Daniel 6
1 Darío estaba complacido de poner sobre el reino a ciento veinte capitanes, que iban a estar por todo el reino;
It pleased Darius to set ouer the kingdome an hundreth and twentie gouernours, which should be ouer the whole kingdome,
2 Y sobre ellos había tres gobernantes principales, de los cuales Daniel era uno; y los capitanes debían ser responsables ante los principales gobernantes, para que el rey no sufriera ninguna pérdida.
And ouer these, three rulers (of whome Daniel was one) that the gouernours might giue accompts vnto them, and the King should haue no domage.
3 Entonces este Daniel hizo su trabajo mejor que los jefes principales y los capitanes, porque había un espíritu extraordinario en él; y era el propósito del rey ponerlo sobre todo el reino.
Now this Daniel was preferred aboue the rulers and gouernours, because the spirit was excellent in him, and the King thought to set him ouer the whole realme.
4 Entonces los principales gobernantes y los capitanes estaban buscando alguna causa para poner a Daniel en el mal en relación con el reino, pero no pudieron presentar ninguna mala acción o error en su contra; porque era fiel, y no se veía ningún error o falta en él.
Wherefore the rulers and gouernours sought an occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdome: but they could finde none occasion nor fault: for he was so faithfull that there was no blame nor fault found in him.
5 Entonces estos hombres dijeron: Solo tendremos una razón para atacar a Daniel en relación con la ley de su Dios.
Then sayd these men, We shall not finde an occasion against this Daniel, except we finde it against him concerning the Law of his God.
6 Entonces estos jefes principales y los capitanes vinieron al rey y le dijeron: ¡Oh, rey Darío! Ten vida para siempre.
Therefore the rulers and these gouernours went together to the King, and sayde thus vnto him, King Darius, liue for euer.
7 Todos los principales gobernantes del reino, los jefes y los capitanes, los sabios y los gobernantes, han tomado la decisión común de poner en vigencia una ley que tenga la autoridad del rey, y de dar una orden firme, quienquiera que haga cualquier pedido a cualquier dios u hombre, pero solo a ti, oh rey, durante treinta días, él que no obedezca debe ser metido en el hoyo de los leones.
All the rulers of thy kingdome, the officers and gouernours, the counsellers, and dukes haue consulted together to make a decree for the King and to establish a statute, that whosoeuer shall aske a petition of any god or man for thirtie dayes saue of thee, O King, he shalbe cast into the denne of lyons.
8 Ahora, oh Rey, pon en vigencia la orden, firmando la escritura para que no pueda ser cambiada, como la ley de los medos y los persas para que no pueda ser cambiada.
Nowe, O King, confirme the decree, and seale the writing, that it be not changed according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
9 Por esta razón, el rey Darío puso su nombre en la escritura y la orden.
Wherefore King Darius sealed the writing and the decree.
10 Y Daniel, al enterarse de que la escritura había sido firmada, entró en su casa; ahora tenía ventanas en su habitación en el techo que se abría en dirección a Jerusalén; y tres veces al día se arrodilló en oración y alabanza ante su Dios, como lo había hecho antes.
Now when Daniel vnderstood that he had sealed the writing, hee went into his house, and his window being open in his chamber toward Ierusalem, he kneeled vpon his knees three times a day, and prayed and praysed his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Entonces estos hombres estaban mirando y vieron a Daniel haciendo oraciones y pidiendo gracia ante su Dios.
Then these men assembled, and founde Daniel praying, and making supplication vnto his God.
12 Luego se acercaron al rey y le dijeron: ¡Oh, rey! ¿No has puesto tu nombre en una orden que cualquier hombre que haga una petición a cualquier dios u hombre, si no es a ti, oh rey, durante treinta días, debe ser puesto en el hoyo de los leones? El rey respondió y dijo: La ley de los medos y los persas arregla el asunto, lo cual no puede ser cambiada.
So they came and, spake vnto the King concerning the Kings decree, Hast thou not sealed the decree, that euery man that shall make a request to any god or man within thirtie dayes, saue to thee, O King, shall be cast into the denne of lyons? The King answered, and sayd, The thing is true, according to the Lawe of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 Entonces respondieron y dijeron al rey, Daniel, uno de los prisioneros de Judá, no te respeta, oh Rey, ni a la orden firmada por ti, pero tres veces al día hace su oración a Dios.
Then answered they, and sayd vnto the King, This Daniel which is of the children of the captiuitie of Iudah, regardeth not thee, O King, nor the decree, that thou hast sealed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
14 Cuando esto llegó a oídos del rey, le pesó mucho, y su corazón estaba decidido a mantener a Daniel a salvo, y hasta la puesta del sol estaba haciendo todo lo que estaba en su poder para liberarlo.
When the King heard these wordes, hee was sore displeased with himselfe, and set his heart on Daniel, to deliuer him: and he laboured till the sunne went downe, to deliuer him.
15 Entonces estos hombres dijeron al rey: Asegúrate, oh Rey, de que por la ley de los medos y los persas no se pueda cambiar ningún orden o ley que el rey haya puesto en vigor.
Then these men assembled vnto the King, and sayde vnto ye King, Vnderstand, O King, that the lawe of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree nor statute which the King confirmeth, may be altered.
16 Entonces el rey dio la orden, y tomaron a Daniel y lo metieron en el hoyo de los leones. El rey respondió y le dijo a Daniel: Tu Dios, cuyo siervo eres en todo momento, te mantendrá a salvo.
Then the King commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the denne of lyons: now the King spake, and said vnto Daniel, Thy God, whome thou alway seruest, euen he will deliuer thee.
17 Luego tomaron una piedra y la pusieron sobre la boca del hoyo, y fue estampada con el sello del rey y con el sello de los señores, para que la decisión sobre Daniel no se cambiara.
And a stone was brought, and layed vpon the mouth of the denne, and the King sealed it with his owne signet, and with the signet of his princes, that the purpose might not be changed, concerning Daniel.
18 Entonces el rey fue a su gran casa, y no tomó comida esa noche, y tampoco trajeron instrumentos musicales delante de él, y su sueño se le fue.
Then the King went vnto his palace, and remained fasting, neither were the instruments of musike brought before him, and his sleepe went from him.
19 Muy temprano en la mañana, el rey se levantó y fue rápidamente al hoyo de los leones.
Then the King arose early in the morning, and went in all haste vnto the denne of lyons.
20 Y cuando se acercó al agujero donde estaba Daniel, lanzó un fuerte grito de dolor; El rey respondió y le dijo a Daniel: Oh Daniel, siervo del Dios viviente, ¿es tu Dios, de quien eres siervo en todo momento, capaz de mantenerte a salvo de los leones?
And when he came to the denne, he cryed with a lamentable voyce vnto Daniel: and the King spake, and saide to Daniel, O Daniel, the seruant of ye liuing God, is not thy God (whom thou alway seruest) able to deliuer thee from the lyons?
21 Entonces Daniel dijo al rey: Rey, ten vida para siempre.
Then saide Daniel vnto the King, O King, liue for euer.
22 Mi Dios ha enviado a su ángel para mantener la boca cerrada de los leones, y no me han hecho daño; porque se me vio sin pecado delante de él; y además, ante ti, oh rey, no he hecho nada malo.
My God hath sent his Angel and hath shut the lyons mouthes, that they haue not hurt mee: for my iustice was founde out before him: and vnto thee, O King, I haue done no hurt.
23 Entonces el rey se alegró mucho y les ordenó sacar a Daniel del hoyo. Entonces sacaron a Daniel del hoyo y lo vieron intacto, porque tenía fe en su Dios.
Then was the King exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel out of the denne: so Daniel was brought out of the denne, and no maner of hurt was found vpon him, because he beleeued in his God.
24 Y por orden del rey, tomaron a aquellos hombres que habían dicho mal contra Daniel, y los metieron en el hoyo de los leones, con sus esposas y sus hijos; y no habían llegado al piso del hoyo antes de que los leones los mataran, los atacó y les rompieron todos los huesos.
And by the commandement of the King these me which had accused Daniel, were brought, and were cast into the denne of lions, euen they, their children, and their wiues: and the lyons had the mastry of them, and brake all their bones a pieces, or euer they came at the groud of the denne.
25 Entonces el rey Darío envió una carta a todos los pueblos, naciones e idiomas que vivían en toda la tierra: Que se incremente la paz.
Afterwarde King Darius wrote, Vnto all people, nations and languages, that dwel in all the world: Peace be multiplied vnto you.
26 Es mi orden que en todo el reino del cual soy gobernante, los hombres se estremecerán de miedo ante el Dios de Daniel: porque él es el Dios vivo, inmutable para siempre, y su reino es uno que nunca llegue a la destrucción, su gobierno continuará hasta el final.
I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdome, men tremble and feare before the God of Daniel: for he is the liuing God, and remayneth for euer: and his kingdome shall not perish, and his dominion shalbe euerlasting.
27 Él da salvación y libera a los hombres del peligro, y hace señales y maravillas en el cielo y la tierra, que ha mantenido a Daniel a salvo del poder de los leones.
Hee rescueth and deliuereth, and hee worketh signes and wonders in heauen and in earth, who hath deliuered Daniel from the power of the lyons.
28 Así que a este Daniel le fue bien en el reino de Darío y en el reino de Ciro, el persa.
So this Daniel prospered in the reigne of Darius and in the reigne of Cyrus of Persia.
