Deuteronomio 15
1 Al final de cada siete años debe haber un perdón general de la deuda.
At the end of every seven years thou shall make a release.
2 Así es como debe hacerse: todo acreedor que haya prestado algo a su prójimo, le perdonará lo que le haya prestado; no debe exigir a su vecino, su paisano, que le pague; porque un perdón general ha sido ordenado por el Señor.
And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor shall release that which he has lent to his neighbor. He shall not exact it from his neighbor and his brother, because Jehovah's release has been proclaimed.
3 Un hombre de otra nación es obligado a pagar su deuda, pero si tu hermano tiene algo tuyo, déjalo;
From a foreigner thou may exact it, but whatever of thine is with thy brother, thy hand shall release.
4 De esta manera no habrá pobres entre ustedes; porque el Señor ciertamente les dará su bendición en la tierra que el Señor su Dios les da para su herencia;
However there shall be no poor with thee (for Jehovah will surely bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee for an inheritance to possess it),
5 Si solo escuchan la voz del Señor su Dios, y cuidan de cumplir todas estas órdenes que les doy hoy.
if only thou diligently hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all this commandment which I command thee this day.
6 Porque el Señor su Dios les dará su bendición como él ha dicho: permitirán que otras naciones usen su dinero, pero ustedes no pedirán prestado; serán gobernante de varias naciones, pero no serán gobernados por ellas.
For Jehovah thy God will bless thee as he promised thee, and thou shall lend to many nations, but thou shall not borrow, and thou shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over thee.
7 Si en alguno de sus pueblos en la tierra que el Señor su Dios les está dando, hay un hombre pobre, uno de sus compatriotas, no dejen que su corazón se endurezca no le nieguen la ayuda a tu compatriota necesitado;
If there be with thee a poor man, one of thy brothers, within any of thy gates in thy land which Jehovah thy God gives thee, thou shall not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy poor brother,
8 Pero deja que tu mano sea extendida para darle de lo que necesite.
but thou shall surely open thy hand to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need which he wants.
9 Y observa que no haya ningún pensamiento malo en tu corazón que te mueva a decirte a ti mismo: El séptimo año, el año del perdón está cerca; y mirando tan fríamente a tu pobre paisano, no le das nada; Y él clamará al Señor contra ti, y será juzgado como pecado en ti.
Beware that there not be a base thought in thy heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand, and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou give him nothing, and he cry to Jehovah against thee, and it be sin to thee.
10 Pero es correcto que le des, sin pena de corazón: por eso, la bendición del Señor tu Dios estará en todo tu trabajo y en todo aquello a lo que pones tu mano.
Thou shall surely give him, and thy heart shall not be grieved when thou give to him, because for this thing Jehovah thy God will bless thee in all thy work, and in all that thou put thy hand to.
11 Porque nunca habrá un tiempo en que no haya pobres en la tierra; y así te doy órdenes, deja que tu mano esté abierta a tus compatriotas, a los pobres y necesitados en tu tierra.
For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shall surely open thy hand to thy brother, to thy needy, and to thy poor, in thy land.
12 Si uno de tus compatriotas, un hombre o una mujer hebreos, se convierte en tu servidor por un precio y trabaja para ti seis años, en el séptimo año, déjalo en libertad.
If thy brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to thee, and serves thee six years, then in the seventh year thou shall let him go free from thee.
13 Y cuando lo liberes, no lo dejes ir sin nada en sus manos:
And when thou let him go free from thee, thou shall not let him go empty.
14 Pero dale gratuitamente de tu rebaño, de tu grano y de tu vino: en la medida de la riqueza que el Señor tu Dios te ha dado, debes compartirlo.
Thou shall furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy threshing-floor, and out of thy winepress. As Jehovah thy God has blessed thee thou shall give to him.
15 Y ten en cuenta que tú mismo fuiste siervo en la tierra de Egipto, y el Señor tu Dios te hizo libre. por eso te doy esta orden hoy.
And thou shall remember that thou were a bondman in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah thy God redeemed thee. Therefore I command thee this thing today.
16 Pero si él te dice, no tengo ningún deseo de alejarme de ti; porque tú y tu familia son muy queridos para él y él es feliz contigo;
And it shall be, if he says to thee, I will not go out from thee, because he loves thee and thy house, because he is well with thee,
17 Luego toma un instrumento afilado, arrimándolo a la puerta, agujera su oreja en la puerta, y él será tu sirviente para siempre. Y tú puedes hacer lo mismo con tu sirvienta.
then thou shall take an awl, and thrust it through his ear to the door, and he shall be thy servant forever. And also to thy maid-servant thou shall do likewise.
18 Que no te parezca difícil que tengas que despedirlo; porque él ha estado trabajando para ti durante seis años, que es el doble del tiempo regular para un sirviente: y la bendición del Señor tu Dios estará sobre ti en todo lo que hagas.
It shall not seem hard to thee when thou let him go free from thee, for he has been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years. And Jehovah thy God will bless thee in all that thou do.
19 Todos los primeros machos que nacen de tus vacas o de tus ovejas deben ser santos para el Señor tu Dios: el primer nacimiento de tu buey no debe usarse para el trabajo, la lana de tu primer cordero no es para ser cortado.
All the firstling males that are born of thy herd and of thy flock thou shall sanctify to Jehovah thy God. Thou shall do no work with the firstling of thy herd, nor shear the firstling of thy flock.
20 Pero año tras año, ustedes y toda su casa deben comer ante el Señor, en el lugar que él haya escogido.
Thou shall eat it before Jehovah thy God year by year in the place which Jehovah shall choose, thou and thy household.
21 Pero si tiene algún defecto, si está ciego o tiene las piernas dañadas, o si hay algo malo en ello, no se le ofrezca al Señor su Dios.
And if it has any blemish, as lame or blind, any ill blemish whatever, thou shall not sacrifice it to Jehovah thy God.
22 Puede ser usado como alimento en sus casas: lo impuro y lo limpio pueden quitarlo, como cuando se come la gacela y el ciervo.
Thou shall eat it within thy gates. The unclean man and the clean man alike, as the gazelle, and as the hart.
23 Pero no deben comer su sangre como alimento, sino que se derrame sobre la tierra como el agua.
Only thou shall not eat the blood of it. Thou shall pour it out upon the ground as water.
