2 Samuel 23

1 Estas son las últimas palabras de David. David, el hijo de Isaí, dice: él hombre que fue exaltado, el hombre a quien el Dios de Jacob ungió, el dulce salmista de Israel, dice:

Now, these, are the last words of David, —The oracle of David, son of Jesse, Yea the oracle of The man raised up on high, The Anointed of the God of Jacob, the Delight of the Songs of Israel:

2 El espíritu del Señor habló por medio de mí, su palabra estaba en mi lengua.

The Spirit of Yahweh, spake in me, —And, his word, was on my tongue;

3 El Dios de Israel dijo: La palabra de la Roca de Israel vino a mí: habrá un Justo que gobierne sobre los hombres, que gobierne en el temor de Dios,

Said the God of Israel, Unto me, spake the Rock of Israel: —One Ruling over Men, A Righteous One, ruling in the reverence of God,

4 Es como la luz de la mañana, cuando sale el sol, una mañana sin nubes; Haciendo que la hierba brote de la tierra.

Is even as the light of the morning when ariseth the sun, —A morning, without clouds, [As] from brightness, [and] from rain, the fresh shoots out of the earth.

5 Aunque aún no es mi casa así con Dios. Sin embargo; porque él ha hecho conmigo un pacto eterno, ordenado en todas las cosas y será guardado. Pues esta es toda mi salvación y todo mi deseo, ¿no las hará ciertamente germinar?

When, not so, was my house with GOD, Then, a covenant age-abiding, he appointed me, Ordered in all things and guarded, Now that it is all my salvation and all my desire, Will he not make it shoot forth?

6 Pero los malhechores, todos ellos, serán como espinos para ser apartados, porque no pueden ser agarrados con la mano.

But, as for the abandoned, like thorns to be tossed away are they all, —For, not with the hand, can they be taken;

7 Pero cualquiera que los toque debe estar armado con hierro y con asta de lanza; y serán quemados con fuego, cada uno de ellos.

But, the man that would touch them, Must fence himself with iron, and the shaft of a spear, —Then, with fire, shall they be, consumed, on the spot!

8 Estos son los nombres de los hombres de guerra de David: Él Tacmonita, jefe de los tres más valientes; éste era Adino eznita Su lanza fue levantada contra ochocientos asesinandolos en una ocasión.

These, are the names of the mighty men, who belonged to David, —The president a Tachmonite head of the charioteers, the same, was Adino the Eznite, for eight hundred, slain at one time.

9 Después de él estaba Eleazar, el hijo de Dodo el ahohíta, uno de los tres grandes combatientes, que estaba con David en Pas-damim cuando los filisteos se reunieron allí para la lucha; y cuando los hombres de Israel habían huido,

And, after him, Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi, —in the hero-class of mighty men, with David, when they reproached the Philistines, they were gathered together there to battle, but the men of Israel had gone up;

10 Estaba con David y siguió luchando contra los filisteos hasta que su mano se cansó y se quedó rígida por agarrar su espada: y ese día el Señor dio una gran victoria, y la gente regresó después de él solo para tomar los bienes de los filisteos.

he, however, arose and smote among the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto his sword, so Yahweh wrought a great victory on that day, —the people, coming back after him, only to strip the slain.

11 Después de él estaba Sama, el hijo de Ela el Ararita. Y los filisteos se reunieron en Lehi, donde había un poco de tierra llena de semillas; y la gente huyó de los filisteos.

And, after him, Shammah son of Agee, the Hararite, —and, when the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, there being at hand an allotment of field-land full of lentils, but, the people, having fled from the face of the Philistines,

12 Pero él mantuvo su lugar en medio del campo, y mantuvo su ataque y venció a los filisteos. Y el Señor dio una gran victoria.

then took he his stand in the midst of the allotment, and defended it, and smote the Philistines, —and Yahweh wrought a great victory.

13 Y tres de los treinta cayeron al comienzo del corte de grano, y vinieron a David al lugar fuerte de Adulam; y la banda de filisteos había tomado su posición en el valle de Refaim.

And three of the thirty chiefs descended, and came in, towards harvest, unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, —although, a troop of Philistines, were encamped in the vale of Rephaim;

14 Y en ese momento David se había puesto a cubierto en el lugar fuerte, y una fuerza armada de los filisteos estaba en Belén.

and, David, then was in a stronghold, —and, a garrison of Philistines, was then in Bethlehem.

15 Y David, conmovido por un fuerte deseo, dijo: ¡Si alguien me diera un trago de agua del pozo de agua que está a la entrada de Belén!

And David longed, and said, —Who will give me to drink water out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?

16 Y los tres hombres, abriéndose paso a través del ejército filisteo, tomaron agua del pozo que está a la entrada de Belén, y se la llevaron a David, pero él no la tomó pero, derramándola, hizo una ofrenda al Señor.

And the three mighty men brake through the camp of Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David, —yet would he not drink, but poured it out unto Yahweh,

17 Y él dijo: Lejos sea de mí, Señor, haz esto; ¿Cómo puedo tomar como mi bebida la sangre vital de los hombres que han puesto sus vidas en peligro? Así que no la bebió. Estas cosas hicieron los tres grandes hombres de guerra.

and said—Be it far from me, O Yahweh, that I should do this! is it not the blood of the men who went with their lives [in their hands]? So he would not drink it. These things, did the three mighty men.

18 Y Abisai, hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, era jefe de los treinta. Mató a trescientos con su lanza, y se ganó un nombre entre los treinta.

And. Abishai brother of Joab son of Zeruiah, he, was chief of three, in that he brandished his spear against three hundred whom he slew; and, he, had a name among three.

19 ¿No fue el más noble de los treinta? así que se hizo su capitán, pero él no era igual a los tres primeros.

Was he not most honourable, of the three, and so became their captain? Nevertheless, unto the three, he attained not.

20 Y Benaía, hijo de Joiada, guerrero de Cabseel, había hecho grandes actos; mató a los dos hijos de Ariel de Moab; bajó a un hoyo y mató a un león en tiempo de nieve.

Benaiah also, son of Jehoiadah, son of an active man, hero of many a deed, a man of Kabzeel, he, smote the two sons of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, on a day of snow;

21 E hizo un ataque a un egipcio, un hombre alto; y el egipcio tenía una lanza en la mano; pero bajó a él con un palo y, sacando la lanza de las manos del egipcio, lo mató con esa misma lanza.

he, also smote an Egyptian, who was of valiant bearing, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear, but he went down unto him with a staff, —and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his own spear.

22 Estos fueron los hechos de Benaía, hijo de Joiada, que tuvo un gran nombre entre los treinta hombres de guerra.

These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and, he, had a name among three mighty men.

23 Fue honrado durante el resto de los treinta, pero no fue igual a los tres primeros. Y David lo puso sobre los guerreros de la guardia personal.

He was the most honourable, of thirty, although, unto the three, he attained no, —so David added him to his council.

24 Asael, el hermano de Joab, fue uno de los treinta; y Elhanan, el hijo de Dodo, de Belén,

Asahel, brother of Joab, was among the thirty, —Elhanan, son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;

25 Sama de Harod, Elica de Harod,

Shammah, the Harodite; Elika, the Harodite;

26 Heles, el paltita, Ira, el hijo de Iques, deTecoa,

Helez, the Paltite, Ira, son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite;

27 Abiezer, de Anatot; Sibecai, de Husah;

Abiezer, the Anathothite, Mebunnai, the Hushathite;

28 Salmón, el Ahohita; Maharai, de Netofa;

Zalmon, the Ahohite, Maharai, the Netophathite;

29 Heled, el hijo de Baana, también de Netofa; Itai, hijo de Ribai de Guibeá, de los hijos de Benjamín.

Heleb, son of Baanah, the Netophathite, —Ittai, son of Ribai, of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin;

30 Benaía, de Piraton; Hidai del arroyo de Gaas;

Benaiah, a Pirathonite, Hiddai, of the torrents of Gaash;

31 Abi-albon, él arbatita; Azmavet de Bahurim,

Abi-albon, the Arbathite, Azmaveth, the Barhumite;

32 Eliaba, el Saalbonita; los hijos de Jasen;

Eliahba, the Shaalbonite, (Of) the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;

33 Jonatán, hijo de Sama, el ararita; , Ahiam, hijo de Sarar, también ararita,

Shammah, the Hararite, Ahiam, son of Sharar, the Ararite;

34 Elifelet, hijo de Ahasabai, hijo del de Maaca; Eliam, hijo de Ahitofel, de Gilo.

Eliphelet, son of Ahasbai, son of the Maacathite. Eliam, son of Ahithophel, the Gilonite.

35 Hezrai de Carmel, Paarai el Arbita;

Hezro, the Carmelite, Paarai, the Arbite;

36 Igal, el hijo de Natán de Soba; Bani de Gad.

Igal, son of Nathan, of Zobah, Bani, the Gadite;

37 Selec, de Amon; Naharai, de Beerot, escuderos y de Joab, hijo de Sarvia.

Zelek, the Ammonite, —Naharai, the Beerothite, armour bearers to Joab son of Zeruiah;

38 Ira, de Jatir; Gareb, también de Jatir,

Ira, the Ithrite, Gareb, the Ithrite;

39 Urías el hitita: treinta y siete en total.

Uriah, the Hittite, In all, thirty and seven.
