord Yahweh, thou thyself, hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy firm hand, —as to which, what GOD is there, in the heavens or in the earth, that can do according to thy doings, and according to thy mighty deeds?

25 Déjame repasar, oh Señor, y ver la buena tierra al otro lado del Jordán, y esa hermosa región montañosa, incluso el Líbano.

Let me pass over, I pray thee that I may see the good land that is over the Jordan, —this good mountain, and the Lebanon.

26 Pero el Señor se enojó conmigo por ustedes y no quiso escuchar mi oración; y el Señor me dijo: Basta, no digas más sobre esto.

But Yahweh had been provoked with me for your sakes, and hearkened not unto me, —and Yahweh said unto me, Enough for thee! do not add a word unto me further in this matter.

27 Sube a la cima de Pisga, y alza tus ojos hacia el oeste y el norte, hacia el sur y el este, ve la tierra con tus ojos, porque no debes pasar por el Jordán.

Ascend the top of the Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes—westward, and northward and southward and eastward—and see with thine own eyes, —for thou shalt not pass over this Jordan.

28 Pero dale mis órdenes a Josué, anímalo y dale valor; porque él debe pasar por el Jordán a la cabeza de este pueblo, y él les haga tomar posesión esta tierra que verás.

But command thou Joshua and confirm him and embolden him, —for, he, shall pass over before this people, and, he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

29 Así que esperábamos en el valle frente a Bet-peor.

So we abode in the valley, over against Beth-peor.
