Hechos 3
1 Ahora Pedro y Juan subían al Templo a la hora novena, la hora de la oración;
One day Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the hour of prayer--the ninth hour--and, just then,
2 Y cierto hombre, que desde su nacimiento no podía mover sus piernas, fue llevado allí todos los días, y puesto a la puerta del Templo que se llama Hermosa, solicitando dinero a los que entraron al Templo;
some men were carrying there one who had been lame from birth, whom they were wont to place every day close to the Beautiful Gate (as it was called) of the Temple, for him to beg from the people as they went in.
3 Entonces él, viendo a Pedro y Juan que iban a entrar al Templo, les pidió limosna.
Seeing Peter and John about to go into the Temple, he asked them for alms.
4 Y Pedro, mirándolo, con Juan, dijo: Mantén tus ojos en nosotros.
Peter fixing his eyes on him, as John did also, said, "Look at us."
5 Y les prestó atención, esperando obtener algo de ellos.
So he looked and waited, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Pero Pedro dijo: No tengo plata ni oro, sino lo que tengo, te lo doy. En el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, levántate.
"I have no silver or gold," Peter said, "but what I have, I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene-- walk!"
7 Y lo tomó por su mano derecha, levantándose; y de inmediato sus pies y los huesos de sus piernas se hicieron fuertes,
Then taking his hand Peter lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were strengthened.
8 Y, saltando, se puso de pie y entró en el templo con ellos, caminando, brincando y alabando a Dios.
Leaping up, he stood upright and began to walk, and went into the Temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.
9 Y todo el pueblo lo vio caminando y alabando a Dios:
All the people saw him walking and praising God;
10 Y vieron que era el hombre el que pedía dinero a la puerta Hermosa del Templo, y estaban maravillados y sorprendidos de lo que había sucedido.
and recognizing him as the man who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple asking for alms, they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 Y mientras él mantenía sus manos sobre Pedro y Juan, todas las personas llenas de asombro corrían juntas al la parte del templo que se llama pórtico de Salomón.
While he still clung to Peter and John, the people, awe-struck, ran up crowding round them in what was known as Solomon's Portico.
12 Y cuando Pedro lo vio, dijo al pueblo: Ustedes, hombres de Israel, ¿por qué están tan sorprendidos de este hombre? ¿o por qué nos miran como si por nuestro poder o virtud le hubiéramos dado el uso de sus piernas?
Peter, seeing this, spoke to the people. "Israelites," he said, "why do you wonder at this man? Or why gaze at us, as though by any power or piety of our own we had enabled him to walk?
13 El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, el Dios de nuestros padres, ha glorificado a su siervo Jesús; a quien ustedes renunciaron, dándole la espalda, cuando Pilato tomó la decisión de dejarlo en libertad.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has conferred this honour on His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let Him go.
14 Pero ustedes no quisieron tener nada que ver con el Santo y el Verdadero, y pediste que se te diera un homicida,
Yes, you disowned the holy and righteous One, and asked as a favour the release of a murderer.
15 Y mataron al Señor de la vida; a quien Dios resucitó; de lo cual nosotros somos testigos.
The Prince of Life you put to death; but God has raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses as to that.
16 Y por la fe en su nombre, fortaleció a este hombre, a quien ustedes ven y conocen; sí, la fe en él nombre de Jesús, esa fe en Jesús es la que le ha hecho sanar completamente, como todos ustedes pueden ver.
It is His name-- faith in that name being the condition--which has strengthened this man whom you behold and know; and the faith which He has given has made this man sound and strong again, as you can all see.
17 Y ahora, hermanos míos, estoy consciente de que hicieron esto, al igual que sus gobernantes, en ignorancia sin saber lo que estaban haciendo.
"And now, brethren, I know that it was in ignorance that you did it, as was the case with your rulers also.
18 Pero lo que Dios había dicho antes, por boca de todos los profetas, que el Cristo tendría que sufrir, lo ha cumplido.
But in this way God has fulfilled the declarations He made through all the Prophets, that His Christ would suffer.
19 Así que, arrepiéntanse y vuelvan a Dios, para que sus pecados puedan ser quitados por completo, y les mande tiempos de refrigerio de la presencia del Señor;
Repent, therefore, and reform your lives, so that the record of your sins may be cancelled, and that there may come seasons of revival from the Lord,
20 Y para que él envíe al Cristo que les fue anunciado desde el principio, Jesús mismo:
and that He may send the Christ appointed beforehand for you--even Jesus.
21 A quien de cierto es necesario que el cielo reciba hasta los tiempos de restauración de todas las cosas, de lo cual Dios ha dado palabra por boca de los profetas, que han sido desde los primeros tiempos. (aiōn g165)
Heaven must receive Him until those times of which God has spoken from the earliest ages through the lips of His holy Prophets--the times of the reconstitution of all things. (aiōn g165)
22 Porque Moisés dijo a sus antepasados: Él Señor les dará un profeta de tu pueblo, como yo; Darás oído a todo lo que te diga.
Moses declared, "'The Lord your God will raise up a Prophet for you from among your brethren as He has raised me. In all that He says to you, you must listen to Him.
23 Y toda alma que no preste atención a ese profeta, será cortada de entre la gente.
And every one, without exception, who refuses to listen to that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the People.'
24 Y todos los profetas de Samuel y los que vinieron después, cada uno de ellos, dieron aviso de estos días.
Yes, and all the Prophets, from Samuel onwards--all who have spoken--have also announced the coming of this present time.
25 Ustedes son los hijos de los profetas, y del pacto que Dios hizo con sus padres, diciendo a Abraham: Por medio de tu simiente vendrá bendición sobre todas las familias de la tierra.
"You are the heirs of the Prophets, and of the Covenant which God made with your forefathers when He said to Abraham, 'And through your posterity all the families of the world shall be blessed.'
26 Para ti, primero, Dios envió a su hijo, lo envió para bendecirlos para que cada uno de ustedes se convierta de su maldad.
It is to you first that God, after raising His Servant from the grave, has sent Him to bless you, by causing every one of you to turn from your wickedness."
