Hechos 25

1 Así que Festo, habiendo entrado en la parte del país que estaba bajo su dominio, después de tres días subió a Jerusalén desde Cesarea.

And when Festos came to Cesarea, after three days he went up to Urishlem.

2 Y los principales sacerdotes y los principales hombres de los judíos hicieron declaraciones contra Pablo,

And the chief priest and elders showed him concerning Paulos, and besought from him,

3 Pidiendo a Festo, como favor especial, que ordenara que pablo fuera enviado a Jerusalén, cuando lo estarían esperando para matarlo en el camino.

asking of him this favour, that he would bring him to Urishlem, while they would act treacherously in the way by killing him.

4 Pero Festo, en respuesta, dijo que Pablo estaba siendo encarcelado en Cesarea, y que en poco tiempo él mismo iría allí.

And Festos returned the word, That Paulos was kept in Cesarea, and I am hastening to proceed;

5 Entonces, él dijo: que aquellos que tienen autoridad entre ustedes vayan conmigo, y si hay algún error en el hombre, que formulen una declaración contra él.

let those therefore of you who are able, go down with us, and accuse him of whatever guilt there is in the man.

6 Y cuando estuvo con ellos no más de ocho o diez días, descendió a Cesarea; y al día siguiente, él tomó su lugar en el asiento del juez, y envió a buscar a Pablo.

And when he had been there eight days or ten, he went down to Cesarea. And the day after he sat on the tribunal, and commanded to bring Paulos.

7 Y cuando vino, los judíos que habían descendido de Jerusalén se le acercaron e hicieron toda clase de declaraciones serias contra él, que no estaban respaldadas por los hechos.

And when he had come, the Jihudoyee who had come down from Urishlem surrounded him, and accusations many and hard brought against him, which they were not able to prove;

8 Entonces Pablo, en su respuesta a ellos, dijo: No he hecho nada malo contra la ley de los judíos, ni contra el templo, ni contra el César.

while Paulos put forth the mind, that he had not offended in any thing, neither against the law of the Jihudoyee, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar.

9 Pero Festo, queriendo obtener la aprobación de los judíos, dijo a Pablo: ¿Subirás a Jerusalén y serás juzgado delante de mí en relación con estas cosas?

But Festos, because he willed to accord a favour to the Jihudoyee, said to Paulos, Art thou willing to go up to Urishlem, and there concerning these things to be judged before me?

10 Y Pablo dijo: Yo estoy delante de la autoridad del César, donde es justo que yo sea juzgado; no he hecho mal alguno a los judíos, como bien pueden ver.

Paulos answered, and said, At the tribunal of Caesar stand I. There it is right for me to be judged. Not any thing have I transgressed against the Jihudoyee, as also thou knowest;

11 Si, pues, soy un malhechor y he cometido un delito con pena de muerte, estoy listo para la muerte: si no es como dicen contra mí, nadie puede entregarme a ellos. Deja que mi causa venga ante César.

and if a crime I have committed, or any thing worthy of death, I ask not (to be exempted) from death. But, if there be nothing in me of which these accuse me, no man shall give me to them as a gift. I invoke the appeals of Caesar.

12 Entonces Festo, habiendo discutido con los judíos, respondió: Tú dijiste: que venga mi causa delante de César; a César irás.

Then Festos, having spoken with the sons of his council, said, The appeals of Caesar hast thou invoked? To Caesar goest thou.

13 Cuando pasaron algunos días, el rey Agripa y Berenice llegaron a Cesarea y fueron a ver a Festo.

AND when days had been, Agripos the king and Bernike came down to Cesarea to salute Festos.

14 Y como estuvieron allí algunos días, Festo les contó la historia de Pablo, diciendo: Aquí hay un hombre que fue encarcelado por Félix:

And when they had been with him (some) days, Festos recounted to the king the judgment of Paulos, saying, A certain man has been left bound by Felix;

15 Contra el cual los principales sacerdotes y los gobernantes de los judíos hicieron una declaración cuando yo estaba en Jerusalén, pidiéndome que tome una decisión en su contra.

and when I was at Urishlem, the chief priests and elders of the Jihudoyee informed me against him, and begged that I would do for them judgment against him.

16 A quienes respondí que no es la manera romana de dar un hombre, hasta que él ha estado cara a cara con aquellos que lo están acusando, y ha tenido la oportunidad de dar una respuesta a las declaraciones hechas contra él.

And I told them, it was not the custom of the Romans to give any man as a gift to be killed, until his adversaries have come and accused him to his face, and there be given him place to defend himself against that of which he is accused.

17 Entonces, cuando se reunieron aquí, inmediatamente, al día siguiente, tomé mi lugar en el asiento del juez y lo mandé llamar.

And when I had come hither, without delay, the day after I sat on the tribunal, and commanded to bring the man to me.

18 Pero cuando se levantaron, no dijeron nada acerca de los crímenes que tenían en mente:

And his accusers stood up with him, but could not find any evil accusation to prove against him, (such) as I had expected,

19 Pero tenían ciertas preguntas en contra de él en relación con su religión, y acerca de un Jesús, ahora muerto, que, según dijo Pablo, estaba vivo.

but (had) various questions with him regarding their worship, and concerning Jeshu, a man who was dead, of whom Paulos said that he was alive.

20 Y como no tenía suficiente conocimiento para la discusión de estas cosas, le hice la sugerencia de ir a Jerusalén y ser juzgado allí.

And because I stood not upon the investigation of these (matters), I said to Paulos, Dost thou require to go to Urishlem, and there be judged concerning these?

21 Pero cuando Pablo hizo una petición para que fuera juzgado por César, ordené que lo guardaran hasta que pudiera enviarlo al César.

But he required to be kept unto the judgment of Caesar; and I commanded that he should be kept until I may send him to Caesar.

22 Y Agripa le dijo a Festo: Tengo el deseo de escuchar yo mismo al hombre. Mañana, dijo, puedes darle una audiencia.

And Agripos said, I would hear this man. And Festos said, To-morrow thou shalt hear him.

23 Así que el día después, cuando Agripa y Berenice en gran gloria habían entrado en el lugar público de audiencia, con el jefe del ejército y los principales del pueblo, por orden de Festo, Pablo fue enviado a buscar.

And the day after came Agripos and Bernike with great pomp, and entered the house of judgment, with the tribunes and the chiefs of the city. And Festos commanded, and Paulos came.

24 Y dijo Festo, rey Agripa, y todos los que están aquí presentes con nosotros, ven a este hombre, sobre el cual todos los judíos me han protestado, en Jerusalén y en este lugar, diciendo que no es correcto para él vivir por más tiempo.

And Festos said, King Agripos, and all men who are with us, concerning this man whom you see have all the people of the Jihudoyee taken me at Urishlem and here, crying, that This ought not further to live;

25 Pero, en mi opinión, no hay causa de muerte en él, y como él mismo ha pedido que lo juzgue César, he dicho que lo enviaría.

but I perceived not that he had done any thing worthy of death. And because he required to be reserved for the judgment of Caesar, I have commanded that he should be sent.

26 Pero no tengo nada concreto escrito sobre de él para enviar a César. Así que le he pedido que venga ante usted, y especialmente ante usted, rey Agripa, para que después de interrogarlo, tenga algo que poner por escrito.

But (as) I know not what to write of him unto Caesar, therefore have I willed to bring him before you, and especially before thee, king Agripos, that, having inquired into his case, I may find what to write.

27 Porque me parece contradictorio enviar a un prisionero sin aclarar lo que hay contra él.

For it is not fit when we send a man bound, not to record his transgression.
