2 Corintios 3
1 ¿Parece que estamos tratando nuevamente de recomendarnos a nosotros mismos? o ¿necesitamos, presentarles o pedirles como lo han hecho algunos, cartas de recomendaciones?
Must we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some, letters of recommendation to you, or letters of recommendation from you?
2 Ustedes mismos son nuestra carta, cuya escritura está en nuestro corazón, abierta para la lectura y el conocimiento de todos los hombres;
You are out letter, written on our hearts, known and read of all men.
3 Porque ustedes son claramente una carta de Cristo, el fruto de nuestra obra, registrada no con tinta, sino con el Espíritu del Dios viviente; no en piedra, sino en corazones de carne.
For you are plainly declared Christ's letter, ministered by us, written, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not on tables of stone, but on fleshly tables of the heart.
4 Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en Dios por medio de Cristo:
Now we have such confidence through Christ, toward God;
5 No que seamos autosuficientes como si pudiéramos hacer por nosotros mismos algo; pero nuestro poder proviene de Dios;
not that we are competent by ourselves to reckon anything as from ourselves: but our competency is from God,
6 Él cuál nos ha hecho capaces de ser servidores de un nuevo pacto no de la letra, sino del Espíritu: porque la letra mata, pero el Espíritu da vida.
who has made us competent ministers of a new institution; not of letter, but of spirit: for the letter kills; but the spirit makes alive.
7 Porque si la operación de la ley, dando muerte, grabada en letras en piedra, venía con gloria, entonces los ojos de los hijos de Israel debían ser apartados de la faz de Moisés por causa de su gloria, una gloria que era solo por un tiempo:
For if the ministration of death in letters engraved on stone was with glory, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses, because of the glory of his face, which was to be abolished;
8 ¿La operación del Espíritu no tendrá una gloria mucho mayor?
how much rather shall not the ministration of the Spirit be with glory?
9 Porque si la operación de la ley, que produce el castigo, tuvo su gloria, ¿cuánto más grande será la operación del Espíritu que causa la justificación?
For if the ministration of condemnation was glorious, much more does the ministration of justification abound in glory.
10 Porque la gloria del primero ya no parece ser la gloria, a causa de la mayor gloria de lo que viene después.
For, indeed, that which was glorified, was not glorified, in this respect, by reason of the transcendent glory.
11 Porque si lo que perece tuvo su gloria, mucho más glorioso será lo que permanece.
For if that which is abolished was with glory, much more that which continues, is with glory.
12 Teniendo tal esperanza, hablamos con mucha franqueza,
Having, therefore, such confidence, we use great plainness of speech;
13 y no somos como Moisés, que se cubrió la cara con un velo, para que los hijos de Israel no vean claramente que aquel resplandor se iba apagando.
and not as Moses, who put a vail upon his face, that the children of Israel might not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished.
14 Pero sus mentes fueron cerradas: porque hasta el día de hoy la lectura del antiguo pacto, el mismo velo aún no se ha alzado; aunque sea quitado en Cristo.
Indeed, their minds were blinded: for, till this day, the same vail remains in the reading of the Old Institution; it not being discovered that it is abolished in Christ.
15 Pero hasta el día de hoy, al leer la ley de Moisés, un velo está sobre su corazón.
Moreover, till this day, when Moses is read, the vail lies upon their heart.
16 Pero cuando se conviertan al Señor, el velo se quitará.
But when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken from around it.
17 Ahora el Señor es el Espíritu; y donde está el Espíritu del Señor, allí está el corazón libre.
Now, the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18 Pero todos nosotros, mirando con la cara descubierta como en un espejo la gloria del Señor, somos transformados de gloria en gloria, en la misma imagen como por el Espíritu del Señor.
And we all, with unvailed face, beholding, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord; are transformed into the same image, from glory to glory, as by the Lord, the Spirit.
