Daniel 3
1 Nabucodonosor, el rey, hizo una imagen de oro, sesenta codos de alto y seis codos de ancho; la levantó en el valle de Dura, en la tierra de Babilonia.
King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, the height of which was sixty cubits, and the breadth of which was six cubits: he set it up in the valley of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
2 Y el rey Nabucodonosor envió a reunir a todos los capitanes, los jefes, los gobernantes, los sabios, los poseedores de dinero público, los jueces, los supervisores y todos los gobernantes de las divisiones del país, a ven a ver la presentación de la imagen que Nabucodonosor el rey había puesto.
And king Nebuchadnezzar sent to assemble [his] lieutenants, the superintendents, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, those learned in the law, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which king Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
3 Entonces los capitanes, los jefes, los gobernantes, los sabios, los custodios del dinero público, los jueces, los supervisores y todos los gobernantes de las divisiones del país, se reunieron para ver la dedicación de la imagen que Nabucodonosor el rey había puesto; y tomaron su lugar ante la imagen que Nabucodonosor había puesto.
Thereupon were assembled the lieutenants, the superintendents, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, those learned in the law, and all the rulers of the provinces unto the dedication of the image that king Nebuchadnezzar had set up; and they stood opposite to the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
4 Entonces uno de los pregoneros del rey dijo en voz alta: A ustedes se les da la orden, oh pueblos, naciones y lenguas.
Then a herald called out with a loud voice, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
5 Que cuando el sonido del cuerno, la pipa, el arpa, el trigón, el salterio, la gaita y todo tipo de instrumentos lleguen a tus oídos, debes caer de bruces ante la imagen de oro que Nabucodonosor el rey ha construido.
That at the time when ye do hear the sound of the cornet, flute, guitar, harp, psaltery, bagpipe, and all kinds of music, ye shall fall down and bow yourselves to the golden image which king Nebuchadnezzar hath set up:
6 Y cualquiera que no se postrare y adore, esa misma hora será puesto en un horno de fuego ardiente.
And whoso doth not fall down and bow himself shall in the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
7 Entonces, en ese momento, toda la gente, cuando el sonido del cuerno, la pipa, el arpa, el trigón, el salterio y todo tipo de instrumentos, llegaron a sus oídos, se postraron en adoración ante la imagen de oro que Nabucodonosor el rey había puesto.
Therefore at the same time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, guitar, harp, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the languages fell down bowing themselves to the golden image which king Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
8 En ese momento, ciertos caldeos se acercaron e hicieron una declaración contra los judíos.
Therefore at the same time certain Chaldean men came near, and accused the Jews treacherously.
9 Respondieron y le dijeron a Nabucodonosor rey, oh Rey, vive para siempre.
They commenced and said to king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
10 Tú, oh Rey, has dado la orden de que todo hombre, cuando el sonido de la bocina, la pipa, el arpa, el trigón, el salterio, la gaita y todo tipo de instrumentos, llegue a sus oídos, postre su rostro en adoración ante la imagen del oro:
Thou, O king, hadst made a decree, that every man that should hear the sound of the cornet, flute, guitar, harp, psaltery, and bagpipe, and all kinds of music, should fall down and bow himself to the golden image;
11 Y cualquiera que no se postre y adore será puesto en horno de fuego ardiente.
And that whoso should not fall down and bow himself should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
12 Hay ciertos judíos a quienes has puesto sobre los negocios de la tierra de Babilonia, Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego; Estos hombres no te han prestado atención, oh Rey; no son siervos de tus dioses ni adoradores de la imagen de oro que has puesto.
There are certain Jewish men whom thou hast appointed over the public service of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego: these men, O king, have not paid any regard to thee; thy god they do not worship, and to the golden image which thou hast set up they do not bow themselves.
13 Entonces Nabucodonosor, en su ira y pasión, dio orden de traer a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego. Luego hicieron que estos hombres entraran delante del rey.
Then ordered Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego. Then were these men brought before the king.
14 Nabucodonosor respondió y les dijo: ¿Es verdad, Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, que no son siervos de mi dios ni adoran la imagen de oro que he puesto?
Nebuchadnezzar commenced and said unto them, Is it out of disrespect, O Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego? My god ye do not worship, and to the golden image which I have set up ye do not bow yourselves?
15 Ahora, si están listos, al escuchar el sonido de la bocina, la pipa, el arpa, el trigón, el salterio, la gaita y todo tipo de instrumentos, se postrarán en sus rostros en adoración ante la imagen que hice, está bien: pero si no rindes culto, esa misma hora serás puesto en un horno de fuego ardiente; ¿Y qué dios hay que pueda sacarte de mis manos?
Now then if ye be ready at the time when ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, guitar, psaltery, and bagpipe, and all kinds of music, to fall down and bow yourselves to the image which I have made, [well]; but if ye bow yourselves not, ye shall be cast in the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace: and who is the God that can deliver you out of my hand?
16 Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, respondieron al rey Nabucodonosor, dijeron: No es necesario que le demos una respuesta a esta pregunta.
Then answered Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer thee a word in this matter.
17 Si nuestro Dios, cuyos sirvientes somos, puede mantenernos a salvo del horno de fuego ardiente, y de tus manos, oh Rey, nos mantendrá a salvo.
Behold, there is our God whom we worship, he is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace: and out of thy hand, O king, will he deliver us.
18 Pero si no, asegúrate, oh Rey, de que no seremos siervos de tus dioses, ni daremos culto a la imagen de oro que has puesto.
But if not, then be it known unto thee, O king, that thy god will we not worship, and to the golden image which; thou hast set up will we not bow ourselves.
19 Entonces Nabucodonosor se llenó de ira, y la forma de su rostro cambió contra Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego: y dio órdenes de que el fuego se calentara siete veces más de lo que generalmente se calentaba.
Then was Nebuchadnezzar filled with fury, and the form of his countenance was changed because of Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego; [and] he commenced and ordered that they should heat the furnace thoroughly seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
20 Y dio órdenes a ciertos hombres fuertes de su ejército para que pusieran cuerdas en Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego y las pusieran en el horno de fuego ardiente.
And he ordered the mightiest men in strength that were in his army, to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, [and] to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Entonces a estos hombres les pusieron cuerdas alrededor de ellos como estaban, con sus abrigos, sus pantalones, sus turbantes y su ropa, y fueron arrojados al horno de fuego ardiente.
Then were these men bound in their mantles, their under-garments, and their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Y como la orden del rey no debía ser puesta a un lado, y el calor del fuego era tan intenso, los hombres que tomaron Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego fueron quemados hasta morir por la llama del fuego.
Now, because the king's command was so urgent, and the furnace exceedingly heated, the flame of the fire slew those men that carried up Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego.
23 Y estos tres hombres, Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, con las cuerdas alrededor de ellos, descendieron al fuego ardiente y llameante.
And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor, lleno de temor y asombro, se levantó rápidamente y dijo a sus sabios: ¿No pusimos tres hombres en cuerdas al fuego? Y respondieron y le dijeron al rey: Verdadero, oh Rey.
Then was king Nebuchadnezzar astonished, and he rose up in haste, [and] commenced, and said unto his counsellors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, Certainly, O king.
25 Respondió y dijo: ¡Mira! Veo a cuatro hombres sueltos, caminando en medio del fuego, y no están quemados; y la forma del cuarto es como un hijo de los dioses.
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and there is no injury on them; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.
26 Entonces Nabucodonosor se acercó a la puerta del horno de fuego ardiente; respondió y dijo: Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, siervos del Dios Altísimo, salgan y vengan aquí. Entonces Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego salieron del fuego.
Then came Nebuchadnezzar near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, commenced, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, step forth, and come hither. Then stepped Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego forth out of the midst of the fire.
27 Y los capitanes, los jefes y los gobernantes, y los sabios del rey que se habían reunido, vieron a estos hombres, sobre cuyos cuerpos el fuego no tenía poder, y ni un pelo de sus cabezas fue quemado, ni su vestimenta olía a fuego sobre ellos.
And the lieutenants, superintendents, and governors, and the king's counsellors, being assembled together, saw these men, over whose bodies the fire had had no power, and the hair of whose head was not singed, whose mantles were not changed, and on whom there was not come the smell of fire.
28 Nabucodonosor respondió y dijo: Alabado sea el Dios de Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, que envió a su ángel y mantuvo seguros a sus siervos que tenían fe en él y que pusieron la palabra del rey a un lado. y entregaron sus cuerpos al fuego, para que no pudieran ser siervos o adoradores de ningún otro dios sino de su Dios.
Then commenced Nebuchadnezzar, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that had trusted in him, and had transgressed the king's word, and yielded up their bodies, that they might not worship no bow themselves to any god, except their own God.
29 Y es mi decisión que cualquier pueblo, nación o lengua que diga mal contra el Dios de Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, será cortado en pedazos y sus casas serán destruidas; porque no hay otro dios que sea capaz de dar salvación como esta.
Therefore do I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, that may speak any thing disrespectful against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be changed into a dunghill; because there is no other God that can deliver like this one.
30 Entonces el rey dio a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego les dio autoridad aún mayor en la tierra de Babilonia.
Then did the king promote Shadrach, Meshach, and 'Abed-nego, in the province of Babylon.
