Amós 5
1 Escuchen esta palabra, mi canción de tristeza sobre ustedes, hijos de Israel.
Heare ye this worde, which I lift vp vpon you, euen a lamentation of the house of Israel.
2 La virgen de Israel ha sido abatida, para nunca más ser elevada; ella está tendida sola en su tierra; no hay nadie que la vuelva a poner de pie.
The virgine Israel is fallen, and shall no more rise: shee is left vpon her lande, and there is none to raise her vp.
3 Porque estas son las palabras del Señor Dios: El pueblo que salió con mil, solo cien quedarán; y él que envió cien, solo tendrá diez en Israel.
For thus saith ye Lord God, The citie which went out by a thousand, shall leaue an hundreth: and that which went forth by an hundreth, shall leaue ten to the house of Israel.
4 Porque estas son las palabras del Señor a los hijos de Israel: Vuelvan sus corazones a mí, para que tengan vida.
For thus saith the Lord vnto the house of Israel, Seeke ye me, and ye shall liue.
5 No busquen a Betel, y no vayas a Gilgal, ni vayas a Beerseba; porque Gilgal ciertamente será hecho prisionero, y Betel se quedará sin nada.
But seeke not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and go not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall goe into captiuitie, and Beth-el shall come to nought.
6 Ve al Señor en busca de ayuda para que puedas tener vida; por temor a que él venga como fuego estallando en la familia de José, causando destrucción, y no habrá nadie para apagarlo en Betel.
Seeke the Lord, and yee shall liue, least he breake out like fire in the house of Ioseph and deuoure it, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.
7 Tú que conviertes juicio en ajenjo, echando por los suelos la justicia;
They turne iudgement to wormewood, and leaue off righteousnes in the earth.
8 Ve en busca de ayuda al que hace a Orión y las Pléyades, él que convierte la sombra de muerte en mañana, que hace que el día se oscurezca con la noche; él que llama a las aguas del mar, y las derrama sobre la faz de la tierra; el Señor es su nombre;
He maketh Pleiades, and Orion, and he turneth the shadowe of death into the morning, and he maketh the day darke as night: he calleth the waters of the sea, and powreth them out vpon the open earth: the Lord is his Name.
9 Que envía destrucción repentina a los fuertes, de modo que la destrucción llega a la ciudad amurallada.
He strengtheneth the destroyer against the mightie: and the destroyer shall come against the fortresse.
10 Odian al que protesta contra el mal en la puerta ( de la ciudad), y aborrecen al que habla con integridad.
They haue hated him, that rebuked in the gate: and they abhorred him that speaketh vprightly.
11 Entonces, porque el pobre hombre es pisoteado, y tú le sacas impuestos de grano; te has hecho casas de piedra cortada, pero no descansarás en ellas; los hermosos viñedos plantados por tus manos no te darán vino.
Forasmuch then as your treading is vpon the poore, and yee take from him burdens of wheate, ye haue built houses of hewen stone, but ye shall not dwel in them: ye haue plated pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drinke wine of them.
12 Porque he visto cómo se incrementa tu maldad y cuán fuertes son tus pecados, perturbadores de los rectos, que toman recompensas y hacen mal a la causa de los pobres en el lugar público.
For I know your manifold transgressions, and your mightie sinnes: they afflict the iust, they take rewards, and they oppresse the poore in ye gate.
13 Entonces el prudente no dirá nada en ese tiempo; porque es un tiempo de maldad.
Therefore the prudent shall keepe silence in that time, for it is an euill time.
14 Busquen el bien y no el mal, para que la vida sea tuya, y así el Señor, el Dios de los ejércitos, estará con ustedes, como ustedes han dicho.
Seeke good and not euil, that ye may liue: and the Lord God of hostes shalbe with you, as you haue spoken.
15 Sean aborrecedores del mal y amantes del bien, establezcan la justicia en la puerta (de la ciudad); puede ser que el Señor, el Dios de los ejércitos, tenga misericordia del remanente de José.
Hate the euil, and loue the good, and establish iudgement in the gate: it may bee that the Lord God of hostes will be mercifull vnto the remnant of Ioseph.
16 Estas son las palabras del Señor, el Dios de los ejércitos, el Señor: Habrá llanto en todas las plazas; Y en todas las calles dirán: ¡Ay! ¡Ay! y llamarán al agricultor al llanto, y a lamentaciones al llorón profesional.
Therfore the Lord God of hosts, the Lord saith thus, Mourning shalbe in all streetes: and they shall say in al the hie wayes, Alas, alas: and they shall call the husbandman to lamentation, and such as can mourne, to mourning.
17 En todos los viñedos habrá gritos de dolor: porque pasaré entre en medio de ustedes, dice el Señor.
And in al the vines shalbe lamentation: for I wil passe through thee, saith the Lord.
18 ¡Ay de ustedes que desean el día del Señor! ¿Que es el día del Señor para ti? Será de tinieblas y no de luz.
Woe vnto you, that desire the day of the Lord: what haue you to do with it? the day of the Lord is darkenes and not light.
19 Como si un hombre, huyendo de un león, se encontrará cara a cara con un oso; o entró a la casa y puso su mano en la pared y recibió una mordedura de una serpiente.
As if a man did flee from a lyon, and a beare met him: or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 ¿No será el día del Señor oscuro y no luz? incluso muy oscuro, sin luz que brille?
Shal not the day of the Lord be darkenes, and not light? euen darkenes and no light in it?
21 Tus fiestas son repugnantes para mí, no tendré nada que ver con ellas; No me deleitaré en tus reuniones solemnes.
I hate and abhorre your feast dayes, and I wil not smelll in your solemne assemblies.
22 Aunque me des tus ofrendas quemadas y tus ofrendas de comida, no las aceptaré; no tendré nada que ver con las ofrendas de paz de sus animales engordados.
Though ye offer me burnt offrings and meat offrings, I wil not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offrings of your fat beasts.
23 Alejen de mí el ruido de tus canciones; Mis oídos están cerrados a la melodía de tus instrumentos.
Take thou away from me the multitude of thy songs (for I wil not heare the melodie of thy violes)
24 Pero dejen que él juicio fluya como agua, y la justicia fluya como un manantial siempre.
And let iudgement runne downe as waters, and righteousnesse as a mightie riuer.
25 ¿Viniste a mí con ofrendas de animales y ofrendas de comida en el desierto durante cuarenta años, oh casa de Israel?
Haue ye offered vnto me sacrifices and offrings in the wildernesse fourtie yeeres, O house of Israel?
26 En verdad, tendrán que cargar con él tabernáculo de Moloc, Sicut, y Qiyun sus imágenes, la estrella de su dios, que hicieron para ustedes mismos.
But you haue borne Siccuth your King, and Chiun your images, and the starre of your gods, which ye made to your selues.
27 Y los enviaré como prisioneros más lejos que Damasco, dice el Señor, cuyo nombre es el Dios de los ejércitos.
Therefore wil I cause you to goe into captiuitie beyond Damascus, saith the Lord, whose Name is the God of hostes.
