Colosenses 2
1 Porque quiero que sepan del gran conflicto que tengo por ustedes y para aquellos en Laodicea, y por todos los que no han visto mi rostro en la carne;
For I would have you know how great a contest I am waging for you and the brethren in Laodicea, and for all who have never seen my face.
2 Para que sus corazones se consuelen, y para que se reúnan en amor, lleguen a la plenitud del conocimiento cierto del secreto de Dios, Cristo mismo,
May their hearts be comforted! May they be knit together in love! May they gain in all its riches the full assurance of their understanding! May they come to a perfect knowledge of the secret truth of God, which is Christ himself.
3 En quienes están todos los depósitos secretos de sabiduría y conocimiento.
In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge!
4 Digo esto para que nadie los engañe con palabras persuasivas.
And this I say, lest any one should mislead you with enticing words.
5 Porque aunque no estoy presente en la carne, aún estoy con ustedes en espíritu, viendo con gozo su orden y su fe inmutable en Cristo.
For though I am absent from you in body, I am with you in spirit, happy to note your discipline and the solid front of your faith in Christ.
6 Que ha llegado a ustedes, así como en todo el mundo está dando fruto constantemente y creciendo, así lo ha estado haciendo también entre ustedes, desde él día que oyeron y comprendieron la gracia De Dios en verdad.
As then you have received Jesus Christ, your Lord, in him live your lives;
7 Arraigados y unidos en él, fuertes en la fe que la enseñanza les dio, alabando a Dios en todo momento.
since you are rooted in him, and in him continually built up. Be firmly established in the faith as you were taught it, and continually abound in it with thanksgiving.
8 Cuídate de que nadie los engañe, por la sabiduría y el engaño del hombre, siguiendo las creencias de los hombres y las teorías del mundo, y no según Cristo:
Take care lest any man drag you away captive by his philosophy which is a vain deceit, following the traditions of men and the world’s crude notions, and not Christ.
9 Porque en Cristo toda la plenitud del ser de Dios tiene una forma viviente,
For it is in Christ that all the fullness of deity dwells bodily,
10 Y ustedes están completos en él, porque están unidos a Cristo que es la cabeza de todos los seres espirituales que tienen poder y autoridad:
and in him you have your fulness, and he is the Lord of all the principalities and powers.
11 En el cual tuviste una circuncisión no hecha con manos, en la posposición del cuerpo de la carne, sino con la que consiste en ser librados de la naturaleza pecadora, en la circuncisión de Cristo;
In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands; even in putting off your sensual nature in Christ’s own circumcision,
12 Habiendo sido muertos con él en el bautismo, con el cual resucitaron con él, por la fe en la obra de Dios, que lo hizo volver de entre los muertos.
when you were buried with him in baptism. In baptism also you were raised with him, through your faith in the energy of that God who raised him from the dead.
13 Y ustedes, estaban muertos espiritualmente por sus pecados, en otro tiempo, y por no haber sido circuncidados; él dio vida juntamente con él, y el perdón de todos nuestros pecados;
And you also, at one time dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sensual nature, he has made alive together with himself. For he forgave us all our transgressions,
14 Habiendo puesto fin a la letra de la ley que estaba contra nosotros, que nos obligaba con sus requisitos legales, clavándola en la cruz;
blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that stood against us and was hostile to us, and took it out of our way, nailing it to his cross.
15 Por medio de Cristo Dios venció a los seres espirituales que tienen poder y autoridad, y los humilló públicamente llevándolos como prisioneros en su desfile victorioso.
Principalities and powers he disarmed, and openly displayed them as his trophies, when he triumphed over them in the cross.
16 Por lo cual, nadie los juzgue en lo que se refiere a comida, bebida o fiesta, ni a lunas nuevas, ni a sábados;
Therefore do not permit any one to sit in judgment on you in regard to what you may eat or drink, or in regard to feast-days or new moons or sabbaths.
17 Porque esto es solo la sombra de lo que ha de venir; pero el cuerpo es de Cristo.
These were a shadow of things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
18 Que nadie les quite su recompensa deleitándose en la humildad falsa de sí mismo, y adorando a los ángeles; basándose en las cosas que ha visto, siendo envanecido sin causa en su mente carnal,
Let no man at his will defraud you of your prize through his false humility and worship of the angels, taking his stand on the visions he has seen, and vainly puffed up by his material mind;
19 Y no unidos a la Cabeza, de quien todo el cuerpo, dotado de fuerza y mantenido unido a través de sus coyunturas y ligamentos, tiene su crecimiento conforme al plan de Dios.
instead of keeping connection with the Head from the whole body draws nourishment for all its needs by the joints which bind it; and is knit together, and grows with a divine growth.
20 Si fuiste hecho libre, por tu muerte con Cristo, de las reglas del mundo, ¿por qué te pones bajo la autoridad de las órdenes?
If you died with Christ to the world’s rudimentary notions, why, as if you still lived in the world, do you submit yourselves to dogmatisms found on teachings and doctrines of men -
21 Que dicen que no puedes tocar, no comas aquello o tomes eso en tus manos,
such as "Do not handle this," "You must not taste that," "Do not touch this" -
22 (Reglas que terminan con su uso) después de las órdenes y la enseñanza de los hombres?
all things which are intended to perish in the using?
23 Estas cosas parecen tener una especie de sabiduría en la adoración y culto voluntario, humildad, y ser cruel con el cuerpo, pero no tienen valor alguno contra los apetitos de la carne.
For these precepts, although they have a show of wisdom with their self-imposed devotions and fastings and bodily austerities, are of no real value against the indulgence of the carnal appetites.
