2 Corintios 1

1 Pablo, Apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y Timoteo nuestro hermano, a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, con todos los santos que están en toda Acaya:

To the Church of God which is in Corinth, and to all the saints throughout Greece. from Paul, by God’s will an apostle of Christ, and from brother Timothy.

2 Gracia y paz sea a ustedes de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y el Señor Jesucristo.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father in the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Alabado sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de las misericordias y el Dios de todo consuelo;

Thanks be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,

4 Quien nos da consuelo en todos nuestros problemas, para que podamos consolar a otros que están en problemas, a través del consuelo que Dios nos consuela.

who ever comforts me in all my troubles, so that I may be continually able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort with which God is ever comforting me.

5 Porque a medida que sufrimos más del dolor que Cristo sufrió, a través de Cristo nuestro consuelo se hace más grande.

For just as I have more than my share in the sufferings of the Christ, so also through the Christ I have more than my share of comfort.

6 Pero si somos afligidos, es para su consuelo y salvación; o si nos consuela, es para que ustedes también tengan consuelo y salvación y puedan soportar con fortaleza los mismos sufrimientos que también nosotros experimentamos.

If I am afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if I am receiving comfort, it is for your comfort - a comfort produced within you by your patient fortitude, under the same sufferings which I also am enduring.

7 Y nuestra esperanza por ustedes es firme; sabiendo que al ser copartícipes de los sufrimientos, también lo serán en la consolación que viene de Dios.

My hope for you is firm; for I know that as you are comrades in my sufferings, so also are you comrades in my comfort.

8 Porque es nuestro deseo, hermanos, que no ignoren las tribulaciones que tuvimos en Asia, fue una prueba tan grande, que ya no podíamos resistir más, hasta perdimos la esperanza de salir con vida:

Now, brothers, I want you to know about the troubles which befell me in Asia; how I was burdened altogether beyond my strength, so that I renounced all hope even of life itself.

9 nos sentíamos como sentenciados a muerte, él propósito de esto, para no poner nuestra esperanza en nosotros mismos, sino en Dios que puede dar vida a los muertos:

Indeed, I had in myself, and still have, the sentence of death, in order that I might not rely on myself, but on God who raises the dead to life.

10 Quien nos libró y de una muerte tan grande y nos librará, y en quién hemos puesto nuestra esperanza que nos seguirá librando;

He delivered me from such a death, and will deliver me. On him I have set my hopes that he will continue to deliver me,

11 Ustedes, al mismo tiempo, colaborando con su oración por nosotros; si muchos oran por nosotros, la alabanza de agradecimiento por muchas personas de nuestra parte darán a Dios por todas las bendiciones concedidas a favor nuestro.

while all of you also are helping me by your prayers; so that from many lips thanksgiving may rise on my behalf for the blessings vouchsafed to me through the intercessions of many.

12 Porque nuestra gloria es está: el testimonio de nuestra conciencia, que en sencillez y sinceridad santa, nos hemos conducido en el mundo y sobre todo en relación con ustedes; no en la sabiduría de la carne, sino en la gracia de Dios nos ha ayudado a vivir así.

For this is my proud boast, the testimony of my conscience, that it was in holiness and with pure motives before God, not in worldly wisdom, but in the grace of God, that I have conducted myself in the world, and above all in my relations with you.

13 Porque en nuestras cartas no les escribimos cosas distintas de lo que puedan leer o entender, espero que lleguen a entender perfectamente hasta el final:

For I am writing to you nothing different from what you read aloud and very well recognize, and I hope will continue to recognize to the very end,

14 Como ya lo han entendido en parte, para decir que somos su gloria; la razón de su gozo, de la misma manera que son nuestra gloria en el día del Señor Jesús.

as some indeed did recognize in part at last, that I am your cause of boasting, just as you will be mine on the Day of Jesus our Lord.

15 Con esta confianza, ya había pensado venir a ustedes antes, para que puedan tener una doble bendición espiritual;

And in this confidence I intended to visit you, before going elsewhere, that you might have a pleasure twice over.

16 pensaba visitarlos primeramente al pasar camino a Macedonia, y después, al regresar, visitarlos otra vez; así ustedes podrían ayudarme a seguir mi viaje a Judea.

I intended to go by you into Macedonia, and to come again to you from Macedonia, and by you to be sent forward on my way to Judea.

17 Si entonces tenía ese propósito, ¿parecía estar cambiando de repente? ¿o soy guiado en mis propósitos por la carne, diciendo: sí, hoy y no, de acuerdo a impulsos humanos?

In purposing this did I display "caprice"? Or what I purpose do I purpose in a worldly way, so that it may mean either "Yes, yes," or "No, no"?

18 Dios es testigo, nuestra palabra para ustedes no es Sí y No al mismo tiempo.

As God is faithful, my message to you is not now "Yes," now "No."

19 Porque el Hijo de Dios, Jesucristo, a quien estábamos predicando entre ustedes, yo y Silvano y Timoteo, no era Sí y No, sino que ha sido Si en él;

For Jesus Christ, Son of God, who was proclaimed among you by us, that is, by Silvanus and Timothy and me, was not wavering between "Yes" and "No," but in him is the everlasting "Yes."

20 Porque todas las promesas de Dios son Sí, y en Jesucristo Amén, para la gloria de Dios por medio de nosotros.

For however many are the promises of God, in him they are "Yes." Therefore also through him let the Amen be said by our voices to the glory of God.

21 Y el que hace fuerte nuestra fe juntamente con ustedes en Cristo, y nos ha dado de su unción, es Dios;

And he who has established me with you in the Anointed One, and has anointed me, is God.

22 Y es él quien nos ha sellado, y nos dio el Espíritu, como garantía en nuestros corazones de lo que vamos a recibir, la gloria venidera.

He has also set his seal upon me, and given me the pledge of his Spirit in my heart.

23 Pero Dios es mi testigo de que fue una pena para ustedes que no haya venido a Corinto en ese momento.

But for my part I call God to witness, as my soul shall answer for it, that it was to spare you that I came not to Corinth

24 No es que tengamos autoridad sobre su fe, sino que queremos colaborar con ustedes, para que se gocen; porque por la fe están firmes.

(not that I am attempting to lord it over your faith, but rather to work with you for your happiness); for your faith is stedfast.
