1 En el año duodécimo de Acaz, rey de Judá, Oseas, hijo de Ela, se convirtió en rey de Israel en Samaria, y gobernó durante nueve años.
In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah has reigned over Israel in Samaria, nine years,
2 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, aunque no como los reyes de Israel antes que él.
and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, only, not as the kings of Israel who were before him;
3 Contra él, subió Salmanasar, rey de Asiria, y Oseas se convirtió en su sirviente y tributario.
Shalmaneser king of Asshur came up against him, and Hoshea is a servant to him, and renders a present to him.
4 Salmanasar descubrió de la conspiración que Oseas estaba tramando en contra de el rey de Asiria, porque había enviado representantes a So, rey de Egipto, y no envió su ofrenda al rey de Asiria, como lo había hecho año tras año: El rey de Asiria lo encerró en la cárcel y lo encadenaron.
And the king of Asshur finds in Hoshea a conspiracy, in that he has sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and has not caused a present to go up to the king of Asshur, as year by year, and the king of Asshur restrains him, and binds him in a house of restraint.
5 Entonces el rey de Asiria recorrió toda la tierra y se acercó a Samaria, sitiándola durante tres años.
And the king of Asshur goes up into all the land, and he goes up to Samaria, and lays siege against it [for] three years;
6 En el noveno año de Oseas, el rey de Asiria tomó Samaria y se llevó a Israel a Asiria, colocándolos en Halah y Habor en el río Gozán y en las ciudades de los medos.
in the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Asshur has captured Samaria, and removes Israel to Asshur, and causes them to dwell in Halah, and in Habor, [by] the river Gozan, and [in] the cities of the Medes.
7 Y vino la ira del Señor sobre Israel, porque habían hecho mal contra él Señor su Dios, que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto de debajo del yugo de Faraón, rey de Egipto, y se convirtió en adorador de otros dioses,
And it comes to pass, because the sons of Israel have sinned against their God YHWH—who brings them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt—and fear other gods,
8 Y vivían de acuerdo con las costumbres de las naciones que el Señor había arrojado de delante de los hijos de Israel así como las costumbres que los reyes de Israel establecieron.
and walk in the statutes of the nations that YHWH dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel, and of the kings of Israel that they made;
9 Y los hijos de Israel hicieron en secreto contra el Señor su Dios cosas que no estaban bien, construyendo lugares altos para sí mismos en todos sus pueblos, desde la torre de los vigilantes hasta el pueblo amurallado.
and the sons of Israel covertly do things that [are] not right against their God YHWH, and build high places for themselves in all their cities, from a tower of the watchers to the fortified city,
10 Levantaron pilares de piedra y madera en cada colina alta y debajo de cada árbol verde:
and set up standing-pillars and Asherim for themselves on every high height, and under every green tree,
11 Quemando incienso en todos los lugares altos, como hicieron aquellas naciones a quienes el Señor arrojó de delante de ellos; hicieron cosas malas, moviendo al Señor a la ira;
and make incense there in all high places, like the nations that YHWH removed from their presence, and do evil things to provoke YHWH,
12 Y se hicieron siervos de ídolos, aunque el Señor había dicho: No debes hacer esto.
and serve the idols, of which YHWH said to them, “You do not do this thing.”
13 Dio testimonio de Israel y de Judá por todos los profetas y videntes, diciendo: Vuelve de tus malos caminos, cumple mis órdenes y guarda mis reglas, y guíate por la ley que les di a tus padres y enviados por mis siervos los profetas.
And YHWH testifies against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, “Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by the hand of My servants the prophets”;
14 No oyeron, sino que se endurecieron, como sus padres que no creían en el Señor su Dios.
and they have not listened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain steadfast in their God YHWH,
15 Y fueron contra sus reglas, y el pacto que hizo con sus padres, y las leyes que les dio; se entregaron a cosas sin sentido ni valor, y se volvieron vanidosos como las naciones que los rodeaban, de quienes el Señor había dicho: No hagas lo que ellos hacen.
and reject His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and go after the vain thing, and become vain, and after the nations that are around them, of whom YHWH commanded them not to do like them.
16 Volviendo la espalda a todas las órdenes que el Señor les había dado, hicieron para sí mismas imágenes de metal y la imagen de Asera, adoraron a todas las estrellas del cielo y convirtiéndose en siervos de Baal.
And they forsake all the commands of their God YHWH, and make a molten image for themselves—two calves, and make an Asherah, and bow themselves to all the host of the heavens, and serve Ba‘al,
17 Hicieron pasar a sus hijos y a sus hijas por el fuego, hicieron uso de adivinaciones y encantamientos, y se entregaron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, hasta que fue llevado a la ira.
and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do evil in the eyes of YHWH, to provoke Him.
18 Entonces el Señor estaba muy enojado con Israel, y su rostro se apartó de ellos, solo la tribu de Judá mantuvo su lugar.
And YHWH shows Himself very angry against Israel, and turns them aside from His presence; none has been left, only the tribe of Judah by itself.
19 Pero incluso Judá no cumplió las órdenes del Señor su Dios, sino que fueron guiados por las costumbres que Israel había hecho.
Also Judah has not kept the commands of their God YHWH, and they walk in the statutes of Israel that they had made.
20 Entonces, el Señor desechó toda la descendencia de Israel, y les envió problemas, y los entregó en manos de sus atacantes, hasta que los hubo arrojado lejos de su rostro.
And YHWH kicks against all the seed of Israel, and afflicts them, and gives them into the hand of spoilers, until He has cast them out of His presence,
21 Porque Israel fue separado de la familia de David, e hicieron a Jeroboam, el hijo de Nebat, rey, quien, alejándolos de las leyes del Señor, los hizo cometer un gran pecado.
for He has torn Israel from the house of David, and they make Jeroboam son of Nebat king, and Jeroboam drives Israel from after YHWH, and has caused them to sin a great sin,
22 Y los hijos de Israel continuaron con todos los pecados que hizo Jeroboam; no se apartaron de ellos;
and the sons of Israel walk in all the sins of Jeroboam that he did, they have not turned aside from them,
23 Hasta que el Señor quitó a Israel de su presencia, como había hablado por medio de todos sus siervos los profetas. Así que Israel fue llevado cautivo a Asiria, hasta el día de hoy.
until YHWH has turned Israel aside from His presence, as He spoke by the hand of all His servants the prophets, and Israel is removed from off its land to Asshur, to this day.
24 Entonces el rey de Asiria tomó hombres de Babilonia, Cuta, Ava, Hamat, y Sefarvaim, y los puso en los pueblos de Samaria en lugar de los hijos de Israel; Así consiguieron a Samaria por su herencia, viviendo en sus pueblos.
And the king of Asshur brings in [people] from Babylon and from Cutha, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and Sepharvaim, and causes [them] to dwell in the cities of Samaria instead of the sons of Israel, and they possess Samaria, and dwell in its cities;
25 Cuando vivían allí por primera vez, no adoraban al Señor. Entonces el Señor envió leones entre ellos, causando la muerte de algunos de ellos.
and it comes to pass, at the commencement of their dwelling there, they have not feared YHWH, and YHWH sends the lions among them, and they are destroying among them.
26 Entonces dijeron al rey de Asiria: Las naciones que ustedes tomaron como prisioneros y pusieron en las ciudades de Samaria, no conocen el camino del dios de la tierra; por eso envió leones entre ellos, causando su muerte, porque no tienen conocimiento de su camino.
And they speak to the king of Asshur, saying, “The nations that you have removed and place in the cities of Samaria have not known the custom of the God of the land, and He sends the lions among them, and behold, they are destroying them, as they do not know the custom of the God of the land.”
27 Entonces el rey de Asiria dio órdenes, diciendo: Envía allí a uno de los sacerdotes que quitaste, y que viva allí y enseñe al pueblo el camino del dios de la tierra.
And the king of Asshur commands, saying, “Cause one of the priests to go there whom you removed from there, and they go and dwell there, and he teaches them the custom of the God of the land.”
28 Entonces, uno de los sacerdotes a quienes habían quitado como prisionero de Samaria regresó y viviendo en Betel, se convirtió en su maestro en la adoración del Señor.
And one of the priests whom they removed from Samaria comes in, and dwells in Beth-El, and he is teaching them how they fear YHWH,
29 Y cada nación se hizo dioses, y los puso en las casas de los lugares altos que los samaritanos habían hecho, cada nación en las ciudades donde vivían.
and each nation is making its gods, and they place [them] in the houses of the high places that the Samaritans have made—each nation in their cities where they are dwelling.
30 Los hombres de Babilonia hicieron Sucot-benot, y los hombres de Cuta hicieron Nergal, y los hombres de Hamat hicieron Asima,
And the men of Babylon have made Succoth-Benoth, and the men of Cuth have made Nergal, and the men of Hamath have made Ashima,
31 Los de Ava hicieron Nibhaz y Tartac, y los Sefarvaim dieron a sus hijos para ser quemados en el fuego a Adramelec, y Anamelec.
and the Avites have made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites are burning their sons with fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, gods of Sepharvim.
32 También temían al Señor y se hicieron, de entre ellos mismos, sacerdotes para los lugares altos, que oficiaban ofrendas por ellos en las casas de los lugares altos.
And they are fearing YHWH, and make for themselves from their extremities priests of high places, and they are working for them in the house of the high places.
33 Ellos adoraron al Señor, pero honraron a sus dioses como lo hicieron las naciones de las cuales fueron tomados como prisioneros.
They are fearing YHWH, and they are serving their gods, according to the custom of the nations from where they removed them.
34 Por lo tanto, hasta el día de hoy continúan en sus viejos caminos, sin adorar al Señor ni obedecer sus órdenes ni sus caminos ni la ley y la regla que el Señor dio a los hijos de Jacob, a quienes dio el nombre. Israel;
To this day they are doing according to the former customs—they are not fearing YHWH, and are not doing according to their statutes, and according to their ordinances, and according to the Law, and according to the command, that YHWH commanded the sons of Jacob whose name He made Israel,
35 Y el Señor hizo un pacto con ellos y les dio órdenes, diciendo: No debes tener otros dioses; no debes rendirles culto, ni ser sus sirvientes ni hacerles ofrendas:
and YHWH makes a covenant with them and charges them, saying, “You do not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them,
36 Pero el Señor, que te sacó de la tierra de Egipto con su gran poder y su brazo extendido, es tu Dios, a quien debes adorar y hacer ofrendas:
but YHWH who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with an outstretched arm, Him you fear, and to Him you bow yourselves, and to Him you sacrifice;
37 Y las reglas y las órdenes y la ley que él puso por escrito para ti, debes guardarlas y hacerlas para siempre; No debes tener otros dioses.
and the statutes, and the judgments, and the Law, and the command, that He wrote for you, you observe to do all the days, and you do not fear other gods;
38 Y debes guardar en memoria el pacto que he hecho contigo; y no tendrás otros dioses.
and you do not forget the covenant that I have made with you, and you do not fear other gods;
39 Y debes adorar al Señor tu Dios; porque es él quien te dará la salvación de las manos de todos los que están contra ti.
but you fear your God YHWH, and He delivers you out of the hand of all your enemies”;
40 Pero no prestaron atención, sino que siguieron su camino antiguo.
and they have not listened, but they are doing according to their former custom,
41 Así que estas naciones, adorando al Señor, también eran adoradores de las imágenes que habían hecho; sus hijos y los hijos de sus hijos hicieron lo mismo; como hicieron sus padres, así lo hacen ellos, hasta el día de hoy.
and these nations are fearing YHWH, and they have served their carved images, both their sons and their sons’ sons; as their fathers did, they are doing to this day.
