Hechos 13

1 Había en Antioquía, en la iglesia de allí, profetas y maestros: Bernabé y Simón, que se llamaba Niger, y Lucio de Cirene, y Manaén, pariente del rey Herodes, y Saúl.

There were also in the Church that was at Antiochia, certaine Prophets and teachers, as Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen (which had bin brought vp with Herod the Tetrarche) and Saul.

2 Ministrando al Señor, y ayunando, el Espíritu Santo dijo: Dejen que Bernabé y Saúl me sean entregados para el trabajo especial para el cual fueron marcados por mí.

Nowe as they ministred to the Lord, and fasted, the holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the worke whereunto I haue called them.

3 Luego, después de orar y ayunar, les impusieron las manos y los despidieron.

Then fasted they and prayed, and layde their hands on them, and let them goe.

4 Entonces, siendo enviados por el Espíritu Santo, descendieron a Seleucia; y desde allí fueron en barco a Chipre.

And they, after they were sent foorth of the holy Ghost, came downe vnto Seleucia, and from thence they sayled to Cyprus.

5 Y en Salamina, ellos predicaban la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los judíos; y Juan estaba con ellos, ayudándoles.

And when they were at Salamis, they preached the worde of God in the Synagogues of the Iewes: and they had also Iohn to their minister.

6 Y cuando hubieron recorrido toda la isla hasta Pafos, se encontraron a un mago y falso profeta, un judío que se llamaba Barjesús;

So when they had gone throughout the yle vnto Paphus, they found a certaine sorcerer, a false prophet, being a Iewe, named Bariesus,

7 Quién estaba con el gobernante, Sergio Paulo, un hombre inteligente. Este hombre envió por Bernabé y Saulo, deseando tener conocimiento de la palabra de Dios.

Which was with the Deputie Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. He called vnto him Barnabas and Saul, and desired to heare the woorde of God.

8 Pero Elimas, el mago (porque ese es el sentido de su nombre), se puso contra ellos, con el propósito de apartar al gobernante de la fe.

But Elymas, ye sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstoode them, and sought to turne away the Deputie from the faith.

9 Pero Saulo, cuyo otro nombre es Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, mirándole con dureza, dijo:

Then Saul (which also is called Paul) being full of the holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

10 ¡Oh tú, que estás lleno de engaños y maldad, un hijo del diablo, que odia todo lo bueno, ¿por siempre estarás desviando a las personas de los caminos correctos del Señor?

And sayde, O full of all subtiltie and all mischiefe, the childe of the deuill, and enemie of all righteousnesse, wilt thou not cease to peruert the straight waies of the Lord?

11 Y ahora, mira, la mano del Señor está contra ti, y estarás ciego y no podrás ver el sol por un tiempo. Y de inmediato, una bruma oscura cayó sobre él; y buscó a alguien que lo llevara de la mano porque estaba ciego.

Nowe therefore behold, the hand of the Lord is vpon thee, and thou shalt be blinde, and not see the sunne for a season. And immediately there fel on him a mist and a darknes; and he went about, seeking some to leade him by the hand.

12 Entonces el gobernante, cuando vio lo que se hizo, creyó, maravillándose ante la enseñanza del Señor.

Then the Deputie when he sawe what was done, beleeued, and was astonied at the doctrine of the Lord.

13 Entonces Pablo y los que estaban con él partieron en barco desde Pafos, y vinieron a Perge, en Panfilia; y allí Juan se apartó de ellos y regresó a Jerusalén.

Nowe when Paul and they that were with him were departed by shippe from Paphus, they came to Perga a citie of Pamphylia: then Iohn departed from them, and returned to Hierusalem.

14 Pero ellos, pasando por Perga, vinieron a Antioquía en Pisidia; y entraron en la sinagoga en sábado y se sentaron.

But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antiochia a citie of Pisidia, and went into the Synagogue on ye Sabbath day, and sate downe.

15 Y después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los príncipes de la sinagoga enviaron a ellos, diciendo: Hermanos, si tienen una palabra de consuelo para la gente, hablen.

And after the lecture of the Law and Prophets, the rulers of ye Synagogue sent vnto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye haue any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

16 Entonces Pablo, levantándose y haciendo una señal con su mano, dijo: Varones de Israel, y ustedes que temen a Dios, escuchen.

Then Paul stoode vp and beckened with the hand, and sayde, Men of Israel, and yee that feare God, hearken.

17 El Dios de este pueblo Israel hizo la selección de nuestros padres, levantando a la gente de su condición baja cuando vivían en la tierra de Egipto, y con un brazo fuerte los sacó de ella.

The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt in the land of Egypt, and with an high arme brought them out thereof.

18 Y por cerca de cuarenta años aguantó su conducta en el desierto.

And about the time of fourtie yeeres, suffered he their maners in the wildernesse.

19 Y habiendo destruido siete naciones en la tierra de Canaán, les dio la tierra por su heredad por alrededor de cuatrocientos cincuenta años.

And he destroied seuen nations in the land of Chanaan, and deuided their lad to them by lot.

20 Después de estas cosas, les dio jueces, hasta el tiempo del profeta Samuel.

Then afterward he gaue vnto them Iudges about foure hundreth and fiftie yeeres, vnto the time of Samuel the Prophet.

21 Entonces, a petición de ellos, Dios les dio a Saúl, hijo de Cis, un hombre de la familia de Benjamín, que fue su rey durante cuarenta años.

So after that, they desired a King, and God gaue vnto them Saul, the sonne of Cis, a man of ye tribe of Beniamin, by the space of fourty yeres.

22 Más tarde Dios quitó de su puesto a Saúl, puso por rey a David, al cual dio testimonio, diciendo: Tomaré a David, hijo de Isaí, un hombre querido de mi corazón, que hará todo lo que me place.

And after he had taken him away, he raised vp Dauid to be their King, of whom he witnessed, saying, I haue found Dauid the sonne of Iesse, a man after mine owne heart, which will doe all things that I will.

23 De la simiente de este hombre, Dios le dio a Israel un Salvador, Jesús, al dar su palabra;

Of this mans seede hath God according to his promise raised vp to Israel, ye Sauiour Iesus:

24 Por cuya venida Juan preparó el camino al predicar a todo el pueblo de Israel el bautismo de arrepentimiento.

When Iohn had first preached before his coming the baptisme of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25 Y cuando Juan estaba terminando su trabajo, dijo: ¿Quien piensan que soy? Yo no soy él; pero uno viene detrás de mí, cuyos zapatos no soy digno para desatar sus sandalias.

And when Iohn had fulfilled his course, he saide, Whom ye thinke that I am, I am not he: but beholde, there commeth one after me, whose shooe of his feete I am not worthy to loose.

26 Hermanos míos, hijos de la familia de Abraham, y todos aquellos que tienen temor de Dios, a nosotros se ha enviado la palabra de esta salvación.

Yee men and brethren, children of the generation of Abraham, and whosoeuer among you feareth God, to you is the woorde of this saluation sent.

27 Porque los hombres de Jerusalén y sus gobernantes, que no tenían conocimiento de él, ni de las palabras de los profetas que les llegaban a oídos el día de reposo, les dieron efecto al juzgarlo.

For the inhabitants of Hierusalem, and their rulers, because they knewe him not, nor yet the woordes of the Prophets, which are read euery Sabbath day, they haue fulfilled them in condemning him.

28 Y aunque no se vio en él causa de muerte, le pidieron a Pilato que lo matara.

And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate to kill him.

29 Y cuando hubieron hecho todo lo que se dice en las Escrituras acerca de él, lo bajaron del madero y lo enterraron.

And when they had fulfilled all things that were written of him, they tooke him downe from the tree, and put him in a sepulchre.

30 Pero Dios lo levantó de entre los muertos.

But God raised him vp from the dead.

31 Y por varios días fue visto por los que habían venido con él desde Galilea a Jerusalén, quienes ahora son sus testigos delante del pueblo.

And hee was seene many dayes of them, which came vp with him from Galile to Hierusalem, which are his witnesses vnto the people.

32 Y les damos las buenas noticias de la promesa, hecha a nuestros padres,

And we declare vnto you, that touching the promise made vnto the fathers,

33 Que Dios ha cumplido a ellos, para nuestros hijos, al enviar a Jesús; como dice en el segundo Salmo, Tú eres mi Hijo; este día te he engendrado.

God hath fulfilled it vnto vs their children, in that he raised vp Iesus, euen as it is written in the seconde Psalme, Thou art my Sonne: this day haue I begotten thee.

34 Dios ya había anunciado que lo resucitaría, para nunca más volver a la corrupción, él ha dicho estas palabras: Te daré las misericordias santas y ciertas de David.

Nowe as concerning that he raised him vp from the dead, no more to returne to corruption, he hath said thus, I wil giue you the holy things of Dauid, which are faithfull.

35 Porque él dice en otro Salmo, no dejarás que tu Santo vea la corrupción.

Wherefore hee sayeth also in another place, Thou wilt not suffer thine Holy one to see corruption.

36 Y David, habiendo hecho la obra de Dios para su generación, se durmió, y fue puesto con sus padres, y su cuerpo se descompuso.

Howbeit, Dauid after hee had serued his time by the counsell of God, hee slept, and was laid with his fathers, and sawe corruption.

37 Pero él, que fue levantado por Dios, no vio la corrupción.

But he whom God raised vp, sawe no corruption.

38 Así que, les ruego, hermanos, que por este hombre se les anuncia el perdón de los pecados:

Be it knowen vnto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached vnto you the forgiuenesse of sinnes.

39 Y por medio de él todo el que cree queda libre de todas esas cosas, de las cuales la ley de Moisés no pudieron ser justificados.

And from al things, from which ye could not be iustified by the Law of Moses, by him euery one that beleeueth, is iustified.

40 Así que ten cuidado de que estas palabras de los profetas no se hagan realidad para ti;

Beware therefore lest that come vpon you, which is spoken of in the Prophets,

41 Miren, ustedes que desprecian, asombrense y desaparezcan; porque haré una cosa en sus días a la cual no las creerían, incluso si alguien les contara.

Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and vanish away: for I woorke a woorke in your daies, a woorke which yee shall not beleeue, if a man would declare it you.

42 Y cuando salieron, pidieron que se les dijera estas palabras otra vez en el siguiente sábado el día de reposo.

And when they were come out of the Synagogue of the Iewes, the Gentiles besought, that they woulde preach these woordes to them the next Sabbath day.

43 Cuando terminó la reunión, varios judíos y los gentiles temerosos de Dios que se habían convertido en judíos fueron tras Pablo y Bernabé, quienes hablándoles, les persuadieron qué importante era seguir en la gracia de Dios.

Nowe when the congregation was dissolued, many of the Iewes and Proselytes that feared God, followed Paul and Barnabas, which spake to them, and exhorted them to continue in the grace of God.

44 Y en el sábado siguiente, casi toda la ciudad se unió para escuchar la palabra de Dios.

And ye next Sabbath day came almost the whole citie together, to heare the worde of God.

45 Pero cuando los judíos vieron tanta gente, se llenaron de envidia y contradecían y blasfemaban en contra de la predicación de Pablo.

But when the Iewes saw the people, they were full of enuie, and spake against those things, which were spoken of Paul, contrarying them, and railing on them.

46 Entonces Pablo y Bernabé, sin temor, dijeron: Era necesario que la palabra de Dios les fuera dada primero, ustedes que son judíos; pero debido a que ustedes lo rechazan, y no se consideran dignos de la vida eterna, ahora se le ofrecerá a los gentiles. (aiōnios g166)

Then Paul and Barnabas spake boldly, and sayde, It was necessarie that the woorde of God shoulde first haue beene spoken vnto you: but seeing yee put it from you, and iudge your selues vnworthie of euerlasting life, loe, we turne to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)

47 Porque así nos ha mandado el Señor, diciendo: Te he dado por luz a los gentiles, para que seas para salvación hasta lo último de la tierra.

For so hath the Lord commanded vs, saying, I haue made thee a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be the saluation vnto the end of the world.

48 Y los gentiles, oyendo esto, se alegraron y glorificaron la palabra de Dios; y los escogidos por Dios para la vida eterna creyeron. (aiōnios g166)

And when the Gentiles heard it, they were glad, and glorified the woorde of the Lord: and as many as were ordeined vnto eternall life, beleeued. (aiōnios g166)

49 Y la palabra de Jehová se predicó por toda esa región.

Thus the worde of the Lord was published throughout the whole countrey.

50 Pero los judíos, instigaron a las mujeres temerosas y honorables de Dios y de los principales hombres de la ciudad, comenzaron un ataque contra Pablo y Bernabé, expulsandolos de esa región.

But the Iewes stirred certaine deuoute and honourable women, and the chiefe men of the citie, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coastes.

51 Pero ellos, sacudiendo el polvo de ese lugar de sus pies, vinieron a Iconio.

But they shooke off the dust of their feete against them, and came vnto Iconium.

52 Y los discípulos estaban llenos de alegría y del Espíritu Santo.

And the disciples were filled with ioy, and with the holy Ghost.
