Hechos 15

1 Y algunos hombres descendieron de Judea, enseñando a los hermanos: y diciendo que sin circuncisión, conforme al rito de Moisés, no hay salvación.

And certain having come down from Judea, were teaching the brethren — 'If ye be not circumcised after the custom of Moses, ye are not able to be saved;'

2 Y después de que Pablo y Bernabé tuvieron una fuerte discusión con ellos, los hermanos tomaron la decisión de enviar a Pablo y Bernabé y algunos otros de ellos, a los Apóstoles y a los gobernantes de la iglesia en Jerusalén acerca de esta cuestión.

there having been, therefore, not a little dissension and disputation to Paul and Barnabas with them, they arranged for Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, to go up unto the apostles and elders to Jerusalem about this question,

3 Y ellos, siendo enviados en su camino por la iglesia, pasaron por Fenicia y Samaria, dando noticias de la salvación de los gentiles, para gran gozo de todos los hermanos.

they indeed, then, having been sent forward by the assembly, were passing through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the nations, and they were causing great joy to all the brethren.

4 Y cuando llegaron a Jerusalén, tuvieron una reunión con la iglesia y los apóstoles y los principales, y dieron cuenta de todas las cosas que Dios había hecho por medio de ellos.

And having come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly, and the apostles, and the elders, they declared also as many things as God did with them;

5 Pero algunos de los fariseos, que eran de la fe, se levantaron y dijeron: Es necesario que estos tengan la circuncisión y guarden la ley de Moisés.

and there rose up certain of those of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying — 'It behoveth to circumcise them, to command them also to keep the law of Moses.'

6 Y los apóstoles y los ancianos de la iglesia se unieron y pensaron en la pregunta.

And there were gathered together the apostles and the elders, to see about this matter,

7 Y cuando hubo mucha discusión, Pedro se levantó y les dijo: “Hermanos míos, saben que hace algún tiempo Dios escogió que por mi boca se dieran las buenas nuevas a los gentiles y creyesen.

and there having been much disputing, Peter having risen up said unto them, 'Men, brethren, ye know that from former days, God among us did make choice, through my mouth, for the nations to hear the word of the good news, and to believe;

8 Y Dios, que conoce los corazones, mostró que los aceptaba, dándoles el Espíritu Santo tal como nos lo hizo a nosotros;

and the heart-knowing God did bare them testimony, having given to them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us,

9 No haciendo división entre ellos y nosotros, purificando sus corazones por medio de la fe.

and did put no difference also between us and them, by the faith having purified their hearts;

10 ¿Por qué, pues, estás poniendo a prueba a Dios, poniendo yugo a los discípulos, un yugo tan fuerte que ni siquiera nuestros padres o nosotros hemos podido llevar?

now, therefore, why do ye tempt God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

11 Pero creemos en que obtendremos la salvación por la gracia del Señor Jesús de la misma manera que ellos.

but, through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, even as also they.'

12 Y todo el pueblo estuvo en silencio, mientras que Bernabé y Pablo dieron cuenta de las señales y prodigios que Dios había hecho entre los gentiles por medio de ellos.

And all the multitude did keep silence, and were hearkening to Barnabas and Paul, declaring as many signs and wonders as God did among the nations through them;

13 Y cuando hubieron llegado a su fin, Santiago, respondiendo, dijo: Hermanos míos, escúchenme:

and after they are silent, James answered, saying, 'Men, brethren, hearken to me;

14 Simon dio cuenta de cómo Dios primero se complació en tomar de entre los gentiles un pueblo para sí mismo.

Simeon did declare how at first God did look after to take out of the nations a people for His name,

15 Y esto está de acuerdo con las palabras de los profetas, como se dice:

and to this agree the words of the prophets, as it hath been written:

16 Después de estas cosas volveré, y levantaré la tienda de David que fue destruida; repararé sus ruinas y lo volveré a levantar:

After these things I will turn back, and I will build again the tabernacle of David, that is fallen down, and its ruins I will build again, and will set it upright —

17 Para que el resto de los hombres busquen al Señor, y todos los gentiles que han sido consagrados a mi nombre,

that the residue of men may seek after the Lord, and all the nations, upon whom My name hath been called, saith the Lord, who is doing all these things.

18 Dice el Señor, que hace conocer todas estas cosas de tiempos antiguos, ha dado su palabra. (aiōn g165)

'Known from the ages to God are all His works; (aiōn g165)

19 Por esta razón, mi decisión es que no se les debe imponer cargas innecesaria a aquellos que, no siendo judíos, dejan sus antiguas creencias para seguir a Dios.

wherefore I judge: not to trouble those who from the nations do turn back to God,

20 Sino que les damos órdenes de que se guarden de las cosas ofrecidas a los dioses falsos, y de la fornicación, de los animaless muertos enos, y de la sangre

but to write to them to abstain from the pollutions of the idols, and the whoredom, and the strangled thing; and the blood;

21 Porque Moisés, desde tiempos muy lejanos, tiene sus predicadores en cada ciudad, leyendo su ley en las sinagogas todos los sábados.

for Moses from former generations in every city hath those preaching him — in the synagogues every sabbath being read.'

22 Entonces pareció bueno a los Apóstoles y a los ancianos y a toda la iglesia, enviar hombres de en medio de ellos a Antioquía con Pablo y Bernabé; Judas, llamado Barsabás, y Silas, hombres de importancia entre los hermanos.

Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, chosen men out of themselves to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas — Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren —

23 Y enviaron una carta junto a ellos, diciendo: Los Apóstoles, los ancianos, los hermanos, a los hermanos que son de los gentiles en Antioquía, Siria y Cilicia, Salud.

having written through their hand thus: 'The apostles, and the elders, and the brethren, to those in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, brethren, who [are] of the nations, greeting;

24 Porque tenemos conocimiento de que algunos que se apartaron de nosotros les han estado molestando con sus palabras, poniendo sus almas en duda; a quien no dimos tal orden;

seeing we have heard that certain having gone forth from us did trouble you with words, subverting your souls, saying to be circumcised and to keep the law, to whom we did give no charge,

25 Nos pareció bien, habiendo llegado a un acuerdo juntos, enviar a estos hombres a ustedes, con nuestros queridos Bernabé y Pablo,

it seemed good to us, having come together with one accord, chosen men to send unto you, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul —

26 hombres que han entregado sus vidas por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

men who have given up their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ —

27 Así que hemos enviado a Judas y a Silas, ellos hablarán personalmente con ustedes para explicarles todo.

we have sent, therefore, Judas and Silas, and they by word are telling the same things.

28 Porque le pareció bien al Espíritu Santo, y a nosotros, no poner sobre ustedes nada más que estas cosas necesarias;

'For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, no more burden to lay upon you, except these necessary things:

29 Que se abstengan de las cosas ofrecidas a los dioses falsos, y de la sangre, no coman carne de animales estrangulados, de fornicación; eviten la inmoralidad sexual; si se abstienen de esto, lo harán bien. Que les vaya bien.

to abstain from things offered to idols, and blood, and a strangled thing, and whoredom; from which keeping yourselves, ye shall do well; be strong!'

30 Entonces ellos, siendo enviados, descendieron a Antioquía, y habiendo reunido al pueblo, les dieron la carta.

They then, indeed, having been let go, went to Antioch, and having brought the multitude together, did deliver the epistle,

31 Y después de leerlo, se alegraron por la consolación que les daban.

and they having read, did rejoice for the consolation;

32 Y Judas y Silas, que eran ellos mismos profetas, dieron enseñanza a los hermanos y los fortalecieron en la fe.

Judas also and Silas, being themselves also prophets, through much discourse did exhort the brethren, and confirm,

33 Y cuando estuvieron allí algún tiempo, los hermanos los enviaron en paz a aquellos que los habían enviado.

and having passed some time, they were let go with peace from the brethren unto the apostles;

34 Mas a Silas le pareció bien quedarse ahí,

and it seemed good to Silas to remain there still.

35 Pero Pablo y Bernabé continuaron en Antioquía, enseñando y predicando la palabra de Dios, con algunos otros.

And Paul and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming good news — with many others also — the word of the Lord;

36 Y después de algunos días, Pablo le dijo a Bernabé: Volvamos y veamos a los hermanos en cada pueblo donde hemos dado la palabra de Dios, y veamos cómo están.

and after certain days, Paul said unto Barnabas, 'Having turned back again, we may look after our brethren, in every city in which we have preached the word of the Lord — how they are.'

37 Y Bernabé tuvo el deseo de llevarse consigo a Juan, llamado Marcos.

And Barnabas counselled to take with [them] John called Mark,

38 Pero Pablo opinaba que no era correcto llevar consigo a uno que se había alejado de ellos en Panfilia, y que no había continuado con el trabajo.

and Paul was not thinking it good to take him with them who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work;

39 Y hubo una aguda discusión entre ellos, de modo que se separaron unos de otros, y Bernabé se llevó a Marcos consigo y se fue en barco a Chipre;

there came, therefore, a sharp contention, so that they were parted from one another, and Barnabas having taken Mark, did sail to Cyprus,

40 Pero Pablo tomó a Silas y se fue con la bendición de los hermanos.

and Paul having chosen Silas, went forth, having been given up to the grace of God by the brethren;

41 Y pasó por Siria y Cilicia, fortaleciendo las iglesias en la fe.

and he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the assemblies.
