1 En sus días, subió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y Joacim fue su siervo por tres años; luego se rebeló contra él.
In his days, came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, —and Jehoiakim became his servant three years, then turned he and rebelled against him.
2 Y el Señor envió contra él bandas de los caldeos y de los sirios y de los moabitas y de los hijos de Amón; enviándolos contra Judá para su destrucción, como había dicho por sus siervos los profetas.
And Yahweh sent against him troops of Chaldeans, and troops of Syrians, and troops of Moabites, and troops of the sons of Ammon, yea he sent them against Judah, to destroy him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servants the prophets.
3 Sólo por la palabra del Señor vino este destino a Judá, para apartarla de su rostro; por los pecados de Manasés y todo el mal que hizo;
Surely, it was, because of the anger of Yahweh, that this came upon Judah, to remove them from his presence, —for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done:
4 Y por la muerte de los que no hicieron nada malo, porque llenó a Jerusalén de la sangre de los rectos; y el Señor no tenía perdón por ello.
moreover also, for the innocent blood that he had shed, so that he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, —which Yahweh was not willing to pardon.
5 Los demás hechos de Joacim, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
Now, the rest of the story of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
6 Y Joacim durmió con sus padres; y Joaquín su hijo se convirtió en rey en su lugar.
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, —and, Jehoiachin his son, reigned, in his stead.
7 Y el rey de Egipto no volvió a salir de su tierra, porque el rey de Babilonia había tomado toda su tierra, desde la corriente de Egipto hasta el río Eufrates.
And the king of Egypt came no more again out of his land, —for the king of Babylon had taken—from the ravine of Egypt, unto the river Euphrates, all that had belonged to the king of Egypt.
8 Joaquín tenía dieciocho años cuando se convirtió en rey, gobernó en Jerusalén durante tres meses, y el nombre de su madre era Neusta, la hija de Elnatan de Jerusalén.
Eighteen years old, was Jehoiachin when he began to reign, and, three months, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan, of Jerusalem.
9 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como había hecho su padre.
And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that, his father, had done.
10 En ese momento, los ejércitos de Nabucodonosor llegaron a Jerusalén y la ciudad estaba cerrada por todos lados.
At that time, came up the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem, —and the city came into the siege.
11 Y llegó allí Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, mientras sus siervos la tenían sitiada;
And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants were about to besiege it.
12 Entonces Joaquín, rey de Judá, salió al rey de Babilonia y se rindieron, con su madre y sus siervos y sus jefes y sus oficiales y hombres de confianza; y en el octavo año del gobierno de Nabucodonosor.
Then came out Jehoiachin king of Judah, unto the king of Babylon, he and his mother, and his servants, and his generals, and his courtiers, —and the king of Babylon took him, in the eighth year of his reign.
13 Luego se llevó todas las riquezas almacenadas de la casa del Señor y los bienes de la casa del rey, cortando todas las vasijas de oro que Salomón, rey de Israel, había hecho en la casa del Señor, como el Señor había dicho.
And he carried forth from thence, all the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, —and he cut off all the fittings of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Yahweh, according to all that, Yahweh, had spoken.
14 Y se llevó a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén, a todos los jefes y a todos los hombres de guerra, diez mil prisioneros; y todos los trabajadores expertos y los trabajadores del metal; sólo el tipo más pobre de la gente de la tierra no fue quitado.
And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the generals, and all the mighty men of valour, ten thousand becoming captives, and all the artificers and the smiths, —none remained save the poorest of the people of the land.
15 Tomó a Joaquín prisionero en Babilonia, con su madre y sus esposas, sus oficiales de confianza y los hombres importantes de la tierra; los tomó a todos como prisioneros de Jerusalén a Babilonia.
And he carried away captive Jehoiachin, to Babylon, —and, the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his courtiers, and the nobles of the land, took he away captive, from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16 Y todos los hombres de guerra, siete mil de ellos, y mil trabajadores expertos y herreros, todos ellos fuertes, y aptos para la guerra, el rey de Babilonia se los llevó a Babilonia como prisioneros.
And, all the men of might—seven thousand, and artificers and smiths—a thousand, all who were valiant and ready to make war, the king of Babylon brought them captive to Babylon.
17 Y el rey de Babilonia hizo a Matanías, hermano de su padre, rey en lugar de Joaquín, cambiando su nombre a Sedequías.
And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, his relative, king in his stead, —and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18 Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y fue rey en Jerusalén durante once años; El nombre de su madre era Hamutal, hija de Jeremías de Libna.
Twenty-one years old, was Zedekiah when he began to reign, and, eleven years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a todo como lo había hecho Joacim.
And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that, Jehoiakim, had done.
20 Y a causa de la ira del Señor, esto sucedió en Jerusalén y en Judá, hasta que los echó de su presencia; y Sedequías tomó las armas contra el rey de Babilonia.
For, it was because the anger of Yahweh had come against Jerusalem, and against Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled, against the king of Babylon.
