2 Tesalonicenses 2
1 Ahora, en cuanto a la venida del Señor Jesucristo, y nuestro encuentro con él, es nuestro deseo, hermanos míos,
As to the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being gathered to meet him, we beg you, Brothers,
2 Que no cambien fácilmente de opinión ni se turben con un espíritu, ni con una palabra, ni con una carta como de nosotros, con la sugerencia de que el día del Señor ya ha llegado;
not lightly to let your minds become unsettled, nor yet to be disturbed by any revelation, or by any message, or by any letter, purporting to come from us, to the effect that the Day of the Lord is come.
3 No se dejen engañar: porque primero se apartaran de la fe, y la revelación del hombre de pecado, el hijo de la destrucción,
Do not let any one deceive you, whatever he may do. For it will not come until after the Great Apostasy, and the appearing of that Incarnation of Wickedness, that the Lost soul,
4 El cual se pone contra toda autoridad, levantándose a sí mismo sobre todo lo que es nombrado Dios o se le da culto; para que tome asiento en el Templo de Dios, presentándose como Dios.
who so opposes himself to every one that is spoken of as a God or as an object of worship, and so exalts himself above them, that he seats himself in the Temple of God, and displays himself as God!
5 ¿No recuerdan lo que dije cuando estaba con ustedes y les comuniqué estas cosas?
Do not you remember how, when I was with you, I used to speak to you of all this?
6 Y ahora está claro para ustedes lo que está retrasando su revelación hasta que llegue el momento de ser visto.
And you know now what the restraining influence is which prevents his appearing before his appointed time.
7 Porque el secreto del mal está ahora mismo obrando: pero hay uno que está ocultando el mal hasta que lo quiten del camino.
Wickedness, indeed, is already at work in secret; but only until he who at present restrains it is removed out of the way.
8 Y entonces vendrá la revelación de aquel malvado, a quien el Señor Jesús matará con el aliento de su boca, y dará a luz por la revelación de su venida;
Then will ‘Wickedness Incarnate’ appear, but the Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his lips, and annihilate him by the splendour of his Coming.
9 Inicuo cuya venida está marcada por la obra de Satanás, con todo poder, señales y falsas maravillas,
For at the Coming of the Lord there will be great activity on the part of Satan, in the form of all kinds of deceptive miracles, signs, and marvels, as well as of wicked attempts to delude —
10 Y con todo engaño de maldad entre aquellos cuyo destino es la destrucción; porque no quisieron aceptar y amar la verdad por el cual podrían tener la salvación.
to the ruin of those who are on the path to destruction, because they have never received and loved the Truth to their own Salvation.
11 Y por esta causa, Dios los entregará al poder del engaño y pondrán su fe en lo que es falso:
That is why God places them under the influence of a delusion, to cause them to believe a lie;
12 Para que todos sean juzgados, los que no tuvieron fe en lo que es verdad, sino que se complacieron en el mal.
so that sentence may be passed on all those who refuse to believe the Truth, but delight in wickedness.
13 Pero es correcto que alabemos a Dios en todo momento por ustedes, hermanos, amados por el Señor, porque fue el propósito de Dios desde el principio que pudieran tener la salvación, ser hechos santos por el Espíritu y por la fe. en lo que es verdad:
But, Brothers, whom the Lord loves, it is our duty always to thank God about you, for, from the first, God chose you for Salvation through the purifying influence of the Spirit, and your belief in the Truth.
14 Y con este propósito les dio parte a través de las buenas nuevas de las cuales nosotros fuimos los predicadores, incluso para que pudieran tener parte en la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
To this you were called by the Good News which we brought you, to attain to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Entonces, hermanos, esfuércense en su propósito, y guarda la enseñanza que les ha sido dada por palabra o por carta de nosotros.
Stand firm then, Brothers, and hold fast to the truths that we taught you, whether by word or by letter.
16 Ahora nuestro Señor Jesucristo mismo, y Dios nuestro Padre que nos amó y nos dio consuelo eterno y buena esperanza por medio de la gracia, (aiōnios g166)
And may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and, in his loving-kindness, gave us unfailing consolation and good ground for hope, (aiōnios g166)
17 Les de consuelo en sus corazones y confirme en toda buena obra y palabra.
console your hearts, and strengthen you to do and to say all that is right.
